Lotus Esprit near collision on commute home
Having been hit twice this year by errant drivers, I am experimenting with dash cams. Tonight, here is a driver who can't quite turn correctly; I can't swerve to left due to cars next to me. Sony HDR-AS15 action camera set for 170 degree field of view (FOV).

1988 Lotus Esprit Turbo - Citroen C35 circlip issue
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.11 лет назад
A relatively recent (last 3-5 years) discovery that the input shaft circlip can fail catastrophically on the Citroen C35 on Lotus cars. Specifically, this has been seen on the Lotus Turbo Esprit (86-87) and Lotus Esprit Turbo (USA Federal 88 with Citroen transmission). The circlip fails due to a redesigned tapered input shaft that results in the input shaft shearing its teeth, rendering the Esp...

Check first 15 secs for timing index to selected topics in video. A vintage video from 1993 - Lotus Cars factory tour in Hethel, UK in 1993. Filmed by Alan Perry, transferred to digital and edited by me in 2011. Rare footage as the factory (owned by Bugatti in 1993) allowed video recording. In 1990, I went on a Lotus tour, but no cameras/video allowed. Likewise for Lotus owners that went in 201...

Brake system overhaul - 1991 Ford Mustang GT hatchback
I realize this is 14 years old. But another option is go to AutoZone and doorman sells a kit with 2 long and 2 short for $4.99
Why didn't you show them how to take it off
Neat to see the assembly line where my 91 SE was born.
Can I just grease tf out of it myself or do I need a grease bearing pusher thing, if so can I pick that up at oreilys or Autozone? Or is that more of a Home Depot thing
What did it turn out to be.....it sounds as if the engine and box need rebuilding
is it safe to use copper anti seize on back of brake pad? is it safe on rubber piston boot?
Where can you buy the unit can’t find one
Mine doesn't twist off
Pretty sure you used wrong shock for the axle dampener
It’s a fucking ziptie!!!! Smh 🤦🏻♂️
The struggle is real …
This is cringe worthy …glad he’s got a sears tool set 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What about the top bolt ?
This is a rear wheel hub correct
You didn't change the bearing, you just changed the whole hub assembly with bearing in it !! Be specific what you write in headline
Was the first part of the video filmed in the 70's?
Does anyone have a link for this circlip part?
Sorry I missed it !
Good job
Thank you so much
this is a perfect video..10/10
Is the part the same for a mustang gt 2005?
Can you link the part ?
I gotta give you credit for thinking outside the box and using what you have to get the job done. I've never seen anyone use a jack to break a bolt lose and I've been around a long time and seen people do some off the wall crazy things to get something done, and I don't believe they would have thought of that. Good job bro. Most people would have snapped the bolt off or stripped it by using a air wrench before breaking the bolt lose with a breaker bar, or in your case an adjustable wrench and a jack. Lol
Just because you kept "copyright sleekgt050911" doesn't mean it is copyrighted. Dumbass... And hey guess what, your video was a fail.
The guy can't use a torque wrench!!
It’s the Jesus nut, not said “lock nut”. It because if it comes off your praying to Jesus.
"...and now we're going to paint some fluffly little bearings.. just add a little bit of grease and lets see.. Where do these fluffy little bearings want to live?? Right there.. thats nice.... and just dab a little more grease.. a little bit more... however much you want.. theres no wrong fluffy little bearings. Thats nice.. nice and fluffy gressed bearings. ." - The Joy of Wheel Bearing Packing with Bob Ross.
What about the piston back, what are you doing.
Where u get $12.50 rotors at
Thanks a lot. The whole time I was talking to your video.. ''take the parking brake off''. :)
Do a quick eye rinse 😂 have a drink while yer givener bud.
How do i find out if i have antilock bracking?. So i can get the correct hub.
You should have put a light amount of grease on that inner seal so it slides on OK.
I don't remember if it was clock or counter clock but I was struggling with the same problem. My neighbor was passing by and told me; why don't you try the other way? And it worked.
This is the second video for mustang saying bearing replacement and no bearing replacement, just the complete hub with bearings already inside.
This video was perfect to explain a self install for someone with moderate existing knowledge.
This was perfect!! Especially knowing that we need a 220 ft lb torque wrench ahead of time....it's always a bummer to get in to a project and then find you don't have what you need to finish....MUCH APPRECIATED.
Thanks very much for ur vid u totally save my life
Won't last, don't waste your time. Notice how much thinner the home made bushing is compared to the Factory replacement ? After about 10 closings that "soft" home made bushing will be chewed up(I've tried this b4) He's got another 8" of plastic tubing left ? How many times do you plan on repairing this ? Hardened Factory Bushing is $2.99 CJ pony ! DO IT RIGHT, FOR ONCE ! Also NOT ALL 91 hatch strikers will separate apart (disc washer won't seperate). You'll need the whole $38 enchilada, it's just the way they made them
Love this video, so genuine. What would It be if you DIDN'T get fuel all over you or in your eyes!
finally start to finish view thanks
I have a 2005 Ford Mustang GT could you show us how to remove the C clamps from the rear axle
Thanks for the video. It helped out alot.
How did you know it was bad? was it making a humming noise? while you drive
Come on man, you skipped right over the part where you had a problem with trying to get the piston to go in.. LOL what the hell is up with that?
If you read the first ten comments you'll see the piston didn't go in because I had the parking brake on. I did forget to mention that in the video.
Working on my 2014 Ford Fusion. I cannot get the tab to fit inside the hole with the cam bolt. The little tab sits up higher than the cam lobe so it won't fit inside it. Gosh damn this is so annoying. I'm going to try the other style like the MOOG K7436.
yea, whats the point speeding up the video, its useless as an example
open the bleed screw to relieve the pressure and the piston will rotate easier. do the same in the front and it'll push in easier or should. if not your calipers are going bad and need replacement.
you do it like $90 ...the shop does it its like $400......remember when you drive into a shop your paying for the people there, the land tax, the eclectic bill ,water bill health insurance (employees ) ,shop do dads ,equipment, right down to the soap and toilet paper..........if you can do it yourself id highly recommend it............BIG UPS to the guy wearing gloves !!!! all them chemicals when on your skin will inter your blood stream in 3-5 mins and many cancers will be caused from this exposure !!!!
