Due to the New Wix Changes this week, if you don't see the option private members collection on the reference, you must turn it on, by clicking the collections icon on the left panel then your collections and then your collections then manage and once the window open click on more actions, advance settings, and select Wix app collections, this will solve it.

Hello sir its me again, could you please do an updated version of this video and a bit more detailed, because i noticed there are a lot of differences on newer version of wix and i cant seem to find alternative routes to those, you’re the only and the best advisor on youtube who shows exactly how to create a functional listing website, so an updated and a bit more detailed version would be golden, thank you so much 🙌

Some problems: At some point during the video, the audio is out of sync, and makes following along almost impossible. Also, at around the 18 minute mark, you have us create a multi-state box and place our form fields within that box, only to then have us delete that box, what was the point of this step in the process?
1. When previewing/testing the listing-submission (@ 31:00) the listing is created and added to the dataset, however, one of the fields in the dataset is missing ( field publicProfile). Should we create this field ourselves?
2. At 41:46 you connect the button to the listing page (Listings: Listed Name). This button is greyed out for me, any ideas?

@craftystudios5417 apologizes for the sound, I will check, what i mention about the multi state box is that you can use it or you can use a page for adding listings and a page to update is optional, if you do a multi state box follow the other video, the only reason i didn't include it here is because it would made the video longer. When you said 'If you have access to Wix Studio, I can send you the template', do you mean a template with this script already created, and then only needs modifying to our needs?
If the answer is yes, can I please have the template?
Side note: Is it possible to have multiple web sites with wix, using EITHER Wix Standard and Wix Studios? Or is it the case that if one of your Wix web sites uses Wix Studio, then , all your web sites must use Wix Studios?

- I want my users to be able to to have a searchbar and a filter section, so that they can filter their searches and find what they want faster. Can this happen?
- You mentioned that is possible, but will you make a video on how to show the thumbnail on the "update listing" so that they can see what they have and what they updated with?
Yes, we have to use some basic code but it is possible

Hello! This is a great video, thank you. In order for someone to create an account to view listings and/or the directory, must that person create an account through WIX to view their account or can the account be set up strictly through the website itself without going through WIX first?
The question is a bit confusing, so i am going to try to make best response but you can reach me here vitzael.com and i think i would be able to answer better using a video call schedule a time that works best for you. So to create an account depending on your preference you can have people submit data and you can manually approve then they can get their account approved and create their account to update and this uses Wix sign up page ( you can also create your own design ), the other option is that they can create an account first then submit and you can just approve the account or set it to manually become public, lastly you can set a membership or plan so they pay fist then create the account and then add their listing, all this can be done just setting up the right permissions on the page and collection.
Great video, very useful - couple of questions - how do i add a search so that listings can be searched by state or zipcode, and secondly is it possible from that search to have a map with the relevant state and records in that state?

Hi - great video. But when i add the reference field to the listing it only has the Members Collection under the Referenced Collection - no PrivateMembersData choice - even though that appears under the Wix App Collections tab - do I need to do something else?

Unfortunately you cant use the rich text for a text field type in the collection, you either need to switch the field key in the collection to rich text or change the element you are using, send me a message here vitzael.com if you still have questions i could help you.
I always find your videos usefull, thankyou. Just one question, can I add 'public member data' fields to Member's public page ? I am basically wondering how I can display a listing owner's profile on their listing.
Yes is possible, if you watch the tutorial i actually forgot to do it at the same time with the members reference then you can also update the fields on the public data form.

I am new to this cms and I have a question: why do we need to have the update listing page while we always can rewrite the information on the add listing page, IF after the add listing has been filled out and it still shows up for any update? Would it be redundant when the user always can come back to update the information in the add listing page? Anyways, thank you for sharing this tutorial.
it depends on how complex and how many listings you want each user to have, I tried keeping it simple, so if you have the add listing and update listing is for 2 reasons, one to avoid creating extra code to have everything in one page, also i a user has multiple listings then makes it easier not ideal but easier, then if you prefer you can have everything in one page but you do have to add more code to have a filter so you can use the same input elements to update multiple data. Do you have to have a Business Elite plan to do this?
No, you can use the free version or the lowest plan, unless you are planning to use pricing plans I believe the basic plan still works but that's because you might want to charge for memberships not because the functionality.
If you had a member that had multiple listings, how would they be able to see and edit them all? Have you done a video on that, if that makes sense.
There are a few ways,
1. Is you can create a form that looks like when they submit the data but you will add a dropdown that will filter each listing and whatever the selection it will display on the form so they can update, this uses code,
2 you can use a repeater add also all the elements inside the repeater and inside the repeater a button with update then connected to a dataset read and write and it will do the same. Send me a message here vitzael.com I can also help you super fast
On the update page, Go to Add elements - Input - Checkboxes - Dropdown and connect it to the title of your listings. That's what I did and worked like a charm!
Is there a way to set a Public search for listing type and zipcode. Like for Pet Sitters vs Groomers vs Vets and then narrow down by Zip Code as well? Is there a way to set the Members as password protected to only allow certain people to become members and have a section for members only as well as a public section of the website to see the listings?

Hey there! I'm trying to make it so clients have to pay for membership through wix plans and subscriptions and then have to enter all their information for their rental property. How do I set up with a paywall?

Which code do I use? When I follow the link you shared it takes to a list of links and I assume I need the one named "Codes for listing website". Same! I went to the website but it goes to a list of codes that can be downloaded. I don't know which one to go for.
I did everything, but the only thing I can't figure out is why when I'm on the connecting the data where the repeaters are, the public data is not showing the elements to connected them, it's showing only the private section which if i select I can't see the info published after submitting.
There are a few reasons, the type of items you added to your collection, if you can't see them at all is probably not referencing or you didn't add the reference collection and there are many more but no worries, send me a message here, vitzael.com, I will help you troubleshoot it fast and if you have additional questions i can answer them for you.

My member account page only has 'my account' on the menu item. Then when I create 'add listings' and 'update listings', each of these doesn't have a menu at all. Is there a way to fix this?

how do you filter your listing , If you want to update them ? If you have more then one listing to update

Im stuck at the listings collection it won't let me reference the private members collection in reference members field it only lets me reference the listing collection there are no other options in the dropdown section. Is there an update that changed that and if so how would i reference it now?

HI, i just find out that Wix did and update so you have to turn on this on the Advance Collections settings then turn on Use Wix app collections

How would I make it so users can make there own listings, and they would pay a membership or something to have a number of listings
Hi, if you watch this video you noticed they can add their own listing if you want to add pay membership just install the wix pricing plans and then on the permissions for adding a listing set it to the level of membership you created.

For me neither reference members nor public profile fields are collecting data. What am I doing wrong?

How do you restrict them to 1 listing?
there are 2 ways, one just set one form to read and write that way they can only add one listing, if you plan to have multiple levels where others could add more listings, then you will need to add small code to show an error and say something like, YOU CAN ONLY ADD ONE LISTING , if you need help send me a message here vitzael.com, and I can help you accomplish this or show you how.

LOL, yes there are many things that might not be available but is because originally it was meant just for anyone to just drag and drop but now they are getting better, so if you try Wix Studio you will see lots of progress.
