I really love how you showed how popular media is borrowed and still made their own. Often people don't know the difference between stealing and inspiration.
I'm 37 and since COVID, I've had to pivot and make a complete career change (I was running a sports bar). I've decided to enter the realm of video production and expand my talents from photography/videography/drone into a more dynamic venture. I've gotta say your videos have really helped me come ground myself. Really appreciate the informative vids my man. Keep it up! I'm a life time subscriber.
I love the balance you strike with the pacing of your tutorials, they are always slow enough that I can clearly understand what is going on but still edited to be snappy and entertaining!
As a primarily print and web designer, looking into learning motion graphics finally. And looks like i found a good foundation with your channel! Love that you showed your old stuff too. How far you've progressed. Doesn't make me feel as bad starting out. Good work, good vibes!!
Seeing this video remind my how blind I was when I started, and how much I improved about the time, work and practice. This medium can be the cliche "easy to learn, hard to master" and I just love it. Hope someday I get closer to the level of the great digital artists.
Hi Nate! This video was super great, thanks for sharing! I'm wondering if you could point me in the right direction~ In athe video project I'm working on, there is a patterned wallpaper I'd like to add moving faces to but I have no idea how to start. I've tried making a basic face in illustrator to import into AE but that face wouldn't match the pattern of the wallpaper I envision it extruding from. I've tried drawing simple shapes in AE but my skills are not advanced enough to go much further than that. My next idea is to try masking every individual shape into something 😱😱😱Is this something that I'm just "not ready for" or are there steps I can take to execute my 'face out of wallpaper' idea? Thanks for your help!
Great video bro. Just found your page an you already know I hit the subscribe button. Keep the videos coming, looking forward to growing as an artist with your help
YOU ARE MAD talented! Wow I was just browsing motion graphics and animation tutorials for my startup's content marketing. Your video was the BEST detour I've taken online
This video honestly is what convinced me to go all in on learning how to do this. The way you take things as technical as graphs and keyframes and relate them to things we see in everyday life is super impressive. It really helps me get it. Great work, man!
This was a dope video, I'm a graphic designer and I've been kinda losing my drive to continue doing graphics but I remember being back in school where we had to do a few motion graphic projects and I actually liked the process of creating those and seeing them work, they weren't the greatest but I still had lots of fun. Idk maybe it's the artist in me that just doesn't feel comfortable being a graphic designer. I'm definitely going to check out your tutorials and try to see how I feel after making a video. Thanks for those awesome tips.
I feel you!!! Its okay to feel that way. Take some time for yourself and let yourself make things that you love. You'll be back creating in no time! You got this, we gotchu! 🥰🥰🥰 sending u love fam
10:04 The comparison of two rectangles having the same duration and the same set of keyframes, but arriving at a different times is actually a good example of time travel.
@@BlackMixture I've always been into VFX since as a hobby since a child, but i used to find it quite difficult to make polished stuff back in the day, so i chose to do graphic design instead, but my real passion is music so i've been putting all my graphic skills into making music videos, and its nice to see channels like yours, cause there are a lot of tutorials for specific things as well as tips and tricks for beginners, but your videos are dope cause you list tools that can be used in versatile ways and it helps to approach vfx more from that problem solving perspective. Much love!
As a grown ass man thinking about picking this up as a hobby, you have no idea how meaningful it was to see those old stickman animations. I'm glad I found this video first to start my burgeoning motion graphics skills
It is indeed very helpful when gathering a list of related materials and style guides before starting a project. It gives a wider picture of the upcoming work and helps the entire process go smoothly.
Your comment literally made my day! You are a beautiful human and I'm grateful for your existence! 🤗 It's an honor to have your sub and welcome to the fam 😁👌🏾 sick profile pic btw🖤💛
Thank you for packaging all of this information into one clear and concise video! As a graphic designer, I have been intimated by learning motion graphics. But you made it look easy and fun! I hit the like and subscribe button.
Thanks a lot for this really useful video, super pro and nice to watch cause you are very passionate about it and you can tell it brings you joy. Whether it is great to have short videos with specific actions, I believe the community misses these more ' lectures on a topic' video, where you can also understand processes, ways of working, trends, career evolution, and so on. You are a great communicator, your videos show, you got a new subscriber.
I loved the 0:27 text replacemente effect on the dancer, do you have any video breaking down that effect? I just dicovered your videos and definitely clicked the subscribe butto nafter 10 sec of viewing your talent as animator! You are great!
My god, that projection mapping work you're showing us as an example is incredible..!! I had to pause the video to write this. Where can we see a longer clip of that??
great video! I watch a lot of tutorials all the time but I like how in this one you talk about the structure and the essentials for animations in general. Not all the creators can explain it so well! Thanks a lot! I'll check your other videos to know more since your shoulders :P
What a full-packed video! Stuffed with all goods from theory to practical tips. I love that! As a former video editor, who's studying graphic design now, I really appreciate the theory part! I love how you pay attention to the details! I remember making animation on Macromedia Flash with about the tenth of the opportunities given now, so the difference is just incredible! I love your jokes too! :) Keep on doing!!
Thanks Barbara! You're too kind! :) I really appreciate your feedback, learning about you, and all the love and support! Super inspiring to have you watching and I'm looking forward to making more vids you enjoy 😁👍🏽
Awesome video as ever. Can you tell me what the clip at 16:23 is and where I can see the whole piece. I'm using photographic elements in a project and I'd love to explore a fold out style technique. THANKS SO MUCH!
