Great work, it is nice to see that the intermittent problem is probably cause by a poor wiring job. Contact cleaner and reconnect those wire should do the trick. I love your video.
The nacelle's are beautiful, but they do seem like a pain to take apart. The mechanics at the dealerships might have hated them but I bet the dealership owners loved the extra time (aka billable hours) they created.
When you get it running you need to look at the right hand cylinder it is running way to hot a lot hotter than left hand one looking at the colour of the exhaust pipes
I'm not sure either. It's just a coil of wire and a magnet. But I once found a melted ammeter in a bike. Never figured out why. Higher voltage, lower current may make the needle action different. I will watch it closely once I get the bike running.

Bodywork blind alley by Triumph in '58. By '61 the unpoplular bathtub was cut down but surprisingly still hung around 'til '64.

jeez, one slip with the screwdriver on that immaculate painted cowl.... Those wires/connectors below the engine look vulnerable also
That switch wiring looks worse than my attempts at mending electrics! 😱
Nacelle's a nightmare.

Can't see why the voltage should make any difference to the ammeter.

Interesting, reminds me of Scottie in Star Trek saying it's against the laws of physics 🤣
I hanna got the power, Captain! (Humor). Scottie was always my hero.
