This is a very important topic! I own a portuguese passport which allows me to go practically anywhere in the world and I am fully aware of that privilege. I also value more the experiences one has in a country rather than the number of countries one has visited, not only because of passport privilege or the lack of it but also because of financial reasons. Some travel influencers should keep that in mind before advertising the "travel to every country" way of travelling. That is not for everybody, only for those who were born in a privileged bubble. Keep raising awareness for this topic ✨🙌
Hi Trish! I just found your channel and am really enjoying your content! When I was a kid in QC, I dreamed of going and visiting every country in the world. As I've gotten older though, the more I realize how large this world is and I'd much rather visit family & friends all over the world than visiting a new country once every few days.
I really find visa processing unfair for people from developing or poor countries like the Philippines. I remember spending a lot of money for just a 2 week trip to a country requiring visas.
Things used to be hard before but now you can buy passports, even Freedom passports and documents on Insta sell documents. You also have countries in the Caribbean that sell citizenships
Found your channel at this time when I wanna escape the country and travel elsewhere but visa considerations weigh my decisions down. Im so down from the recent election results. Another six years of tedious visa application process/es and possible rejections. Thanks Trisha! 🥺🙏🏽
Wow! Thank you for the education 🙏. I was not aware of any of this. Really appreciate you dropping the knowledge bomb! Now I know better, and will act accordingly. 💛❤💙 Sending you warm wishes and safe travels.
You’ve done very well Trish. I had to do the same thing as you did...diligently apply for visas for countries I wanted to visit using my Philippine passport. Unfortunately we do not have the strongest of passports in the index...thus we have to provide evidence that we could travel and pay for our holidays. I was lucky enough that I had proof that I could pay for my vacation. Not all Filipinos could do what you and I have done though. Filipinos who travel overseas normally do so to seek employment. Some use their holiday visas and end up overstaying for work. Those countries tag Filipinos so it makes it harder for the rest to get visas for those countries because of those particular incidents. Anyway, that’s my 5 cents worth of thought. Enjoy your travels...and stay safe.
Interesting video. And I love the cameo of the dog! FYI. Lexie Alford is about the 200th person to travel to every country in the world, not the first. But she is the youngest person to accomplish this.
The common thread to me is that the countries with a weaker passport have this status due to colonialism and or a powerful country not respecting their sovereignty and uses the excuse "freedom" to take over and partake in proxy wars.
Hi Trisha, I just started following your channel after stumbling across researching, "Is Mexico open to Filipino travelers". My fiancé is a Pinay and I am American. We are thinking about moving to Merida Mexico for 6 months to a year and get married while there. Any advice?
Hola! Siendo mexicano es claro como en la embajada gringa deciden otorgar o no la visa basados en prejuicios de raza y clase. La ciudadanía de origen es solo la primera capa.
Simple lang ang tinitignan ng mga bansa: will this person be a TNT in my country? Kasi if tourism lang ok lang kasi papasok na income un sa kanila but if you are there to “steal their jobs”, it’s another story
I don’t think na kailangan mo pa ng “cultural immersion”. Ung makapunta ka lang dun pwede na. Bucket list na un. Like can you do a cultural immersion in North Korea? How it feels like to be Kim Jong Un’s slave?
Hi Trisha. Thanks for an excellent and informative video. I’m Filipino. But I have a US passport. So, I’m able to travel to many countries visa-free. I hope to see the world when the pandemic is over.
actually a Mexican passport is still very privileged by third world standards, you can enter my country Tunisia visa free , I can't enter your own. having a 128 visa free ones is still a privilege
Real Cultural Immertion, while posting on Instagram every 12 hours? Real experience? That Egotistical desire is damaging so many local cultures. While it is really great to be going the off the beaten track... most people are just Hypocrites. It has nothing to do with time, one person going to a place for 1 day can have more satisfaction than some who spends 7 days and stayed 48 hours editing videos to be uploaded on social media, where friends pretend to care about the video.
Speaking of hypocrites I'm glad she showed this shot. 4:20 I've lived in Japan and Korea where America spent God knows how many billions rebuilding and now protecting and they have been success stories. I never understood why that same commitment wasn't afforded Afghanistan where there were over 30 Universities. Millions of girls attended school and there were more women in the Afghan parliament than the parliament's of Europe and the US Senate. So why didn't we see women's rights groups in the West support the gains made by Afghan girls? Instead as this video shows even liberals didn't support the advances made. Especially sad now looking at their situation. Of all the money America wastes protecting rich countries like Germany, Japan, Korea and Israel I thought at least seeing Afghan girls going to school and even going bowling and eating disco fries was worth my tax dollars. Kabul had 3 bowling alleys. ruclips.net/video/uo-92W4e-Es/видео.html
I think a lot of white Western travel bloggers completely ignore this, or maybe are not aware... I'm not sure!. I'm guilty myself though - I've been moaning recently about losing my right to work in the EU with my UK passport and having to take a tour if I visit Iran. However, I realise I'm still very privileged to have a British passport because it still gives me visa free or e-visa access to so many countries. When I went to China I moaned about the paperwork I had to fill in and the cost of getting a visa, but now I realise this is very normal for citizens of most countries when they want to travel abroad to any country. People with high ranking passports are very lucky and this inequality definitely needs to be discussed more by travel bloggers (especially those with high ranking passports). I also agree with your point which says: '
Since you’ve been to Latin America, which is a Spanish colony like the Philippines, masasabi mo na corruption talaga ang dahilan bakit mahihirap ang mga bansang sinakop ng Kastila. Ang paniwala ko if we can have a President na mala-Lee Kwan Yew ng Singapore na both may iron will and utak, kaya nating malampasan ung “Spanish culture” kasi nga ang Intsik corrupt din naman. I worked in an SG insurance and ubod ng dugas ng mga Singaporeans sa claims. Samantalang sa Australia, maluwag sila sa claims. Meron nga akong dineny na Australian pinarevise pa sa akin. Kasi honest ang Australians. So even if naturally dishonest and corrupt ang mga Intsik, if we have a good leader like Lee Kwan Yew, magiging 1st World din tayo and we will also have a strong passport like theirs.
I hope the currently popular "woke culture" propaganda hasn't found it's way into your videos. "Privilege passport" sounds elitist when it's really about the ranking of a country economically and not about ranking the people in the country being "better" in some way.. Obviously countries don't want people coming in who may end up staying and becoming an economic drain.
Japanese people aren't well traveled though. Wala ring kwenta. No ingrris. Kidding aside, they do not really travel unlike the Chinese or even Koreans.

Passport inequality is so real and it sucks big time. I'm from Nepal and have experienced the unfairness in visas. Wish the world could be more fair.
I thought that Nepal has the “Gross Happiness Index”

Just buy it.
Define "unfairness".

Interesting topic Trish! 👌🏼 Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching, Martin!!!

For me, the basic indicator is the strength of the currency or the exchange rate. Un ang nagdedetermine ng economic ranking ng isang bansa.

Interesting footnotes, thought my business is into travel you have a very wide interesting ideas. Good report and informative.
Thanks for this info! I learned a lot ❤️
As always, thank you for being here!
Would it be wise to get a stronger passport, or will that create an altogether different set of complications?

Mahirap na din magtravel ngayon kasi pandemic kailangan vaccinated ka kasi pag tinamaan ka ng covid sa ibang bansa mahirap na
For me, it’s common sense. Ang Pinoy nag-iibang bansa para mag-OFW. Ang Puti nag-aabroad para magtravel.
If it’s just airport and then popular tourist spots , that doesn’t count as travel for me 😅.
And that passport thing is bs and unfair.
This is why we need to get married so you can be a U.S citizen ❤😍🥰
