    Much as I enjoy the chess, I enjoy even more the self-examining soliloques.
    You're correct that there is an asymmetry between how unforgiving chess and life can be.
    Even at the lowest ebb of agony in life, recovery is always possible, and it's through the recovery that your lessons are drawn. In chess, you blunder a pawn, and you’re probably toast.

    It's a good point, I'm 1840 and my games are similar. I watch eric rosens, Daniel Narodski and another GM which I can't remember his name, speed runs and one thing I notice is they normally have less time than their opponents and still always win.
    The middle and the end game is all about calculation, generally the more time you spend on calculating, the better yours moves will be.
    I noticed in this video we can't hear your breathing 👏🏾 Yesterday we could, what did you do different?

    • @BelisaChess
      @BelisaChess  Месяц назад +1

      today I was talking the whole time 😅
      to be fair though, those gms ims etc can spend 90% of the time chitchatting etc during the game cuz they have the high speed skills to finish off the rest of the game in under a minute. the rest of us gotta use a different time strat but similar idea of using time when it counts

      @BelisaChess Hmmm good point, but they are normally talking about the game similar to how you talk the games in your videos but yes, good point

    People dont suck at chess because of their ratings. at lower levels. it's due to bad board vision, and at higher levels, it is because of lazy calculations

      yeah I think that could be mostly true, tho i still have bad board vision - everything relative ofc

      or, lower levels-no calculation at all, higher- shitty calc, then highest0 sometimes flawed

    I have a lot to say on this topic but shouldn't yap when sleep deprived. Briefly though, one of the reasons I love chess is the depth it provides and that is lost on these people that always make such shallow moves. We do all these complex puzzles but in actual games the win is "take free piece" or "remove defender".
    It is legitimately painful at times to see your opponents play like this. Maybe 15+10 would help with that, but that would be detrimental to your rating goal. I would recommend watching Daniel Naroditsky deal with people who move instantly. His games in the "Top Theory Speedrun" around the 1500-2000 range are his best content.

    • @BelisaChess
      @BelisaChess  Месяц назад

      mm i watched some of it. Some lines are really sexy though, even at this level but this day just happened to be a hodgepodge of one move blunders lol
      i agree with the beauty of depth and complexity, tho sometimes im lazy to think!

      @@JimmyChessin It's not the rating that matters. It's a player's drive, their will. I used to be rated less than 1200 in rapid at the start of this year, just 3 months ago I was rated in the 1200s.
      Guess what my rating is right now, it's 1650. Anyone who enjoys playing chess, calculating moves, thinking about positions can achieve a higher rating.
      Just this week I went from 1450 to 1650.
      You can be a better player as well bro.
      Have a nice day

    Is beyond my capabilities of understanding that 1700s resign games, when even in my 2300s games, swindles happen and they happen a LOT.

    • @BelisaChess

      u play what u feel like playing. its not all about the off chance of not losing, if it kills you slowly to play a dead lost game for another 10 minutes id rather do something else with 10 min

    1700s felt so bad to me when I was 1900, they would always just make obvious blunderes
    now im low 1700s and it feels like the 1700s are playing better than the 1900s ever did. They arent really blundering anymore and I really have to try to win positionally in order to not eventually lose
