  • This is the process of making a drypoint print for me at home.
Printed on Somerset paper, with Fome table top press. The prints are A5 ish.
These prints were for John Pedders One of many project that he started on Instagram. Where artists and printmakers make prints that we then give away for free, only requesting that the recipient donates to the charity of their choice in return.
This technique often gets called etchings or etching engraving, all which are not quite right. Etchings being a different process. Only mentioning it as I think it is important to use correct names for processes other wise confusion might happen, then everyone is on the same page :)
Any questions please do ask :)

Lovely to see this! I enjoy your demonstrations very much. :-) It seems easier or at least simpler thane etching. You.ve made a beautiful print there..

Hi! Thank you , yes drypoint is brilliant in its directness, much simpler than etching , what you give up is some control over your drawing, as the resistance of the metal makes it harder to have smooth lines 😁

@@TheYellowjim I suppose its a little bit of a tightrope-you have to be confident and just do with it. And practise. I think the directness has its own vibrance and charm.:-)

@@TERRYBIGGENDEN yes! Exactly! Its what keeps me coming back to have another go, making that drawing that walks that tightrope 👍
