I will always love the artistry of the Queen. The best to ever walk to a microphone. It is not about how loud you sing or hold a note. It is about how you can translate the music into feelings that someone can understand.
Aretha has been doing it for me for over 40 yrs. As reported today, 8-13-18, she is gravely ill; thus, I will always honer her and the joy that she has brought to my life over the years. RICHIE RICH
Babeee the way she over dubbed and turned out them vocals. I wished there was a actual video of the live performance footage of her singing this song. This lady could do stuff with her voice, that was just out of this world! All hail the queen!
I understand that this album came out in 1977, but when I heard this particular song 10 years later, it really touched my heart to the point of love.! Just hearing this song at that time, made me feel good knowing that it's the sweetness in her voice! Aretha we all miss you very much.
The Queen is traveling up and down the musical 🎶 scale on this one,I remember when this album 💿 came out,I played it to death, she is definitely displaying her incredible vocals on this song, you go Queen 🤴 of Soul 😊❤❤❤
I absolutely LOVED this song back in the day! My mother had this album and now that she has passed, I have inherited it. Brings back great memories of the summer 77'! My last summer living in the Bronx!
~ Sweet Passion and Aretha Arrives are two LPs by Aretha not properly explored nor promoted in their own time, still fresh in 2018, and definitely worth re-visiting. The Queen of Soul - honour our living legends, including Lamont Dozier. Classic dance here ~ Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
This is one of my favorite songs by ReRe, I still have just about all of her albums and still play them. I was actually very surprised to see this song because not too many people know about this! Great big thumbs up on this one!!!!!!!
Yes indeed. I've noticed that A LOT of the songs Aretha wrote herself are really GOOD songs to step/hand dance/ballroom off of. Ree knew what she was doing when she was writing. Detroiter that she was.
I love this song . it reminds me of my father..... he loved anything 'Aretha Franklin recorded. He bought all of her albums.....I am celebrating my dad Roosevelt..... I LOVE YOU......d
yeah the effects of smoking made her voice raspy as hell, lol. Through it all she gained some range after quitting smoking(thank God!) What a blessed set of pipes she has to be able to give us such gut-wrenching soul, screams, runs and hollers. She is still the QUEEN!
Aretha Franklin's record label ARETHA'S RECORDS just signed a distribution deal with Universal Music Group. The first five releases under this new deal will be cd debuts of WITH EVERYTHING I FEEL IN ME, YOU, SWEET PASSION, ALMIGHTY FIRE and LA DIVA. All reissues have extra tracks including her version of "You Light Up My Life".
I wish I knew what's taking 12 years so far, to release this material!!?? You'd think it would've all been released after her death! Aretha's estate owns the masters of those unreleased cds. If they ever release those cds, her family will get PAID!!!
I think her voice changed after 81 (a lifetime smoking habbit since her early teens will do that, as well as other factors). Listen to LOVE ALL THE HURT AWAY and the album after that one. You can hear the change. BUT she is still the Queen of Soul! No one touches her voice in its prime.
The only thing I ever remembered about this song was the part that starts at 2:00...and I couldn't tell anyone the name of the song or anything...and because I was on the site tonight looking for Get It Right...I stumbled on this...and decided to listen...and lo and behold this is the song I've been looking for...for the past 35 years...hot damn! I loved this song...from the first time I heard it as a little girl...and to find it again...thank you so much! ~Saki~
Through her recording career starting in 1956, Aretha is the only singer I know of that has went through so many voice changes. However, no matter what it changes to she finds a way to knock your socks off! I swear her voice has changed about 5 or 6 times.lol The Queen still sits on her throne!
"When I Think About You" Ooh, baby You give me such a good good feeling So good baby, hey When I think about you, baby, baby I get all warm inside When I think about you, baby, baby I have a heart attack, I'm holding back my pride Get that same old good good felling And I get all hurt and weak and sad I wanna give you this love that I'm feeling Don't let this sweet emotion be denied Ooh... baby, feeling so good, ooh baby Ooh... baby, feeling so good, yeah baby When I think about you, baby, oh baby Feel so, feel so, ooh, good to me When I think about you, baby, sweet baby This good thing still go on endlessly I see your face ever so wanted And your sparkling eyes and your winning smile Keep on loving me the same way darling It can come true if only for a little while Ooh... baby, ooh baby Ooh... honey, ooh, honey, yeah Ooh... baby Yeah, I want this feeling to last forever Sure want this feeling to last forever I want this feeling to last forever, yes Ever, ever Ooh... baby, feeling so good Ooh... honey, feeling so good, oh honey Ooh... yeah baby Ooh, baby, come on baby
Responding to "her voice had changed," I believe she has gone on public record as saying she was a chain smoker for some time until it started to as she put it "mess with her voice." I'm always amazed at people who smoke when their instrument is their voice. Like Al Jarreau for instance. Amazing.
My thoughts of my MotorCityHusband. My Mother use to play this song for my Dad when I was a little girl. Now I get it...Lol REAL LOVE NEVER GOES OUT OF STYLE!!!#TheRealityPoet
Aretha ruined it for every other singer after her. They can't hold a candle to this lady. She didn't need 50 dancers behind her or see through clothes. She knocked you out with her voice. She is the voice by which all the others are measured and they just don't measure up. May be some good female singers afterwords, but they are mediocre when this lady was in her prime.
Incredible! No one could do what she could.
I will always love the artistry of the Queen. The best to ever walk to a microphone. It is not about how loud you sing or hold a note. It is about how you can translate the music into feelings that someone can understand.
Queen of soul will live forever!her voice
Was awesome
Hearing this for the first time sounds good to me. Aretha could sing anything 🎶🎶🎶👑
Aretha has been doing it for me for over 40 yrs. As reported today, 8-13-18, she is gravely ill; thus, I will always honer her and the joy that she has brought to my life over the years. RICHIE RICH

Aretha Franklin will always be my favorite singer.

The riffs in between the lines it's unbelievable ,all hail our Queen, s.a. loves you.
There will never be another Queen of Soul...
Ree has set the standard... This woman is a true diva... unlike so-called divas of today...
The Queen is traveling up and down the musical 🎶 scale on this one,I remember when this album 💿 came out,I played it to death, she is definitely displaying her incredible vocals on this song, you go Queen 🤴 of Soul 😊❤❤❤
You can hear the soul ooooozing from Aretha's voice.
Makes you wanna strut! I've always loved the Sweet Passion Album. Totally underrated!
Forever and always will be the BEST singer to grace the face of the earth.
+Jasper Hughes I heard that!
TOO GOD BE THE GLORY 😇 😇 AMEN AMEN AMEN 🙏 🙏 AMEN AMEN AMEN 🙏 🙏💕 💕

I absolutely LOVED this song back in the day! My mother had this album and now that she has passed, I have inherited it. Brings back great memories of the summer 77'! My last summer living in the Bronx!

Hey have you played that " Just Right Tonight" on the Angel Album?
They could release this today, it would be number one on the charts
I want this singing to last forever!

Arrives was a big seller compared to Sweet Passion. La DIVA and You are both under recognized
No one sings with the raw powerful emotional delivery of Ms. Franklin, go Rhee Rhee! Love It!
The Queen of soul
REMEMBERING
THE QUEEN OF SOUL
ARETHA LOUISE FRANKLIN

Hmmmm...arguable this is one of the best altered (shhhhh...) voices of-all-time...otherworldly range and power.
Thank you Aretha for giving us these evergreen music. Rest In The Lord, Always.

This is vocal pyrotechnics. Aretha lets it rip!
LMAO! GOOD ONE!
A bonus on this song is that we get multiple Arethas. She's singing on at least 3 tracks, likely 4.
I haven't heard this for such a long time. But I really love this.

i love this so much, reminds me of listening to this on vinyl on the daily!!
You can really Step off this one. Long live the Queen!
Yes indeed. I've noticed that A LOT of the songs Aretha wrote herself are really GOOD songs to step/hand dance/ballroom off of. Ree knew what she was doing when she was writing. Detroiter that she was.

You got that right!!! THE UNDISPUTED QUEEN OF SOUL NOW AND FOREVERMORE!!!!! #TheRealityPoet
yeah the effects of smoking made her voice raspy as hell, lol. Through it all she gained some range after quitting smoking(thank God!) What a blessed set of pipes she has to be able to give us such gut-wrenching soul, screams, runs and hollers. She is still the QUEEN!

I love "When I think about You",sing it girl,Rest In Peace my Queen.
U betta' play this huh lol 👍🎉🌟
Fantastic song written and produced by Lamont Dozier of the famous Motown trio Holland-Dozier-Holland.
It was written by Aretha herself.
@@midnitesky thank you for correcting me. Shame on me
No problem :)
Aretha wrote this song.

Amen! I think about the only other singer is Rachelle Ferelle and Patty!
Aretha was also a smoker
@@joshuamcdowell5782 Yep I don't think she would've lost her sharpness during the 80s if she didn't smoke. But oddly I love her 80s voice.
i remember this song...1977 old song....and it was a Big hit !! #realoldschool....
So nice!!! 9th did a great job with this 2 =)
NOT THE FULL "SWEET PASSION" ALBUM, MISSING "BREAK IT TO ME GENTLY" YET EVERY VERSION EVER RECORDED POSTED EXCEPT BEST ONE, ARETHA FRANKLIN'S!
bradly2007 I definitely agree...
Ooh ooh wee! Sang it Ree!
come on RE RE let your last 4 lps from Atlantic ouuta the vaults onto CD Remasters or let FTG or bbr records remaster them for you please!
A vocal tour de force by Lady Soul!
This song makes you hold on a little tighter.
Love that song
Still listening..
It's still good
She dedicated this song to Dennis. Edwards of The Temptations, she was crazy about him, she wrote it herself.
That’s not true. She wrote Day Dreaming about him. She was already with her soon to be husband Glynn Turman
That Primal Yell 4:12 is all that!!!
"When I Think About You"
Ooh, baby
You give me such a good good feeling
So good baby, hey
When I think about you, baby, baby
I get all warm inside
When I think about you, baby, baby
I have a heart attack, I'm holding back my pride
Get that same old good good felling
And I get all hurt and weak and sad
I wanna give you this love that I'm feeling
Don't let this sweet emotion be denied
Ooh... baby, feeling so good, ooh baby
Ooh... baby, feeling so good, yeah baby
When I think about you, baby, oh baby
Feel so, feel so, ooh, good to me
When I think about you, baby, sweet baby
This good thing still go on endlessly
I see your face ever so wanted
And your sparkling eyes and your winning smile
Keep on loving me the same way darling
It can come true if only for a little while
Ooh... baby, ooh baby
Ooh... honey, ooh, honey, yeah
Ooh... baby
Yeah, I want this feeling to last forever
Sure want this feeling to last forever
I want this feeling to last forever, yes
Ever, ever
Ooh... baby, feeling so good
Ooh... honey, feeling so good, oh honey
Ooh... yeah baby
Ooh, baby, come on baby
Responding to "her voice had changed," I believe she has gone on public record as saying she was a chain smoker for some time until it started to as she put it "mess with her voice." I'm always amazed at people who smoke when their instrument is their voice. Like Al Jarreau for instance. Amazing.
RIP ARETHA 👑👑👑👑👑👑

My thoughts of my MotorCityHusband. My Mother use to play this song for my Dad when I was a little girl. Now I get it...Lol REAL LOVE NEVER GOES OUT OF STYLE!!!#TheRealityPoet
Powerful powerful powerful!
Sing Ree, Ree........

BABEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, you ain't NEVER lied!!! Aretha the: G.O.A.T., IMO!!!
A perfect example of how to take a very average song and make it into a great record.
Hey......
After 78' she was done her voiced changed......u can kinda hear it here just a little but she was the truth
In your opinion! I TOTALLY DISAGREE!!!
HJJ
Love that song
