According to UK Column, a not small amount of the weaponry is lost to the black market as soon as it gets there. Ukraine was totally corrupt before Russia invaded, so no reason to believe it has managed to clean that up while fighting Russia.

@@c431inf He’s been making claims like this since the war began. I think he needs to qualify his predictions as opinions. Someone with his experience is naturally going to be regarded as an expert, and I’m sure he is, but he’s made predictions throughout this conflict that didn’t come to be. I don’t think anyone can predict what Russia will do as their “reasons” for this are not coherent.
As far as inaccuracies, I’ve heard Col. MacGregor say that one of the drivers for this conflict was the suppression of the Russian language. I’ve been to Ukraine many times and heard folks speak Russian almost exclusively in business settings, and often socially. This is past-tense as they avoid it now, but certainly the Russian language was not oppressed or even discouraged in every day life. Perhaps he is saying this was Russia’s justification, but he should add that Russia was spreading propaganda.

As I understand it regardless, the majority had no desire to join Russia. Not everyone agrees in the US on policy, and various hot-button topics, but very few are actually looking to secede.
@@c431inf He’s been making claims like this since the war began. I think he needs to qualify his predictions as opinions. Someone with his experience is naturally going to be regarded as an expert, and I’m sure he is, but he’s made predictions throughout this conflict that didn’t come to be. I don’t think anyone can predict what Russia will do as their “reasons” for this are not coherent.
As far as inaccuracies, I’ve heard Col. MacGregor say that one of the drivers for this conflict was the suppression of the Russian language. I’ve been to Ukraine many times and heard folks speak Russian almost exclusively in business settings, as well as socially. This is past-tense as they avoid it now, but certainly the Russian language was not oppressed or even discouraged in every day life. Perhaps he is saying this was Russia’s justification, but he should add that Russia was spreading propaganda.
