Lotus factory tour Sept 18, 1993

A vintage video from 1993 - Lotus Cars factory tour in Hethel, UK in 1993. Filmed by Alan Perry, transferred to digital and edited by me in 2011. Rare footage as the factory (owned by Bugatti in 1993) allowed video recording.
In 1990, I went on a Lotus tour, but no cameras/video allowed. Likewise for Lotus owners that went in 2011. Posted with permission from Alan.

The timing index is incorrect. The first bit is at Daytune (a Lotus dealer and shop run by Peter Day). The next bit is at the home of Ron Welsh of Edmonton Tool (they did work for Lotus). The red Excel at the beginning of that bit belongs to Mike Causer, who I stayed with during that trip. The next bit was at London Lotus Centre, another Lotus dealer. The drive to the Hethel factory starts at around 12:30 and everything after that was at the factory.
We spent much of the time at the factory trying to resolve the problem with the Six. It was a piece of rubber sheet floating around in the fuel tank that would occasionally settle on the fuel pickup. After we got it resolved, I did a quick pass through the factory, trying to shoot as much video as we could.
The guy speaking at the end was Oliver Winterbottom, who styled the Elite/Eclat. I shared a table with him at the dinner the evening before and we had a good conversation, so I felt familiar enough with him to just walk up and ask him stuff.
