This video is really helpful to everyone who needs to know how to sew ribbons and elastics onto the pointe shoes. The explanations are great and easy to understand.
The video is a little bit confusing. When you mark the inside of the shoe, are you marking the center point of where the ribbon will go? Or are you marking the inner edge or the outer edge? then you say to fold the elastic ribbon in half and take the short side. Well there is no short side if you have folded it in half. I'm afraid this is not terribly helpful for beginners on the topic.

Omg her arches are gorgeous!
Very helpful! Thank you! What kind of thread are you using here?
do you cut the ribbons into 4? two for each shoe?
Yes
great video it helped a lot.
wow very nice work
Umm is there supposed to be two ribbons cause I just got my first pair and I got 1 elastic and 1 long ribbon
You should have 4 pieces of rib ion that are equally. 2 for each shoes.
You get one piece of ribbon then you cut that ribbon into 4 equal sections
No, it’s okay you just cut it. When I got my first pair, I was confused too. But now I just cut then and I’m okay.

I used this video as a beginner. The video made sense to me and I didn’t get confused, but maybe that’s just me.
when she said fold it in half, it’s for a bloch elasto-rib. it’s a ribbon that has a price of electric ribbon where your heels go.
