I've done a lot of jobs using this exact machine with my husband. When going from latex to acetone paint he pumps clean gas through the prime and then the gun. Then he pumps warm not cold but WARM WATER through the prime then gun before blowing latex paint through the prime and gun. Reverse the process to to go from latex to acetone base paint. Acetone is to damn powerful to run through these machines alone to clean. They're not like old school kellycrisswell you can run lava through those paint machines lol
I have the same machine and only run latex water base. I have never had a problem. Hopefully u get it figured out. When u do. Let us know what it is so we can learn about these machines as there is not alot of info/videos on this topic. Thanks for the content!!! ( i use RODDA paint)
I used to switch from water based to solvent often and you switching the hoses is the best call. I could clean the machine out very thoroughly and it still have issues. I would keep an extra packing kit with you incase too. Solvent based will forever be our go to. I dont know what sellers you have near you but the better solvent based ive used is transline armadillo traffic paint.
If you use SW Hotline, switch to Ennis Flint. I get clogs nearly every time with SW. Haven't gotten one with Ennis Flint. If you have to use SW strain it a couple three times.
How do you mix your buckets of paint? Check your dates on SW paints. They sell paint that are a year or more old. When I buy from them, I make sure to have them put each bucket on the shaker before I pick them up. Latex settles and if it don't get mixed properly it can cause problems. Not saying you don't mix it well but it may be part of the issue. I switched from SW to Ennis Flint and love it so far. Also, when you clean your machine do you clean where the filter is or change out your filter? Seems like you are getting the water coming out and the thicker material is staying in there.
It could be the paint but I also wonder ,have you taken out the prime/ spray valve that you are turning right there? There could be some foreign material or something clogging the end of it just a bit, i have cleaned my valve on my 3400 a couple times this year and even replaced it once. I have never changes hoses when changing paint especially when going from latex to solvent based.
Hey, thanks for the comment. I haven’t taken the knob off just yet. That will be my next troubleshooting task. My reps and people that I talk to said it’s good to do it but not necessarily demanded. I know that latex is more prone to build up in the tube over time and just wanted to be 100 % sure. And it made for a cool video. Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it
@@TheStripingGuydid you take the ball out and clean it? We have two 3400s at work and they give us problems as well. Line paint drys so quick especially on hot days. We constantly have to strain it
@@TheStripingGuyalso Graco has a great customer service team that will walk you through whatever you need. Titan doesn't do that. Call them up. They helped me a lot. You probably just need to clear out that ball inside ya pump.

I’ve got a Center line and we plan in switching

Yo, thanks for the trouble shooting. I switched paint machine rubs just fine. I guess it was the paint. I no longer like water bourne 😂

Please show a video of how you switch colors with solvent.
I've been beating the living crap out of my 3400... Not once I've gotten a clogg brother... I'm striping Sam's clubs and massive plazas 🤔
It’s killing me. It’s gotta be the paint. I’m using a new paint tomorrow so we will see. I’m sure that’s what’s wrong

Where were you getting paint from? What brand?
Hotline latex.
I switched to set fast
Graco or titan? Can only choose 1
Graco, 3900 is phenomenal.
Will be getting next.
@@TheStripingGuy you will enjoy the 3900. I run a 3400 and a 3900 , the 3900 is a lot heavier but a better painter.
Strain that latex paint before.
I strain it every time 🕰️
