Hi, I’m a CKD patient for 11 years and I don’t eat beef burgers and I do believe it slows down the progression of my CKD.
It doesn’t. Doing an alkaline very low protein diet does 😊 this is normal in other countries for treated kidney patients to bring back kidney function. However, this is not being used in the US 🤨
Would you tell us what do u eat pls. It's very baffling..what to have exactly for the 3 meals with high potassium and high blood pressure?😥
@@tamtamtamtam340 it depends on your level of Kidney function
Was told oranges and tomatoes are a no. They are a high level fruit.
Yer same.
And sour cream..
Tomatoes, tom juice and passata are high in potassium, I heard Oranges and mandarins are ok, as long as they are small, many websites have differnt lists so it is very confusing, I just started my low potassium died and everything says "eat this, and don't eat that" but look somewhere else and some of the don'ts are in the "do's".. I will have to get a dietitian I think.
@@ZeliardFTW Good luck. My client only got a print out. When asked for more help on meal planning with recipes for dialysis, they said dialysis cookbooks. They are mostly before dialysis and have bad items, multiple servings. On top, they keep getting items crossed off the can eat list. It's a nightmare.

Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for your efforts. It will be great and helpful if you could include in the amount of nutrition information per serving especially for dialysis friends. TQ.
Happy birthday sjs h

Hi. I liked you video. My mom is a diabetics and high bp patient. Now her kidney issues started abd doctors said ckd patient. Doctor asked not to eat tomayo, cauliflowers, banana and slso potato after straning like you showed. Sge does not want to eat as sge lijes tasty food. Can you please advice me what soup or sandwich i can give her that is tasty and also not harmful for ger health. We use soyabean oil. Hope it is okay
Can you double boil legumes after pre soaking to help reduce potassium?
Man that’s a lot of protein
Yes we need help in what to eat thank you soooo much for your video 😁🙏
Nice tips. Thank you. We need more of these. But a quick question, Aren't sweet potatoes kidney friendly food?
Not if u have high
potassium issues
THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
This woman has said several things that are, in fact, questionable. I wouldn't trust some Renal Dieticians further than I can throw them.
I totally and wholeheartedly agree.
@@sunnymagnuson1809 I had a renal dietician help me lose 55 lbs.
Find your questions and put them, may get solutions, either from this "woman" , as you pronounced or from experienced or doctors or patients or.....
Worried ? All right..
Don't be furious, try to thank for genuine help offered to you or at least do not kill the Godly instincts thy try to help humanity.
Aamin...
And what are those questionable things?
Can someone tell me what I can give to my dad for breakfast please! Hes not on dialysis but he was told he has ckd
EGG whites and vegetables in it... stinging nettle . Dandelions and horsetail TEAs and they have cauliflower hash browns.
EGG whites muffins are good. Praying for his healing. 🙏
@@yvonneoliver4564 thank you for sharing!👍🏻👍🏻💗
Its more important to not give him SUGAR, STARCHY FOODS, GRAINS or SEED OILS. This includes but is not limited to, Bread, Pasta, Crackers, Oranges, Banana, Watermelon, Potatoes, Canola, Honey, Rapeseed, Sunflower oil, refined Olive Oil (labeled just light, pure or plain Olive Oil), Oats (all grains are bad). No processed foods or fast-food.
Because we have gone past a threshold we are now left at a point where we need to limit Fruits and sugar laden "natural" foods.
Breakfast is 4 WHOLE EGGS done any style in real butter or REAL Extra Virgin Olive Oil (like Cobram brand) and an avocado (chop it up and add a dash of real Himalayan salt) or pepper. This is approximately 500 nutritious calories.
This is only a general guideline but a person needs around 2000 calories per day but this depends on activity etc.
If your dad is at a early 1, 2 or 3 CKD stage you must cut out all sugar. Stage 4 and 5 have different requirements but still Sugar must be cut out at all costs. It is what has caused the issue in the first place. Unless he has a genuine autoimmune condition.
It would be wise to invest in a Blood Sugar Monitor and do a test in the morning, and 2 hours after meals.
Safe levels in the morning are generally 6 mmol/l, 108 mg/dl and this after a meal. Your dads will likely not be this unless hes taking a blood sugar lowering med. Dont worry it can get to this point without meds, it takes time and research.
I would suggest having 3 complete meals a day and not snacking or if he does want to snack eat the snacks with the meals. A hand full of Walnuts is an example of a snack even with the antinutrients it possesses.
I dont know what medications they have your dad on but these will also have to taken into considerarion. Statins, Diuretics, Insulin, Blood Pressure Tablets, . This will complicate things because you need to monitor certain things like blood sugar, blood pressure. The doctor will be monitoring GFR.

I would read the Keto things suggested and maybe Carnivore diet only. But at this stage Healthy Keto-like is fine.
Isn't beaf high in protein.protien should b taken in less quantity.
Hi Ashok! Everyone's kidney diet needs are different. A dietitian will go through your needs with you, including how much protein intake you should have. More information can be found on our Kidney Community Kitchen website: www.kidneycommunitykitchen.ca/dietinformation/renalfaqs/
I was told tomato based are not recommended. Jus saying. Looks delish though
where is the potassium has gone ? does it analysed in the drained water?
When I drain my potatoes after a few mins cooking I use boiling water the second time. Am I wrong? You hvd used cold water?
I love this presentation.
Need to get my CKD down.

I was put on a low phosphorus diet and was told absolutely NO TOMATO OR TOMATO SAUCE. I would have presumed that would mean no salsa either. Hmmmm
or salad with tomato.
No tomato in any form
Your right, nothing that has tomatoes
I'm ckd 5.i don't eat a burger more than once a month.
how is red meat kidney friendly?
It's not. She lost me when she mentioned beef. I stopped listening to her. If thats what they're teaching young renal dieticians nowadays, they should get their money back from the institute. Beef is high in Potassium, as is chicken (not as much as beef) and fish. This chick is trashed.
Eat them all fuktard
Contradics what my Dr. said……
What if you have high blood pressure and diabetic and stage 3 cfd
Is red meat permissible in a renal diet
Yes but
No to much
GREAT Idea for a meal.
No animal protein period for me ...
Thanks baby,
Try to suggest vegan kidney friendly recipes, that shall ba accepted by everyone and surely not harmful to kidney warriors.
Appreciated your suggestions. Thanks.
Did I see black? Was the burger burnt? That wud make it poisonous.
Beef is not allowed for kidney patient cause it can higher your creatinine level. Also 🍅
I was told - meat the size of the palm of your hand is ok to eat per day.
Yes ground beef especially has a higher potassium level. However beef cubes are way lower, and much better for you,
No potatoes! High in oxlates.. especially if someone has had kidney stones.
Really??
That patty was burnt lol
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Eggs whites only preferred. Then about beef and sauce I don't think it will work for kidney patients. Again the recipe is totally too much of potassium, sodium and phosphorus.... anyways we can follow leaching method for most veggies

Potassium is K+. K has a different designation for a group of 2 nutrients which are vitamin K1 and K2.
Theres eating once a day, and eating the same dishes consisting of low potassium foods.
The problem with these low potassium diets is theyre also high fruit sugar and this some would say is worse for kidneys, and that is true.
Do not eat potatoes at all. They are high in starch and high glycemic. Instead eat Lettuce or Cabbage seasoned with extra virgin olive oil, pepper, dash of salt or butter but not both.
2000mg daily defines a low potassium diet. Customise on this or even 1500mg. Just google the potassium levels for different LOW SUGAR and LOW POTASSIUM foods.
Dont assume meat is low potassium, lots of meat are extremely nutritious so they have high potassium levels.
I thought the woman was good. Showing me how to lower my pottassium in potatoes. And about the beef is good. You can have red meat twice a month.
Every one has different rules it seems. I haven't heard anything about "twice a month".
Isn’t that too much starch, potatoes and burger but?
*STRAWBERRIES ARE HIGH IN POTASSIUM*
No they aren’t
@@MN02319 my dialysis nurse said they are.. I've been given wrong information. Thanks
Sad to say that these nurses are misinformed with a lot
Is she insane? A burger 🍔 Meat is not kidney friendly diet!
Watch the Japanese guy! He says kidney failure even people on dialysis has been cured in Japan with a diet of brown rice, vegetables and fruits, ckd down to 4.2 then even further to 1.2 or whatever, don't know if I have kidney disease but, gonna try eating this way for a while, definitely no hamburgers, or red meat.
5 years ago my kidney function was down to 9% and doc said dialysis was inevitable. I started eating primarily brown and white rice, low potassium veggies and fruits, avoiding all meats/dairy as much as possible. My kidney function has stayed between 15-19% over the last five years--no dialysis yet. (The messages are always so confusing when it comes to online dieticians/videos--"Don't eat meat. Avoid high potassium foods"--here are some great kidney friendly recipes including burgers, steak and spare ribs...
I was told "no brown rice" white rice is ok but not brown. This was info from the my local dialysis center. They held a seminar on foods to eat for ckd patients.
@@lynnfendlason4277 - what did you eat to avoid becoming anemic? We need some protein to keep up our strength.. Beans are not allowed because of potassium. (congratulations on your sucess)
@@grandmajane2593 I was fortunate in that as long as I avoided tomatoes potatoes brown rice and other high potassium foods I could eat a serving or two of black-eyed peas each week and I never had a problem with being anemic.

Sour cream is not kidney friendly
