- Hey guys! In todays video I show you how to sew pointe shoes fast in quarantine. If you are anything like me, then sewing pointe shoes is the BIGGEST chore. Over the years I have learned how to cut the process in HALF! This is how I sew pointe shoes fast In Quarantine! What are some of your pointe shoe hacks to sew fast?

I just started doing the one-loop. It's awesome. I also use bra extenders to attach my elastics at the waist seam of the shoe. So much easier to get in and out of the shoe without fighting the maze.
The sound of the scissors cutting the elastic was so satisfying
i have been using elastic ribbon for about a year now and i absolutely love them!! i have switched around to a couple different brands, but i have been using the bloch elastic ribbons and they are my favorite.
Do you use the method to sew them just like in the video?
I’ve sewn pointe shoes before, but this hack is SO HELPFUL! My mother just bought some more elastic ribbon!! I’m going to try it! Even if it doesn’t work, I can just cut the elastic again! THANK YOU!!!

This will be my first time sewing pointe shoes, my mom always does them lol, and as awesome as this is, i'm kinda worried about trying something new like this hack. Should i try it or no?
Honestly just do what makes you feel comfortable!! You can always try this little hack later!
if it doesn’t work, you can always just cut the ribbon into two! it’s a fail safe hack :)

How much stretchy elastic/ribbon do I know that I would need to ensure a good fit doing this wrap around method? The elastic ribbon I have is a really long piece so I’m not sure how to figure this out. Cutting it in two pieces for my daughters foot the pieces are still really long
What length is that one elastic that you use in place of the two ribbons? Is there a good average length for this?
So you only need to use 1/4 of the elastic ribbon per shoe?

You can also sew it normally and apply nail polish on top of the places that you've sewn.

Any sewists out there? I use my sewing machine to sew my elastics and ribbons onto my pointe shoes! Super quick, super strong, super easy!!!

Maybe a stupid question but I wonder how long the elastic ribbons keep their elasticity? I'd just worry they get loose after a while.
They have stayed in perfect elastic condition for me!

I just got loop ribbons today and I was so confused because they aren’t that stretchy so I basically kept cutting off circulation when I tried it how the other tutorials showed me lol

So I'm about to have my first pair in a couple of days, and I want to try this hack, but my teacher adviced me to choose sewing ribbons instead. And now I wonder if this hack is safe for beginners.
Stretchy ribbons I believe do not give as much support as the satin ones, so it is safer and more preferable to have the satin ribbons as a beginner because it gives you more support. :)
Is it suppose to twist in the back?

It sure does! I also think they are much more comfortable than your typical satin ribbons.

Question… do your shoes fall off with sewing the ribbons like this? I can’t seem to get my shoes to stay on my heels 😹
sewing two elastics in a x shape from the back/side of your shoe to the opposite side’s arch helped stop my shoes from popping off at the back :))
