Faster to get to than stone edge, better in neutral scenarios, better against poliwrath, empoleon, registeel, toxapex, and lanturn. Stone edge only feels necessary for mandibuzz and mantine. The whole team has neutral play into mandi. Mantine is obvs tough
I used quag in remix too and ran stone edge, which felt necessary with the number of mandibuzzes and mantines. In open great league, mud bomb feels more flexible and useful
Normal quag works! Some matches up are just a bit tougher because you don't two-shot a lot of things with aqua tail/mud bomb, but the extra bulk helps survive certain moves like a shadow ball on annihilape. It just plays different.
Been using aqua tail + earthquake on my S quag for the earthquake surprise, which has worked really well for me. But mud bomb seems a lot less bait dependent, so I’ll have to try it!
