Which lighthouse was your favorite from the list?

Pemaquid Point Lighthouse was my favourite, not just for looks but for the unmentioned Bell Tower I spotted to one side. I went off on a Google and Wiki tangent reading about the weights contained in the Tower. At first I thought it may have been an earlier Lighthouse but enjoyed reading this information. The Barber Pole one also ticked it for me. Automation is a great thing but I would have loved being a Lighthouse Keeper way back when especially on the remote ones when people used to spend weeks alone there. I'm not a recluse but the thought of a month of solitude followed by a time off does sound attractive. But those were my two favourite but they were all beautiful in their own right. Hard to choose but the addition of the Bell Tower definitely did it for me. It is great that so many of these have museums too. Thanks for uploading Adam. Hope you are fully recovered or nearly there at the very least.

@@chrisbentleywalkingandrambling Thank you so much Chris. I'm glad you enjoyed all the lighthouses. Yes I learned a whole lot about what it was like to be a lighthouse keeper during my explorations over the month it took me to gather all this footage. Yes it seems before some early automation the keeper needed to climb the tower and literally crank a weight to the top that would lower down and spin the signal. They would have to go keep climbing to make sure it was back at the top each time haha.

West Quoddy Head is my favorite on the list. My family and I vacationed in Lubec this summer for the local hiking in that area. It's like Acadia without the crowds. Quoddy has beautiful hiking in addition to the lighthouse. Also next time you are up there you have to hike Boot Head Preserve. Thanks for the list, I think the Forest Gump lighthouse is next on my list of lighthouses to visit. Never been there. Love Maine!!

That's awesome. Well when I am finally all recovered from my knee surgery I'll have to go back out there and check out all the hiking near all of the lighthouses that I missed that time around. Thanks for the great recommendations.

I willed myself to get there haha. Luckily the brace is off now and I am fully into my recovery. Looking more and more normal each day. Awesome to hear you've seen the nubble before. What a cute fun lighthouse. Loved it!

That was fun! So many beautiful spots to explore on the Maine coast. I really like the Boon island
Light because it was so tall and the added boat ride to get there. Enjoyed added history also. Well done.

Yes such pretty views the entire time! I don't think so in the traditional sense. Some have museums or other buildings attached that have staff but I don't think any have a traditional lighthouse keeper running the lamps. I believe that part has all been mechanized or replaced with beacons.
