Shawn's 1966 Chevy Impala SS 396 Big Block 4/Speed Manual

Our buddy Shawn spent a couple minutes with us and talked about his beautiful 1966 Chevy Impala SS 396. One funny thing about this car is that when Shawn went to look at it he didn't know it was a manual and assumed it was a automatic. Shawn is a super nice and personable guy so if you see him at Donuts or a local show make sure to say hi.

I had 2 of them. One was a hard top 1 was convertible. I love these cars.

Nice ride!! I used to have a white 66 with blue interior and fender skirts. I always thought silver with a black vinyl top looked good on a 66.

Never seen one with a manual shift before, but I've imagined it! I've also imagined a Lincoln Continental and a Fleetwood Brougham with 4 speed manual shifts! 😆 🤣

I had one of these except mine had a 2 speed power glide transmission. It was a 396 SS. I wouldn't spin the tires. The motor threw a rod with about 60k miles.

I worked for a dealer and he took one on trade and I took it home one night it had a 396 and Automatic in the floor and that thing would flat run!

I've found quite a number of them with 396 and 427 six six super sport's but by pass them as im done with manual trannys. My focus is 65 convertible well optioned. I couldn't bought a six six 396 convertible restored... past on it being red on red on red.. too much red.

Hi there sorry so late they are headman headers. Had to massage the drivers side a little but they fit good. They are long tube 👍🏼😃

My 66 SS has a front fender antenna and it was sold new in Florida and the plant it was manufactured in was Atlanta. Have the original build sheet.
