Thank you all for the upload suggestions. I will be using some of them in the upcoming weeks. Please let me know what you think about this video should i try to find other weird pieces of gear to test? Thanks folks
i think anything you give us will be welcome by us all at this time bud. Cheers for Vid and you and your family stay safe.
Thanks Joe fun vid
Yeah , honest reviews of tools are always good. You arent sponsored by them so tell us what could be useful and what not to bother wasting our money on.
nice. I have often thought you should get your self good Machete to cut branches and smaller trees. Good Machete would work like this one, but double the power.
Build small log shelter, with woodsman trades. Join with drill and wood pegs, etc. Shawn can teach you trick or two.
Greetings from my quarantine at home in Iceland. Been re watching those old trips, 10 days 10 items, 8 days, stranded etc. Those can be watched more than once. Well done and thanks!
Stay safe
This kind of tool is very common in Finland although they are much simpler and I have never seen one with a saw. I think this one is designed more for North American market than it is for Finnish. We call them "vesuri" in Finnish and they are used for delimbing falled trees and are not really meant for hacking or splitting. Oh and Fiskars is a Finnish company, not Swedish. It's the oldest Finnish company still in business.
They don't even sell that here in Finland, both vesuris they sell have solid back of the blade.
TheApina Canadian here, I was just about to correct him. Definitely not Swedish lol. He’s playing with fire 🔥 haha
True, really meant only delimbing and that billhook on the end is there precisely because of that: making sure that the thin branch does not slide away or the edge won't slide away from a thin branch. Sure it can be used as an axe in a pinch but it should be judged as a secondary action for it. The saw part is the same thing, added bonus not meant as a primary saw.
Finland was a part of Sweden when Fiskars was founded (and 150 years after that) and the iron used was from Sweden. Fiskars has not been Swedish for 200 years though so I think we can agree that it is Finnish today :).
Sentäs joku muuki ymmärtää että Fiskars on Suomesta
How about gear care post camp out? Cleaning, air out, sharpen tools things like that.
Excellent suggestion! I know Joe will be doing his reel maintenance for the spring, that could be a good one. Not exactly “post” but same idea.
Mary Hawthorne great idea
Nobody:
Tripper, directly into Joe's mic: WRGGGRRRRRRRGGRRGGRRRGGRGGR
Sounds a bit like Scout...although Scout whimpered a lot.
Sounds like snoopy
best part of the video TBH, loved this moment
Atlas Tennyson sounds like dirty panties
I wish I could have a wonderful pet like trip. Animals make my day.
Tripper is 100% puppy in a big dog body!! He's got a crazy streak in him, but he minds really well. He'll be a great companion as the puppy grows out of him. These videos work!! Stay safe my friend. Crazy times have only begun.
Today we’re gonna be testing.... wait for pause... THIS THING, lol good to have you back making videos joe
As Fiskars is a Finnish company, I would say that tool looks very much like a "vesuri" (billhook?) with a saw accessory. In Finland we mainly use those to remove branches (with the peek/hook at the end). Usually we have one guy with a saw/axe knocking the trees done and the other guy strips the branches off the trees on the ground with a billhook (while the other guy keeps knocking trees down). Usually kids start out by helping with the billhook, before they graduate to using and axe/chainsaw.
Fiskars is Finnish not Swedish. :)
näin O sootana sentään
Yup, Mora comes from Sweden, Fiskars = Finnish ;)
Huhu oli kamala virhe...
im offended
nobody cars
Oh, I love it when you stop to point our things like the squirrel action! Love when you throw in those bonuses! Surprises for all!
I like that this isn’t titled “WEIRDEST SURVIVAL TOOL OFF AMAZON!” It’s something unique
Fiskars is actually finnish Joe, its Finlands oldest company founded in 1649. Great video as always, cheers from Sweden
tripper off cam sounding like a constipated Sasquatch lol
I know, I was like shit I hope that was the dog and not a bear....
Samsquanch* XD
Fiskars is actually from Finland, oldest company in the country that is still running.
Torilla tavataan PERKELE! 😁
Tripper talking the whole time is hilarious.
That dog is HIGH VOLTAGE!!!!!
I have one of those tools. I put an around the whole thing. Now it’s a survival tool, in the truck for emergencies, self defense, garden tool, and zombie killer. Slash, hook, push, two points, and edge on the back for roots n stuff. It’s bigger brother is also worth ‘adjusting’.
Greetings from Scotland on lockdown Joe. Thanks for keeping us entertained. Stay safe.
I swear that dog's tail has a life of its own. Reminds me of a cheetah's. Very cool looking.
he looks like an Akita Shepard mix but he has marble coat...
@@werewolf74 I thought he was a Belgian Malinois
Great video, Praying for the whole world. Staying home is all I am doing..thanks for sharing and stay safe.
I Liked the video. Not too long and not too short. LoveTripper he really is well named. He is a “trip”. He is just so funny. No matter how excited he is with his toy, or whatever he happens to be playing with, he I very obedient when you say out. The reaction is almost instantaneous. What a good and smart dog.
Joe stay well, you and your beautiful family. You are right, this is unprecedented in our lifetime, it is a good way for families to spend time together. May God bless and protect you and your family now and always, Amen.
"Don't take any of my wood." Tripper sits down and starts chewing on a piece of wood. ROFL
should have done a review on the thick plastic packaging as well, because nothing cuts my fingers like that plastic
I once spent 20 minutes trying to pry open a packet of headphones I got while at the airport
10,20,30, minutes. Enjoy all the vacations we take to Canada while never leaving our farm in TN. On the bright side ten minute vids mean we can look forward to a new short adventure every night. Stay well you and your family. Time will pass and Corona will once again be beer.
Product reviews are one of my favorite. I miss the outdoors since the military. Just don't know how to get back into feeling free again. Thanks Joe. Look after one another even if they are not family. They are just our "Extended" family. Compassion is really needed now.
Love the videos. Unfortunately, I’m considered “essential” so I have to work. But I’m alone at work and out on the outskirts of town so I see lots of wildlife and views. So I’m good there. When home, I’m relaxing, doing some much needed projects that I’ve fallen behind on and partaking in adult beverages.
Again, thank you for your videos.
Fortunately as a security officer I'm considered essential so even if we do get quarantined I still get to work and bring in money to pay bills. I feel bad for people who can't work but still have to pay bills with no money. Thank the good Lord that I still have work.
LordVader same
I love hearing Tripper's growly voice; he has so much to say, lol. Good video, thanks. And, Happy Anniversary to you and Wil.
I think the shots through the campfire smoke make it feel like we are there. I know, it's a huge no-no in camera work, but we don't have to be professionals... when the audience would rather it be 'real.' Thanks for making the effort at reviewing this tool.
My introduction to Canadian Tire was 30 years ago, and was a very pleasant experience. I broke a crank shaft outside of Whitehorse, got a room when I hit town and sought out Canadian Tire at first light. A gentleman (mechanic) there, name was Rocky Holt, he took very good care of me. I was hole-up in my hotel room for four days while a new crank was trucked up from Vancouver, in the mean time, Rocky did all the prep work, had a machine shop check the align bore and had me back on the road in no time when the crank arrived. This was no minor repair, the V-8 had to come out of my car. Solid work on his part, great folks to deal with. I appreciated them immensely.
Tripper's vocalizations are hilarious. He's so expressive while fussing with his toys.
That Fiskars tool is sort of the multi-tool of the machete world. I'd file a 90 degree sharp spine where the blade comes into the handle for the fire steel striking chore.
That’s the ticket. Like hangin’ out with the neighbor guy for a few minutes and askin “what’s new”? And then he pulls out this war club and says: “check this out”! Good show.
Loved the video. I love them all, short, long, no matter. Just listening to you blah blah blah is very soothing for me. Keep em coming buddy the world needs you now more than ever. 👁🦉👁
Joe, I just want to say that I appreciate you being comfortable in your skin. It is enjoyable watching you being a dork at times. Life is too short to not enjoy our own little idiosyncrasies and faux pas. Continue on your journey and best wishes to you and the family during this trying time. Scout, forever!
Thanks for reviewing this. I've picked it up a dozen times and put it back but now I see with some modification this could be pretty useful. After all, it's a garden tool.
0:49 Uh... Fiskars is Finnish not Swedish
Close enough.
@@2Skinny Fear the wrath of Finns coming down upon you for this ;D
@@2Skinny Most Finns consider getting called Swede as insult. It somewhere on par of calling Irish an Englishman. Basically there no Finnish literature pre mid 1800's because during Swedish rule all Finnish literature outside of few religious texts like bible and catechism was banned. We Finns basically define ourselves by not being either Russians or Swedes.
@@robinstrand3555 no shit dude, it was a joke.
@@762rk95tp or perhaps calling a Canadian an American? Sure Joe's had that one. Chill out FFS.
8:21 My stomach at 4am when I’m dozing off watching youtube
Thank you for continuing with content at this time. Much appreciated. Much love. Stay safe and healthy!
Keep bringing it, Joe. We appreciate you efforts, concerns and expertise.
7:00 that is exactly what it is meant for, to clear tree branches from felled trees.
22:48 😂🤣 TRIPPER CAN FLY!
Thank you Joe for a video. Doesn't matter the length of the video, I love to watch them all. Please keep up the great work.
Thank you, Joe. I hope you and yours stay safe through this pandemic. After watching some of your videos I picked up a Silky Big Boy. I can see why it came from Japan. Might as well be a katana. Still extremely lightweight and I look forward to years of use with it. Thank you again.
0:49 You just gained 5 million enemies...
unsubbed instantly
😭😭😭😭
Well, what do you expect from an ""American"? ;-)
Nah, come on folks, we all make mistakes, indeed I wish ther ones I've made were so small!
Swedish / Finnish is there really a difference? JUST KIDDING!!
Matthew Hamilton Ha Ha. You just insulted all Canadians!!! Just in case the Swedish and Finnish didn’t get the joke.
Tripper has a bit of energy I've noticed.
he's getting very strong
I keep one of these in the door of my van. I use it in the eastern woodlands of Kentucky for briars mostly. I appreciate Trippers commentary off camera😃
..all stocked up.. checked on family.. they are in metropolitan areas.. luckily there are service and important work to the community so they just need to hang in there..
My wife and I now live in a very rural area in hill country Texas so no cases, yet..
My wife enjoys quilting more and I can work in our garden and enjoy our bird watching.. (sit'n stay) Bousch is a good naturalist, too!
looks like they kinda patterned it off of a woodsman's pal
Lmao, he really like that ball.
30 minutes!? Well done Joey! Cool tool! Thanks for another video! Thanks for doing your best to get us content! We all appreciate it very much! Best wishes to you and the fam, man! Much love
*LOVE* videos like these Joe! THANK YOU.
Fiskars makes some good tools for the buck. I use mine a lot to clear bamboo around my property.
Love how there more Content I don’t mind if it 10-15 minutes long
9:07 mark Bigfoot runs past in the background! Tripper didn’t even notice ha! Great vid! Nice review!
Thank You for sharing your knowledge and skills with us. During this time of uncertainty, watching a video like this really helps. God Bless You!!!
Find some more wierd tools Joe this is pretty interesting/By the way good vid.
In fact Tripper sounds like a bear with his growling and moaning keep up the good work trip
Yay! Hey Joe! great stuff as always man. I've always looked at those and wondered about it.
Congrats on the 19th wedding anniversary. Very admirable. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yes, I saw Scrambled O’s video. Did my heart good to know he is alive and well.
That hook tool seems like it might be especially good at clearing brush and taking care of pokies.
What am I doing while staying at home? Mostly helping others. As a Network Engineer and Apple Developer, I have been helping other countries, one state in the USA and many businesses who were surprised by the reality of “work from home” being difficult. Right now, I am helping people because it is the right thing to do. Not trying to be a scumbag by profiting from this. If they want to pay me anything after coronavirus is just a painful memory, great. If not, that’s ok too. I am content in knowing I did the right thing. Not sure if you remember me Joe, I am the guy who asked for your permission to put your pic in the About / Info popup in my iPad and iPhone apps.
Nice video as always. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻😀
Please stay safe.
Hey noticed you had a lot of white spots on your nails. I get them frequently. Normally for me its coz my calcium is low.
Joe: So what have you guys been doing during this time?
My wife immediately says "Well, we're watching you Joe!"
Right ? 😉😊
Hey I love your videos and have helped me with my camping experiences many times. Thank you
Tripper was hilarious.
I appreciate these videos, so many things to choose from. Helps thin out the choices. Thanks
With the aesthetic of that, looks like meat's back on the menu boys
Excellent LOTR reference. Thumbs up.
I just watched that last night
lol, i knew i recognised it's shape .. Orc weapon
I'm sitting at home with a gimp knee. Watching a spring storm coming through my area.. went from nice to crap in a few moments. My pup crawled into my lap and my German shepherd is asleep in the floor. Little dude doesn't like thunder. Everyone take the time, tell your folks you love them. Hug your kiddos a little longer, love that woman or whomever is your special someone. More time at home, means making memories, love them up and get out in nature. Best medicine in the world? Family and friends, outdoors in the bush.
Wow !!!! Tripper looks huge in this video.
Omg I love how vocal tripper is
I just came here to say it's not a Swedish brand. Looks like this has been well taken care of though :)
NOOOO! IT'S ABSOLUTELY NOT A SWEDISH BRAND, IT'S FINNISH!!!
Yeah calling it Swedish hurts :D
i live in Sweden and want to take the opportunity to make excuse for "greata" of Sweden" the sata-nical mon-ster that was let loose in the world. they say they have locked her up "because of coronavirus" but whoever lives will see, right.
anyways, i have saved some "thus says The Lord" about the coronavirus and stuff like that on this playlist:

Yeah, never say anything swedish if it is from FINLAND
Ah ah ah I love it when you Viking guys "fight". xD
Thank you Joe, enjoyed it and looking forward to more videos similar to this one.
Hey Joe..You are a great Bushman..I enjoy all your videos..You have your serious teaching side, yet you throw in little fun surprises which in turn makes it fun to watch you and that fun and gorgeous friend of yours, Tripper..Happy you and Trip are continuing to make videos in times when we need a distraction from all the crazy things going on in the world..Thank You Joe and God Bless you and Your Family..

Thanks, Joe. Keep it up. Maybe another video showcasing your knives. Never too many knives.
Very useful tool, for what we need to do at camp. Thanks Joe.

Love the blow by blow commentary by Tripper for all your K9 fans watching!
loving these short vids joe. thanks for uploading!
I'm loving these short videos. Weird pieces of gear are always a plus, along with small details such as care and maintenance of equipment and cleaning up after a trip.
Hey joe! You have really inspired me to go out camping with my dad, I love your videos and I think you are a legend! Keep up the amazing work!
Love your new pack boat! Seen it at Swift when I was there love the logos especially the one on bottom of boat! Can't wait to see you enjoying it! I know I will be enjoying my new kayak!
Yes great video interested to see you trying new tools.
Love the product review. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing, Joe!
..hope your new extended family/ visitors are well..
Stay Safe!
Thanks for the new video Joe.
I just love the random Tripper noises! As always I enjoy your videos. Keep 'em coming!
GREAT video Joe! I loved the different/shorter style and that you did review a product. Strangely enough, a product I purchased about 2 months ago and just got around to using for the first time a few days ago. (Hmmmm?) I bought it for around the house that we just moved into with a wooded back yard with some overgrown vines and 20mm or less thick branches/limbs. It works GREAT for that! For those of you in the US watching, I got mine it at Ollies (for $15) but Walmart and Lowes Home Improvement sell it too. Stay safe and be well.
hey joe thanks again be safe you and family through these times god is with us
thanks for uploading anything I & many others understand it's more difficult than usual
great video Sir 👍👍✌

Thank you for continuing to upload Joe
When tripper laid down beside you when you were preparing the firewood...we could actually get a really good look at him (because he wasn't moving..lmbo). He is one fine-looking dog!
I have decided to play your videos on repeat for a good while. I could not aford your merchandise before getting layed off from this crisis but I can do this for you and your family to help out the best way I can. God bless you and stay safe. Canadian proud
This is a good length of video, Joe! Very nice!
