I think your math on the time it takes to get exalted from just AQ20 is off, it's a 3 day reset (not a 7 day reset), so at 2k per run its 21 resets ~63 days and at 3k per run its 14 resets or 42 days.

Here's my question: I'm ~200 from Friendly with the Cenarion Circle. I haven't touched a single quest in the Cenarion Hold, which I believe reward reputation. Should I grind to Honored and then do the quests once the mobs no longer grant reputation?
Ideally, yes it will be better to hold off doing the quests. Although, if you are an enchanter for eg, you miss out on getting a few enchants sooner. Also, if you get any quest pieces from AQ20, you might not have the rep required for hand in. But, getting to Exalted will be easier in the long run!

Question.. If you have 20man raid only looking for rep farm.. Can't they just go AQ20 and clear trash without engaging boss - that way they dont get lockout. Clear trash -> Out reset. do it again?
Well, you can also make some good money and grind rep if you summon Dukes and Royals. Duke's BOE sell good in ah (in my server anywhere from 30 to 100g) and you can make people bid on Lord's BOP items. If you get lucky people can bid over 300g for an item, plus when you summon 3 lords you can turn in the scepters for a box with around 100g and some great (and expensive) potions. All of this is assuming you buy the twilight sets and summon the templars, then dukes then lords. In my server at least you can buy the full set for 2 to 2.5g
That is a great idea - a Silithus summon gkp run. And great note about the Chest of Spoils. Might have to organise a raid and give it a try to see how profitable it is. Thanks!
@@DaintreeRogue It is very rng dependant, if you get good drops you are golden, but you can have shitty ones too. Make sure to fill up your raid when you are summoning the lords. The more people, the more likely it is that somebody will want to bid on an item and prices will get higher
Best way for most people: Farm to honored, DON'T do any quests in Silithus and DONT hand in any crests or texts. Just hold on to them. Once honored hand everything in, do ALL the quests in Silithus and simply do AQ20 until Revered or Exalted.

You're forgetting about aq40! "Qiraji Lord's Insignia" drops off of every boss you kill in aq40, and each can be turned in for 250 cc rep each. With 11 bosses per raid, that's another 2,750 rep available to you per week! Just gotta get out there and earn it ;)
That's a really good point, ty. I was a little unsure about how tough AQ40 will be for the average guild, or if Blizz might make some changes to make fights harder/longer. The video is nice but the formula itself is pretty terrible because it doesn't actually consider any other loot you get while farming in silithus. Your example makes farming rep seem like a 68g/h farm because you only consider the gold. Someone getting 80g/h elsewhere might think "ok, I'm better of just farming gold and buying everything" but that may very well be wrong since during your silithus farm you can also expect greens etc. that may very well itself be a 25g/h farm that could be used for additional rep resulting in a 93g/h farm, making it the better choice.
Yeah, this is a fair point and I do mention it towards the end, but we didn't see anything near 25g/h in the 5 hours we spent testing for this vid... so someone making 80g would probably still be making the right choice at that price. In the end we thought including this - or any of the other variables that we could have factored in - added more complexity than was worth it for something meant to be a rough rule of thumb. So we kept the formula simple and called it out as an additional consideration instead.

Oh that is interesting! The price on our server jumps about a bit, but I have seen the price slowly dropping and it's not too hard to get texts @ 1.5g atm. I wonder if it is going to go back up, or continue going down? I think I prefer farming gold anyway, so yeah, I'm happy with that :)

Well your private server buddies are plain wrong. Assuming you kill every AQ40 boss on lockout, and assuming you can manage 3k rep in AQ20 (no skipping bosses), it will take 36 days of purely raiding. So that’s just over 5 weeks, meaning their estimates are out by a whopping 60%. My ideas are my own and are based off my personal experience in vanilla.
Yeah I really wanted to go dwarf but went Human bc that’s what I was in Vanilla - you know, nostalgia and all that. Aged Core means the racial bonus is overkill anyway :p

There are some mobs inside the cave in the north that continues to give rep past honored (flame-something). They hurt quite a lot as a melee though.

I finished my guardian of cenarius by gathering twilight texts in sithis,sites, took only about 3 weeks of casual grinding,it wasn't that bad

I'm just going to raid instead. I'll be running AQ20 on every reset anyway might as well use my raid time to do two things at once rather than one.

Almost correct BUT better wait with the Texts till you hit Revered. You no longer will get Rep for Summoning those Dukes (only for the HUGE Stones!).
