First time seeing the channel? I'm HALF PEEPS (aka peeps4321 or Samuel). I make video game animations here on RUclips, mainly using SFM (Source Filmmaker, animation software running on Valve's Source game engine) and S2FM (Source 2 Filmmaker, the updated version of SFM running on Valve's Source 2 game engine). Most of my videos are related to Valve Software (mainly Half-Life and Portal) but don't be surprised if another franchise pops up occasionally. Starting RUclips back in 2013, in 2020, I hit my first 1,000 subscribers (took me long enough, I know...) and subsequently hit 10,000 in 2021. My ultimate goal is to reach 100,000 subscribers. Half-Life is a series of first-person shooter (FPS) games developed and published by Valve. The games combine shooting combat, puzzles, and storytelling. The original Half-Life, Valve's first product, was released in 1998 for Windows to critical and commercial success. Players control Gordon Freeman, a scientist who must survive an alien invasion. The innovative scripted sequences were influential on the FPS genre, and the game inspired numerous community-developed mods, including the multiplayer games Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat. Half-Life was followed by the expansions Opposing Force (1999), Blue Shift (2001), and Decay (2001), developed by Gearbox Software. Portal is a series of first-person puzzle-platform video games developed by Valve. Set in the Half-Life universe, the two main games in the series, Portal (2007) and Portal 2 (2011), center on a woman, Chell, forced to undergo a series of tests within the Aperture Science Enrichment Center by a malicious artificial intelligence, GLaDOS, that controls the facility. Most of the tests involve using the "Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device" - the "portal gun" - that creates a human-sized wormhole-like connection between two flat surfaces. The player-character or objects in the game world may move through portals while conserving their momentum. This allows complex "flinging" maneuvers to be used to cross wide gaps or perform other feats to reach the exit for each test chamber. GlaDOS saying "Chell" is so weird. You never hear her say it at all in the games, and it's so strange to finally hear her name spoken out loud by any character in the game. Either way, great animation. Genuinely made me excited half way in for something that isn't even going to happen.
At the end od his/its speech, I think she/it said "ciao", that mean "bye".
It's like a new "hasta la vista, baby" thing, but in italian.

I fully expect valve to one day just be like "oh, we've been working on portal 3 for the past 10 years and it releases tomorrow" with absolutely no warning whatsoever.
That would be such a valve thing to do.
love the trailer, the only problem with it is that GlaDOS' lines don't match up with the series itself. At the end of portal 2 she states that all along you were her "best friend" then she proceeds to say that the best solution is the easiest one, and killing Chell is hard. and tells her not to come back, so the only way i could see GlaDOS' lines making sense is if there was a bit more backstory on why she wants to kill her again.
Unless she’s gone mad, which I could see. But yeah I was thinking that too.

И выпуская любую игру где они будут наплевать на лог того же портала или халф лайф они всё будут оправдывать мультивселенными и мы не получим чёткой истории

I would absolutely snap up anything portal/aperture related. Hell I own a 1:1 portal gun replica. However I accept that sometimes it's better to let something be what it is. If they think they can do it justice I have little doubt they'd expand on the series.

It's how she says these words that would get your reported with this almost emotionless voice that also portrays her own anger, she is such a brilliantly written character.
This is an amazing animation. I can already imagine the plot if this was a real game.
In this game you play as a combine soldier who is given the task to investigate a strange facility that has been detected near city 151. Upon exploring the facility you come across GLaDOS, who you decide to try and kill on your own, after she blocked your communication with the citadel. But when she decides to cast you into the facility, and are forced to complete all of the decommissioned puzzles to get back to the upper layers, something strange happens.
All of a sudden you begin having hallucinations that make you question your own self. When you finally make it to the upper layer, you have completely forgotten that you are a combine, and what your original goal was. Eventually instead of trying to kill GLaDOS, you decide your goal is to escape the facility, and find a new meaning to your life. However, to escape the facility, you must face the dilemma of wether to kill GLaDOS or not. As you realize who she, and you truly might be.
That's definitely a interesting idea and could work.
Forget the hallucinations. Subtly shift the genre from puzzle to horror as you approach the surface to change the goal from securing the facility for the Combine to escaping with your life.
What this also needs is a GlaDOS who doesn't care who you are or where you are from, and never gets personal, to who you are just another test subject, another datapoint in the statistics; but she's always there, always watching, always silently judging.
That you are essentially a military android cyborg for a foreign power, combined with the facility being abandoned and in disrepair with the AI in charge oblivious to your nature, should give you the illusion that you can easily secure and conquer the facility at first. You should have unexpected non-human abilities (like not taking fall damage, not needing sleep, zoom vision, stuff like that) to make that point.
And I think you should not enter the facility alone, or try to secure it alone. It should be a whole detachment, several squads, and interacting with your squad should be "single player co-op" like with Alyx in Episode 2. Until you are the last survivor of the detachment.
There could be puzzles leading to and in the initial test chambers that are like the co-op puzzles in Portal 2, but requiring more people, and which you can solve from several perspectives depending on how you interact with the others, which path you choose to go.
Imagine the replay value.

Imagine if:
-Half-Life 3 is when they go to the Borealis to finally defeat the combines.
-Portal 3 is Glad0s's POV of the combines invading her place.
It sounded more structured in my mind, but oh well.

@@theemperor5321 If Gordon Freeman can travel to Xen and defeat the Nihilant, driving the Combine from Earth can only be the first step of the campaign.
Also, the Combine have already done significant damage to Earth's ecosystem. It will require the cooperation with other worlds to prevent Earth from looking like Xen did.
The objective is not to destroy the Combine commonwealth, but to seize control of their technology, infrastructure, and logistics. (Technically, Earth's tech is superior, but the industrial base and manpower is not there.)
This fanmade trailer gave me the same euphoria Erik Wolpaw's interview gave me. Very well done! The intro felt especially official, but GLaDOS pulling a 180 with her personality threw me a bit off. Fantastic animation!
Man this looks too real, the lighting was so good, and i loved the use of the aperture science innovators logo, and with the combine checking out the facility, AAAAAAAHHHHH i want this to be real so bad, portal 2 is one of my fav games, gimme portal 3 already ValvE

@@stargacha2453 It was probably removed because it doesn't make any sense. Since she never says your name it wouldn't be the last time she says it, it'd be the first time.
If a portal 3 does come out I feel it would be better if chell was left out of it. I feel her story had a nice ending and was all tided up at the end of portal 2. But very well made and I think an orange box style game would be best for a portal 3/ half life 3 combo game. Sense the universes are one and the same.
I think it would be better if the game was from a "random" combine soldier, and at the end of the game, it turns out the soldier was a captured and brainwashed Chell, and GLADoS uses her to defeat the Combine and then starts harvesting the earth for test subjects.
I both love and hate this so much I have conflicted feelings
Or maybe.... Chell learned of the Combine's pursuit for the Borealus and wanted to come back to save Glados.

Or, maybe Portal 3 could follow Chell away from Aperture, as she ventures out into a world already ravaged after the events of the Half-life series. Who's to say she didn't take a portal gun with her? Instead of treading through the same massive building for the third time, the story takes it out into the world outside Aperture.
Nobody reads descriptions except a few. I rarely read them too, but just so you know, i read yours, since you produced such an amazing short trailer and asked me nicely in the description, you earned a sub. You absolutely deserve 100k if you have continue on that path.

This is so good! Literally right after I watched this I started thinking of how this would align with the original lore, and if this was an actual game, what the gameplay and walkthrough would be!

I love the fact that you're taking into account that Aperture Science and Black Mesa fought with each other over government funding, then the Combine came and then it went to shit. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how a grunt is in the facilities.
Its like a last hurrah for aparature science. Black mesa was destroyed long ago, yet only NOW has the combine found aprature, and is trying to get knowlege from it.

I love the trailer! But I would have done the first scene in a different order. I would have started with the helicopter, followed by the Valve logo, and then a Camera Pan downwards onto the Companion Cube. I feel that would start with a _”what’s this?”_ feeling, and then a follow up _”Oh, THIS IS IT!”_ sort of feeling. But still, Incredible concept!

The story is a about Glados, she`s trying to defeat the unknown enemy from surface, while the combines trying to defeat the unknown technologies.

Very cool! I love how since its been years since Chel left, a full hole in ceiling revealed a way for the combine to enter. Perfect tie in to the whole valve story in general. I am astonished.

This was super well made, I just don’t get why Glad-OS would pull a 180 and go from her not caring and wanting you gone at the end of portal 2, to hating you and trying to kill you again. Also, why would Chell be back in the portal 2 research facility after trying so hard to escape, and being told never to return? Great video either way.
I think those lines were used because they were real unused lines from Portal 2. Using anything other than Ellen McLain’s real voice as GladOS would be jarring since everything else is so good.
The reason she pulls a 180 is because she erased Caroline the only part of a human left in her
Well in the trailer the combine have made it to Aperture. GLADoS most likely blames Chell’s leaving as the reason why it was exposed.

On the other hand, the line about wondering when your [Chell's, really] name is going to be said for the very last time is ABSOLUTELY CHILLING, and so in-character; I LOVE IT.
If I remember it right, it's from one of Portal 2's cut endings.
I just thought of something. The blue eye could possibly infer Wheatley’s conscience, or a piece of it at least, still within GLaDOS’ mainframe. No other core/AI had taken over GLaDOS’ body up until Portal 2, so we may never know what the future repercussions of it are. Hence the unexplained anger GLaDOS spews at us throughout this fanmade trailer; Wheatley is still mad at Chell, despite him wanting to go back and change his ways. At the end of the day, he’s not just a regular moron. He's the product of the greatest minds of a generation working together with the express purpose of building the dumbest moron who ever lived.

Ugh, this was so well made 🤩. It makes me want a 3rd one even more.
So convincing, I thought it was official because Half Peeps sounded like Half Life and for some reason my brain thought that meant it must be official. XD Then I heard the voice line "Did you ever stop to think..." and I knew that that had been in Portal 2 (or at least, it was UNUSED). All in all, EPIC.
The concept of "Portal: Thinking with time machine" 's plot was so good, im sad it was so short and insanely difficult

I think a Portal 3 would be like starting from the outside ending from portal 2 and the sky transitioning to a simulation screen as in that was the beginning test.
This is so well done. I was genuinely wondering if this was real, and was going to open google or wikipedia to look into it until I saw the comments. That's really great, you made it look so authentic. Awesome work!

I had doubts that this was real… bought in to the idea that it could be once I saw “Valve” show up and then realized it was a fan-made passion project soon after
All I known is that when heard that Portal 1 & 2 were being re-released I was certain that it was to gauge interest for a potential 3rd, which would be the first three-quel from Valve… and then I see this… but not be official

I was so sure she wasn't speaking to Chell.
My headcanon is that she'll keep an eye on Chell and that will, in the end, lead her to fight the Combine, and help the Resistance. Perhaps she'll just want the Borealis back, perhaps she actually did not deleted Caroline and genuinely wanted to keep an eye on Chell, but I never saw Glados as a real enemy, and will never be. I want her as a friend in the next one. A real friend.
Althought, the other comment saying that the blue eye is a part of Wheatley should do the trick for me, that's acceptable to fight her if it is to "save" her. I mean, she saved us twice, time to do the same for her.

I could def see the cross over, the combine give her test subjects and she gives them tech.
