Harmony isn't as bad as people are making it out to be. Sure the guy on the left is having a harder time at it than lead at points but for the most part its a good run! Nice work.

Wide angle camera changes portions and perspectives. Not to mention, when you play guitar in a chair with arms you have to sit on the edge making you look too big for the chair. Good observation though

I believe the lead guitar (guy on left) is tuned standard. The other two guitars seem to be tuned two steps low, (D-G-C-F-A-D). I play the same chords capo 2.

Harmonies when playing electrically are better because the volume levels are equal through the mics. Harmonies when playing acoustically are more difficult because there is no level control. That said, I think they used too much harmony but sounded good overall.

Have to agree with Morgan, harmony is struggling and I now see for certain what a studio does if it can take this and turn it into your studio version. Sorry, guys, but this is not an impressive recording, but I give you credit for getting up there and doing it. Best to you in the future.

He's using a Cajon as the drums. Boyce avenue uses the same instrument in a lot of their songs....

Actually, it's always the lead that sounds kind of off...that cuts through the mix.. See Dixie Chicks, Boys to Men, and plenty more.

You guys complain about that performance like it was the only one they had. I've watched plenty of videos of them live and they are usually good. A bad performance can happen to ANYONE. Just watch their performance at the ACM awards 2013 with Nelly. Dont tell me they did bad... although they sure cant be perfect everytime.

To the people saying BK sucks at singing... He really doesn't. He actually has a very nice voice that sounds great! Look up an acoustic version of their songs "Tip It Back" or "Tell Me How You Like It". He has leads in these songs and they're proof that he can sing VERY well.

Hey 92.5 XTU, do your visiting guitarists, bassists, and banjoists a favor and give them chairs that do not have armrests. They get in the way, so you have to scoot your ass to the very edge of the chair to make room for the instrument. As you can imagine, this makes playing unduly uncomfortable.
These guys have committed one of the cardinal sins of country music. They recorded a song that they can not pull off well live. They even played this version a half step down from the original. This is stuff that pop and even rock artist get away with but real country music fans will not accept it. Sorry but if you can't go out and sing the thing in Bb don't record it in Bb. And if you can't scoop all those crazy harmony notes live don't record them.

The poor sound that everyone is complaining about is due to the fact that there is just one or two room microphones picking up the whole performance. Everything sounds far away and the balance between the instruments/vocals is not ideal. For example, the harmony vocal is louder than the lead vocal in parts. If all the instruments and vocalists were mic'd individually and properly mixed, the performance would sound fine.
11rockiton no it wouldn’t. The harmony wasn’t on point at all. Only thing that can fix that is auto tune. You can’t tell me it isn’t out of tune for about 90% of the video. Even if BK was quieter and it was professionally recorded the vocals would still sound like shit

song is so simple...basic template 4 chords and 3rd harmony....There is really nothing special about this song other than its catchy and extremely predictable tune...medeocre singing and OK guitar playing. Not hating, just stating facts.
