My husband and I used Andersen windows when we built 20 years ago. No regrets! A floor installer accidentally broke one last year and when we ordered a replacement, a representative told us it was still under warranty. They shipped it to us free of charge!
Love that little, "I guess so," from Maverick. He's never going to forget working with his dad, and getting that arm around his shoulder. He's so proud of you. Thanks for being such a good dad. Windows are looking so beautiful.
What a difference , Wow . The view is just lovely , you will find yourselves standing at that window and just looking at the scenery I am sure . The widow itself appears to be excellent . You have waited so long for this , what joy .
I saw another builder do it the way you did it, cutting the wrap flush with the opening and I thought about you and how you explained your modus operandi. Good job
Doug, I put Andersen in about six year ago I think we went with the 200 series Fibrex on both in and out and that was because it came in the color we needed and the wood yes, would have been nicer but then the staining. I just wanted the window in and not further work. I can say we did the same UV protection for our south facing windows and it does make a difference from the Georgia sun. You made a good choice. Save the Andersen stickers that are long and tell the rating and gas and it also has the window number on them put in in a binder and make sure NOT to peel off the smaller white sticker on the window that correlates to the big sticker in the binder, as that is how you will be able to get warranty work done when you need it.
Oh boy windows ❤! Good job family, your home is really extraordinary and the chosen products are exceptional quality. So proud of you. How are the plants doing in their beds, what fun you’re having building your beautiful property and home. I hope y’all have some great veggies to eat and share your harvest with us. Be well and safe and much love to all ❤
My husband and I have never done anything near what you two do so………I love building through you two. It looks like so much fun when someone else is doing it. 🤗❤️
Awesome work. I really enjoy watching y’all because you take the time to explain the process. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to seeing what’s next. 👍🏻
Great job. I love how well you explain everything. I think I could actually replace a window from the knowledge I have learned from all of your videos. Hugs and love from Mississippi ♥️
Hi family, Ohhh wow! Congratulations on getting your windows in. Yayaya,,,it looks waaaay to nice I love it. Hi Maverick 😘 So good to see you guys! Be careful, stay safe and God Bless y’all sweet friends ❤
Looking forward too seeing the other 3 installed! I love the dark instead of the white frames, and your humming was a pretty priceless bonus! Made my heart smile. I thought, "Doug is pleased today." ❤
I can hardly wait to see your finished product. You both have worked so hard to bring it all together. So much thought and heart has gone into your home, not to mention the blood, sweat and tears....That I'm sure there have been. I admire your dedication and work ethic. My best to your beautiful family. I look forward to your posts. Thank you so very much for sharing 😊
That was excellent, Doug! Nicely executed. You gotta let Mav tear a piece of that window film off. He 'may' not have another chance until builds his own home. Great video! Bye, Mav! Bye ladies.
I think the side flashing will be great because of hurricanes. We went through Hurricane Opal. It rained almost sideways for 24 hours. Even though we were almost 3 hours from the Gulf, our neighborhood took a beating.
Oh wow, that window is really pretty and I will really be looking forward to seeing all of the other windows installed, things are just looking so wonderful, I am loving the look of your house as you keep working on it. Thanks for a great video and I hope that you have a blessed and happy rest of your day, sending love and hugs, bye! 😂🤗👏🙌💜💜💜
I have an Anderson storm door and it's awesome. I've had it for over 15 years. Last summer the door handle wore out. I called Anderson. I had a lifetime warranty on the door, so they sent me a new door handle at no charge. Happy customer here! 👍🤩
Hooray!! Windows finally! And they are beautiful. I know that you will love your dining room and all the beautiful views; a gathering place for meals and so many other family activities. You did a great job explaining how and why your windows are installed. Your experience is knowledge learned. Many DIYers need to know your expertise. Thanks, Doug!
When my house was remodeled in 2008, Anderson windows were installed, I went with the dark brown exterior, they tilt inward so I can clean the exterior from the inside, no more climbing ladders to wash my outside windows, Ashley is going to love that. I went for the windows with the panes inside (? Don’t know if that’s what it’s called) but my place is a Cottage & I wanted to stay with that cottage look.
Wow, more progress. The windows are beautiful. Your thought and care into every detail is amazing. I am learning every time I watch you do a project. Be blessed ❤ 💙Hi Maverick 🍭💙
these are great!! my dad was a lumber salesman and he abhorred vinyl windows!! he built his retirement home in a community and the standard were vinyl windows but for all the reasons you stated , he HAD to have his wood windows. he got them. they were beautiful!!
I'm glad you finally got the windows. Appreciate you explaining the install steps. You do all the homework, we benefit from your easy instructions 😁 thanks!
Thanks for the thorough explanations. Many viewers are unfamiliar not only with the particulars of installing windows, but also unfamiliar with much of DIY stuff. Also, your showing the products you use is hugely helpful.
Doug very good way to install windows. I watched last fall a renovation where they did no flashing to the sill. Then they caulked everything including the sill. After the weather was cold she put flashing around the window. More diyers need watch you DO IT RIGHT!!!!!
Aww, little Maverick, I guess so!! Trying to be helpful!! 😁 so cute!! That is a nice view. You really made the land look nice too, along with how good the house is coming along!! Everything is looking great!! Good work!!
I love that you guys got your windows, yay! The window looks great. Thank you for explaining how to install a window. I wish I could get new windows in my living room. They are huge. But I would need someone to install them for me. Looking forward to the next video.
We Installed Andersen and it’s my understanding they want sealant under the flange at the screw holes on three sides and won’t warranty the window if you don’t follow their installation. I installed in the same method as you except we cut the Tyvek one inch wide of the opening so the window wrap sticks to the subsiding away from the opening. Love the windows and love flanged windows. When I see builders do the X it fortifies my reasoning to build it myself.
Your poor back! I hope you do things to look after it. Once it's put out it is never the same.😢 Love the black though especially if it's with a dark siding. Little Maverick at the end haha so cute and is getting to be a good helper with filming 😂 Love from 🇬🇧

I made the mistake of going to Home Show and talked with a rep re windows. My home has 30 windows, 3 are not 'normal' sizes so they would have to be custom. Installation was almost as expensive as the windows. Not everyone has a multi-talented family member with amazing skills. I do not have voice-mail activated. I also received endless calls. You probably talked to a company affiliated with Anderson called “Replacement By Anderson”. I have dealt with them and yes they are very aggressive for sure. They hounded me for months after I tried to get someone out to repair a glass section of my Anderson aluminum window that was leaking between the panes of glass. The guy there told me that the entire 3 panel window frame would need to be replaced, costing around 2 thousand dollars. We were selling the house so I decided to call a local glass company and they came out and repaired just the section that was leaking for just a couple hundred. I will never call Anderson for repair again.

Hi Doug and Ashley! Doug, nice explanation on how to install a window properly! Love the window, looks really nice! Glad they finally came, you sure had to wait long enough!
Yes Anderson Windows are expensive but you get what you pay for. I put an Anderson window in my kitchen over 20 years ago. It was constructed the same as your windows with a wood core. The window looks as good today as the day I put it in.
The window looks beautiful! Our daughter and son-in-law put two Andersen exterior doors and a sliding patio door on their house and they love them! Really keep out the Minnesota cold.
Anorther great episode :) I'm binge watching the playlist that starts from the beginning. Iwe followed you guys for years but iwe never watched the kokomo episodes exept for the metal detecting.. I'm currently at where you just finished the roof and getting the house ready for sale. Warm greetings from Iceland 😀
Your yard is looking so good now. All the work you have put in is really showing up nicely. Great job on the windows. It really changes the look of the house. 😊
"but it is an Anderson!" the entire time you were talking i was thinking the same thing , then you said it , God bless! im cracking up my thoughts exactly
Hi Doug and Ashley, I know how busy you are and that making video's is time consuming...but I'd love it if you could flash us a quick "before " picture of whatever space you happen to be working on.
We have Anderson windows in our Pennsylvania home now for over 25 year's. We like them as they don't leak plus easy to clean also. My husband put them in. We have a store near us we purchased them at. So for us we like them. Great job Doug! Look forward to hearing what you have to say in the next video.
I prefer Simingtons . Easy to get. Great windows. Used them on My house. And last year for my sun room addition. Not cheap but not crazy priced. Old school company from the early 70s. Thanks nice work on the windows. From. Sc.
We have had Anderson windows in our house for 45 years. Fantastic windows. They were worth the price. Not Renewal by Anderson. But Anderson. (Two different companies)
They are the same only difference is Andersen is just new windows. Renewal is the replacement windows. What lead to this was people were buying the new windows cutting off the flange and then screwing them in from the sides. This would compromise the window and Andersen was getting a really bad name for their windows. That is when they brought in the Renewal by Andersen. They don't let anyone but themselves install the windows for replacement. I found the windows to be garbage. We had 18 windows installed and a door wall. Complete garbage is being nice. They leak air, you can hear them whistle, ice builds up on the doors and windows and our humidity is not high in our home. The door wall is hard to open, they have replaced it twice already and coming out in May yet again to try and find out why the windows are icing up, whistling and not sliding correctly. It has been a nightmare to get ahold of anyone in a management position. I asked for the management to reach out but never did Multiple times I called, I reached out on Facebook nothing after being promised multiple times they would. I finally called the corporate line and got someone as the local area would not help or return calls. Our old Andersen windows were just as bad. Never would I recommend them to my worst enemy. I am glad your windows are better then the experience we have went through and still dealing with for over 6 months. The sales guy pitch was we come out ounce and you never see us again. He said it was because the window are so well made. I have come to find out is it because they just don't return calls.
We paid big money for Pella…horrible window! Leaks, the glazing weeping, just bad! Went with Andersen for the rest, and patio door. Wood inside, clad on the outside, best windows ever! It’s all based on each individuals experience! We have a cabin, and replaced those windows with Menards “best”….and the are great! Warm, no leaks, and for the north woods of Wisconsin no less!
@@gail2616 good to know about Pella and Menards thanks for sharing. I'm extremely disappointed because we paid $45,000 for these and they are horrible and considering they installed them makes it even worse.
@@tboettge2 the Menards windows are vinyl windows. We were surprised with them actually, and didn’t want to spend a bundle on windows, because we had a ton of renovations to make! Haven’t replaced them! They tilt to clean, and came with screens too.
My parents put Anderson windows in our house growing up, they were very expensive but good quality. My husband and I replaced all 23 (66" height downstairs and 60" height upstairs) windows in our current home in 2014 but we ended up going with a local Mennonite company. They are of course vinyl, but they have internal grids and are double hung tilt in for easy cleaning. We had them do the install too. We are VERY happy with our purchase! We had Comfort do an estimate and they quoted us more for 9 windows than we paid for all 23!! I really like your installation method, Doug! I'll be referring to your videos for future installations! Now I just need you to do a metal sided pole barn with window and garage door installations! 😆😁 P.S. Looking forward to part 2!
I love seeing y'all flourish in Florida. Ashley seems like she's in her element these days.
My husband and I used Andersen windows when we built 20 years ago. No regrets! A floor installer accidentally broke one last year and when we ordered a replacement, a representative told us it was still under warranty. They shipped it to us free of charge!

Omg i love Maverick. His "Bye" and "Guess so" made my day. I love looking foward to your next videos.
I love it when maverick chimes in and says “bye”!! He’s so darn cute!! ❤
This video was an unexpected treat. Belle will certainly enjoy her own room. Maverick is such a joy. His smile is priceless!
What a difference , Wow . The view is just lovely , you will find yourselves standing at that window and just looking at the scenery I am sure . The widow itself appears to be excellent . You have waited so long for this , what joy .

I love our Anderson windows and French patio door. They have lasted over 20 years.
Nicely done, Doug. The people that built my house thought caulk is a structural element.

Congratulations on the windows. Looks great. Good presentation and simple explanation. Thx
My father and then I have always used Andersen windows. Never had any problem with them in Minnesota, and me once I moved to Georgia.
❤the window look great. Hi Maverick 👋
The window looks beautiful! Our daughter and son-in-law put two Andersen exterior doors and a sliding patio door on their house and they love them! Really keep out the Minnesota cold.

I like seeing your choice of 3/1 windows. Also like the color. 👍
Looks top notch. Amazing work and thanks for the video take care

@@tboettge2 the Menards windows are vinyl windows. We were surprised with them actually, and didn’t want to spend a bundle on windows, because we had a ton of renovations to make! Haven’t replaced them! They tilt to clean, and came with screens too.
The windows look amazing. 👍
Ashley is lucky to have a great handyman who can do everything
P.S. Looking forward to part 2!
I've had good luck with Anderson windows
