Ok, I felt a little stab in the heart when you put Gigabyte at #30 🤣. But anyway, interesting exercise. I think we have some overlap in the top 10 shades, but a lot of my faves were in your bottom 10. I have been planning to do a ranking of my fave shade in every Pat palette but this was also really fun. I will add it to my to-film list for sure!

I knew it would be VR Fire opal. It’s so distinctive and the use of it on Angel Evangelista in Pose. (When she is at the pier and Mother Blanca picks her up in a yellow taxi cab) and I recognised it on her immediately!!
You know I love your hand swatches! Our number 1 is the same! But it would vary from there. Great idea for a video. I feel like a lot of full on palette rankings can be the same, but it’s hard to imagine many people having the exact same rankings for the special shades. I wish you had been able to grab the Nocturnal Nirvana quad before it was finally gone. I think the Rose quad is the only one still available. I want her to do more quads of the special shades, but that limited edition release was available for like 3 years. I don’t think they sold as well outside of the Pat collectors. It’s a shame. I don’t feel like I need any more of her mattes but I’d love some more special shades. I wish the pans were magnetic too! 😩
I recently subscribed because your tutorials are beautiful, and nobody else does those generous hand swatches where you can really experience the colors. It was SO much fun seeing all the special shades ranked. Thank you!❤☺

What a great idea Martina! I love the swatches and just seeing all the blitz formula in or special shades in different Pat McGrath palettes. For me, I think my number one would be the pink in Bronze Seduction and 2nd would be your first rank. The pink cause it's my go to for an elegant look. Not on your face but shiny and glittery enough to glam up the look. My husband likes my eyes when I use that one!
I’m honestly surprised you don’t have any of the blitz astral quads that have all special shades. Ritualistic rose is a must have for pat collectors. But I really liked this video it was fun to see. Especially cuz everyone really does have different personal opinions. A lot of my favorites are lower on your list and a lot of the ones that aren’t my favorite are higher on your list.
I also love ritualistic rose. And the red in bronze seduction is one of my fav shades of all time. We all have different favs. Was so an interesting video! Loved it.
Such a fun video ✨💫🌟 Yeah, I knew the number one 💛💚 This video also helps for inspiration, without having to pull out all your own palettes- cause that is the one annoying thing, as pretty as the packaging is, it’s a pain to pull the palettes out for using and put them back. I totally agree with quality of special shades and the other shades in newer releases vs. the first ones!
Yayyyyyy I ordered the Mothership V a couple of days ago for my birthday because I can see myself using every shade in the palette and I think that they would all go well with my skin tone (fair/light with golden undertone). Plus I've been watching people swatching its special shades on RUclips for months now and I've always thought that they're the most beautiful haha. The dark mattes scare me a bit but apparently you can also build them to be very light so I'm super excited! I was hoping for you to rank it first while watching this video and I'm just sooo happy now haha. Love from Italy 🇮🇹

Astral Solstice is my top fav, it just transforms any look into magic! Love how the base doesn’t have much color , makes it that much more universal. I’ve also really grown to love Blitz sextreme, it makes for such an interesting Vampy dark smoky eye. The copper from midnight sun, I only wear in the fall but OMG is it the perfect Fall shade, Visually what I love doesn’t tend to be what I actually wear a lot, like Astral Amethyst I $*&# love looking/swatching at this shade but just don’t wear it much, maybe that’s on me tho…I need to find a way to make shades like this “softer” and more along the ascetic I’m into currently. Love looking at the blues & golds, but never wear Blue …golds I’m super picky about the tone/depth.
Your #1 is my all time top 1 shade too 😍 And the reason I decided to try and fall in love with Pat McGrath formulas. Any chance you could post a picture of your top 10 with shade names (and palette name or number too) sometime in the future? It’ll be so helpful to keep as a note to myself as they align really well with my aesthetics too 😇

I really enjoyed watching your video, since I discovered your channel four motherships found their way to my collection and I regret nothing 😁 As for my favorite special shades, they are yours least favorite, I love the gold and the multuchrome from Huetopian dream, which is my #1 pat palette and it is very interesting to see how it is about personal preference, I hate mauves and only wear golds/browns !

Its mine too! it is so much fun to swatch them, literally makes me happy when I swatch them. If love the PM special shades you gotta try Ritualistic Rose! Also highly recommend Devinah or Clionadh for the shifty multichromes! There are some that lean more wearable. If you watch Milly or Angelica Nyqvist, they swatch them all out so u can take note at what you like. Super helpful when deciding to purchase because they are a little pricey. Anyway, sorry for that long rant, loved this video and I love those special shades, I do agree on the gold rankings, I don't use those golds either. Not my cup of tea.
But the ones in her new palette are not her usual special shade quality? They look really good but in comparison to all the others, they are not baked. And for me personally, that's what I love about them.

If you layer Gigabyte or Gigabyte 2.0 (that's what I call the one in Briderton 2) over the triochrome from Huetopia, you might feel differently about it. Just sayin'..(will probs comment as I watch)
@@MartinaLily yes the ritualistic Rose astral blitz quad is still available before it gets discontinued forever. It has 3 or 4 all special shades. And the celestial divinity quads have one special shade each too in case you're interested but they're otherwise boring quads

There’s a great blue brown duochrome that makes me think of the shade in Moonlit Seduction plus it has a great cool light brown that is a great transition shade. I really think you’d like it. Anywho I digress… thanks for ranking those. I know you will have put so much time and thought into doing so- I don’t know I could rank mine! It’s like picking between your pets or children hahaha

Im not gonna lie. I wanted to get myself a pat mcgrath mothership and I really did consider moonlit seduction just because of VR sextasy (instead I bought a single from Cliondagh that looked pretty similar). Honestly this video validated me.
in terms of depotting, i've had luck depotting my pat palettes by laying them on a hair straightener with a sheet of baking paper between them. leave it on for two minutes or so then carefully pick them out w something thin and sharp. the pans are magnetic but i just rearrange them within the motherships with a hot glue gun : P also for the special baked shades, there's no pan. be careful to wedge your tool into the thin plastic grating holding the shades together while prying them out.

Our #1 and #2 are the same! I literally cannot use Bronze Seduction without using Fire Opal. It’s so beautiful!
Bronze Seduction is one of the last Motherships for me to get cause I'm just not that into browns, but it's still on my wishlist just for Fire Opal.
