Thanks for explaining the process in Part 1, I think using gloves would help and the additional process of washing off the marks with oil might give a cleaner image. Overall your video has added a lot to my understanding of 'Kitchen Litho' so I now feel primed and ready to go. Cheers 👍🏼
I have had so many failures with kitchen litho I finally gave up. But your demo was so uncomplicated and straightforward that am going to have another go at it. So many thanks and I concur with the other comment - more please! Judith
yes It is a bit tempermental, that's why I stuck to soft pencil in this demo. I would say dont be afraid of leaving it in the cola for a bit longer, also agitating it in the cola helps as well, then the plate is a bit more robust and less likely to scum up , keep trying !! :)
You have described the process very well simple and fairly well show the process
Very nice demonstration. Clear and easy to follow. Please make some more? :-)
Да когда ж уже опустите в эту жидкость свой рисунок😁
Thank you so much for your replies. Keep posting x
Ps. Why don't you need to use oil in this instance? Cheers.
I found when i use oil to clean the drawing media off of the plate it was much more likely to just scum up and ink sticks everywhere. So i try it without, and it works fine as long as the drawing medium isnt too thick , hope that helps , thanks !
Lovely video. Did you use the graphite powder? How DO you apply it?
Elizabeth Maddicott hiya, no i dont think i did in the end , i would have just sprinkled it on to see what happen as it comes in a little pot with a small spout, I will endeavour to try it to see if it works , thanks
Hi there. First of all it's a very helpful video! I was wondering, if simple oil paint would work too instead of etching ink?
Hi , yes i have managed to print a kitchen litho with oil paint (I might have mixed it with print extender, I cant remember) but yes, its not as fine as printing ink but if you can get a neat amount on a roller you can :)
@@TheYellowjim Thank you very much for your quick answer! :)
Do we need to thin the ink?
Что- то с колой колдует 👍👍👍😁
Hi, thanks for sharing your video. I've some questions... You say in another reply that the plates wont keep, how come the plates wont keep? and what are the two oil tubes you use? thanks
The plates dont seem to keep in my experience, but then i have not cleaned them off once i have finished printing, but i think its down to the grease in the ink contaminating the foil . the two tubes are oil based printing ink , one black the other raw umber to make a slightly warmer black. thanks for watching :)
What size edition can you get with this process, approximately?
im not sure, potentially as many as you could print in a day? the plates wont store so you have to print them all in one go. but easily 20 odd from something like this. for more info check out www.atelier-kitchen-print.org and check out her videos on youtube to she prints one with a large edition. hope that helps.
Any idea off the top of your head if akua intaglio inks would be usable with the process? The graphite method has got ideas bouncing!
Brilliant demonstration
