- India, US, EU and Saudi Arabia announced India Middle East Europe Economic Corridor on the sidelines of the G20 leaders' summit in New Delhi. The Megaproject is being seen as the rival of China's Belt and Road initiative. The IMEC will enhance global trade in West Asia and also improve Israel’s position as a hub for transporting goods. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel is at the focus of an unprecedented international project that will link infrastructure from Asia to Europe. Without even having started, we read too much into imec. This is something like day dreaming. What is there to compare our imec initiative to bri. Let Chinese have their bri and we our imec and should not be a counter or offensive to any other country but a true economic corridor that help the progress of our nation and the humanity at large.

The Indonesian railway will eventually become the property of the CCP so how does it help Indonesia? The BRI is to help China. You build very fast no doubt because you can raise funds very fast since there are no checks and balances in place. 1. To counter China's BRI, which luckily has not taken off so far.
2. To pull Saudi back into the American fold.
3. To bring Saudi and Israel closer, which among other benefits, reinforces #2.
