Saikat Chowdhury I must agree with that, I also believe that in order for anybody to be able to teach anything, you need to come across with a great personality, so to make the other person willing to listen to you.
Jamie has certainly great cooking skills (in fact, I think he's better than many Italian chefs too) and he just comes across as such a nice guy!

Agreed, this was very confusing! What he actually did was make chicken STOCK from a roast chicken carcass, then use it as the base for a MUSHROOM soup.

Tip for you guys: when making a stock roast the bones on a tray in oven and get a bit of blackness going. Then boil with aromatics to get a really nice , deep , rich stock. Learnt to do it that way in japan

One clove of garlic??? That's pathethic. If you are using garlic, you should be using a minimum of 3 cloves.

This was really, really good! For me, the broth came out a little short in qty and the bread could have used a wipe of olive oil. Not complaining or picking faults, just sharing to possibly help others.
This video just makes me happy. I laughed mischievously when he dropped the crostini (a.k.a. chicken Titanic) into the soup.
I love soup!! Its delicious, nutritious, & economical. You can take a bit of this or that leftovers & create something so comforting.

When I make chicken soup, I add a whole mild chilli to the homemade stock and a sliver of root ginger. Taking them out when the chicken bones come out. Then I blend the carrots and celery and onion, Then I chop more veg and cook it in the stock with chicken meat. If I want to thicken it, I will put about a tablespoon of rice in when the fresh veg goes in when I season.

I love Jamie but how this recipe annoyed me. The stock wasn't cooked long enough, the chicken wasn't taken off the carcass.... I could go on. Who the hell has lemon in Chicken and mushroom soup?

It was made for a show. Nobody really cares about the quality of the product. And yes, it's not a soup, it's meshed mushrooms and chicken sandwiches. Also, he added hot water 🤦♂️ instead of cold.

Just making some chicken soup now and looking at recipes while I wait, mine has most of these ingredients except I also added parsley and red lentils and will add milk/cream to make mine a creamy chicken soup. Just love a good soup.
Hey Jamie i am a huge fan from Pakistan and i would love to try your recipes BUT, almost all your recipes and recipes from other chefs aswell have ingredients that are not available here. Most commonly mushrooms, avacado, celery, thyme, rosemary, oregano, breads other then the usual common one, toast maker and oven. Please make something that we could also make at our homes. I don’t understand the broth, am I supposed to just add boiling water and leave it? Or am I to cook it for an hour before starting the soup?
