I know it’s most probably not part of your job (in the price) but I personally couldn’t leave that. It looked a lot better once cleaned, but I would have got a sharp blade and carefully cut all the caulk away. Cleaned everything up, re-caulked all the trims back to the wall neatly, then white silicone on the internal parts of the trim. Once done it will make your job look a lot neater, when you come to paint the reveals.

This is exactly what I needed to know. Sister just moved into a house with black caulk around the windows. Thanks

Would you use the same cleaner for removing paint from the frames? Our home's previous owner smeared paint all over the pvc frames unfortunately.

@@PaintingandDecorating Hi, would you show how you as a professional would measure the volume of paint when decanting into a paint kettle for the likes of doors and skirts! always end up with more than i needed. thanks.

I've always done the perimeter it's just common sense. Caulk for walls and timber excluding exterior and mastic silicone for plastic and ceramics.

I always use D srtip on all perimeters on upvc windows, caulk onto wall edge gp low modulas on inside of strip.

It's surprising how often you see this mess of old, blackened caulk on plastic frames...I ve not tried that cleaner, but i have had a lot of luck using Pink Stuff multisurface cleaner/degreaser and for more stubborn dirt, Pink Stuff paste, which is a very mild scourer/abrasive....

The double glazed window wasn't fitted properly, they left part of the old wooden window frame behind.
