Skoda Kushaq is the best car in this segment. Much better than Seltos and Creta in terms of power. Stability at high speed, no body roll, mileage. Very strong build quality, and if I talk about maintenance cost, that too is well-taken care of in this model. The yearly maintenance cost is around lesser than my previous car(Swift).

I think if your budget is over 17.5-18 lakhs, Creta 1.4 turbo SXO is the car you should get. It's more value for money. At around 20 lakhs, you get electric seat adjustment, panaromic sunroof, bose 8 speakers sound system , 6 airbags and a good capable turbo charged engine (though Kushaq's 1.5 is better). But if your budget is around 17 lakh then Kushaq 1.0 style MT is an easy pick. Kushaq's 1.0 engine is better than 1.5 of Creta. You get 6 airbags as compared to 2 of Creta SX, 7 Speakers as compared to 4 of Creta, telescopic steering and ventilated seats. Yes, you get standard sunroof as compared to Panaromic in Creta.
Believe me , a 1.5MPI is more robust, More refined and easier to drive and maintain than a microscopic 1.0GDI turbo. You also don’t miss much of the performance and mileage too in most cases Indian customers are not wrong in their thinking and there is no replacement for displacement
As a seltos and a creta owner....I would recommend seltos only... having driven more than 10k kilometers both vehicles... seltos is the best ...tats my opinion ...and my experience....
My only gripe with seltos(and by extension creta as both share same platform) is on the substandard build quality. Unstable bodyshell at 20L? No Hyundai, just not done. Specially considering this was deliberately done for Indian models as Aussie model scored a perfect 5* Hope skoda gets the kushaq tested. If it performs better, it will be a massive advantage
The title of the video should have been "3 Cars people wont buy, but we are enthusiastic to sell". Seriously, I don't understand the point of bringing into the comparison the petrol Creta and Seltos. Do people even buy them? The sales volume in this segment is dominated by the diesel models (At least for the two). If Skoda can't offer a diesel, it is their problem. Making a 34 Min long video won't solve it.
When you are investing almost 17 lakhs in a car, the last thing you would want is an unreliable car. That's where the koreans shine(not perfect but yeah). When it comes to this skoda, I think they released a half baked product. Yes it drives well. But if they are very serious about India, we should not see such issues which are currently making headlines. I hope all these issues are sorted out soon.
Would definitely buy Creata Diesal 1.5 against all 4. Since it offers better efficiency & torque. Believe me Hyundai's offers you the best 1.5 Diesal in the segment. Amongst the Petrol I would definitely select for fun to drive TSI 1.5 Petrol engine Kushaq-Tiagun in Active Variant only if offered. ₹2.3 lacs extra for Ambition is expensive.
Suggestion - this episode like certain others are too much dragged with lot of talking talking and talking inside the cars. Would be better if you keep it a bit crisper and get to the point a bit early. At a point I lost interest.
I wish u had included Taigun also. Would have loved to see how it compared on ride and handling with Kushaq. Also it has the more sensible top end model with 6 airbags
Donot go for DSG if you are from metro cities. Keeping the driving dynamics of DSG and reliability in stop and go. Uphill issues, jerking at low speeds. Torque converter is more reliable. Though it’s little less fuel efficient , but that is the way. DSG though it’s responsive, in sedate driving, it behaves weird, it holds revs during uphill ascent beyond 3000 rpm. DSG is designed for performance, but You don’t do racing every time
For me if it was driving feel and pleasure over anything Kushaq 1.5 manual hands down But if City traffic and features come into consideration it would be the seltos top end (with 6 airbags can’t risk safety that too when this car has achieved a meagre 3 star, 1.4 manual)
Just one question. Does Kushaq drive and feel like a typical Škoda? I haven’t driven one, but had seen the car. Honestly, the Fabia, Polo, Vento and Rapid got better fit and finish. Thus, the question.
Doesn't feel like a typical Škoda. The doors don't feel as heavy as they typically are in a Škoda in the terms of the quality. After test driving the Kushaq we straight away went to check out the Troc. The Troc's doors felt as if they completed a day's workout. But, in terms of the ride quality, interior, driveability, engine and everything else. The Kushaq surely scores amazing points.
Alright, so it’s safe to assume the watered down MQB-A0-IN is only to satisfy the first time VAG buyers, sadly these folks are going to be the flag bearers of VW-Škoda in the coming years. I just wish VAG won’t do a blunder.
Reliability and post sales service is a real horror for the new owners. DSG - “EPC errors” and vehicle stalling are a real problem from the initial owners. Really hope Skoda brings their A game there or else we are looking at yet another non-Asian company packing their bags (I am looking at you Ford).
That holds true for the DCT on the hyundai & kia as well. Any kind of modern dry clutch system will have reliability issues if not driven properly. Yes VW & Ford had bigger problems in their 1st gen twin clutch systems, but that is a thing of the past. Post 2017 the DSGs you get here are much more compliant if driven well… similar to any other DCT.
Loved the Skoda Kushaq, love the Hyundai Creta too. At the end of the day, it boils down to what you'd pick for the long drive home, and you really cannot fault with the Creta, which has been the proven choice over time. In the larger scheme of things, it's the badge that tips your decision more than anything else
@@pacificsword1632 lol. Safer. Kushaq and Taigun are yet to be tested. And both are 90% localised. They aren't same as the original VW and skoda cars. They are built in India for Indians, who prefer cosmetics over quality and also price should be low. Hence how do you reduce the price. Cost cutting in materials used. So don't expect Kushaq or Taigun to get 4 or 5 star ratings. Actually will they even be tested?
Hey team lovely video! Slight correction, @ 33:06 it's Kia Seltos* and I guess the variant you have tested for this video is HTK+ instead of HTX mentioned , so that's a little mistake 😅 Nonetheless, a great video as expected by team Evo!
If only Skoda would have undercut Creta's pricing by at least 1-1.4 lacs, they would have done much better on the sales charts. Lost opportunity and now they would also have the XUV to batter the nuts out of them.
Well said!. Kushaq , Taigun sales gonna be flat be in coming days. Very few people would go for VW mid size SUV‘s based on build quality(Assumptions). Indian loves deisel/ big Suv‘s , this is where VW lacks compare to seltos and creta. They have not done the market research well , already they have invested 1.5 billion dollars on pune plant . If 2 or 3 upcoming cars from VW fails , they need to fallow ford and GM motors path to get their stuff out of india.
XUV700 is a villain for kushaq😂, people who have booked kushaq would cancel the booking and go for xuv700. Advantages are indian brand, size , pricing , bigger engine , more power , features and more no of dealership

It's more good for Indian buyers if skoda could have given 1.5tsi in their lower varients. Atleast from second lowest, expected from Skoda 👍 But Kushaq 1.0 tsi also fun to drive.

Anyone who has been in a kushaq and creta in the same day can tell you how much better the Kushaq feels, it surely does look a bit bigger from the outside, but inside the cars Kushaq feels like a diff segment. Edit: No mention of the EPC issues :/
One thing I disagree with is when they start with saying "CRETA created this sigment", I think this segment was created by Renault Duster. Duster started it and with its success, Hyundai followed with Creta. You should give credit where due.
among these i will like kushaq in my garage because it's interior aesthetics & exterior looks are awesome then creta & more fun to drive & high speed stability is way better than creta
After completing the spiti trip we are stuck in Manali from past two days..our 4months old Mahindra Thar got towed due to some OBD Check Lamp warning from Batal, Spiti..the car is not able to pull beyond 1500rpm. The Mahindra service center tried to reduce the soot mass for last 2 days and now they are saying ordering a DPF filter is going to take another 7-8days and we will have to wait for it. Also they are saying fault is with us as we didn't do Regen while we didn't get any Regen warning. They are also saying they can't share the regen data if the warning came and for how long ,even after 2 days of analysis. DPF filter costs 70k and doesn't come under warranty. Even we were ready to pay just to join office in time, but now they are saying it will take 7-8days to get the DPF filter. Go for any other SUV it is just a good looking car and will make you feel you are driving a powerful car but it is just the feeling but in reality it is unreliable
In reality, the Kushaq does nothing special to outdo the Creta and Seltos in both it's engine options. It is a little better in ride and handling than the Koreans, but for everyday driving the Koreans are also good. The interiors, the exteriors, the space, the cabin feel and quality, the features on offer the Koreans are far better than the Kushaq.
Kushaq outdoes Creta and Seltos where it matters most, safety and overall driving dynamics. Kushaq is a car. Creta and Seltos are just smartphones on wheels.
@@anandshukla1559 i am a VW fan, but i feel we go overboard to criticise Koreans and justify every negative point in the VAG cars. Creta isn’t that bad as you’ve just exaggerated. TBH the tangible difference is marginal. You spend almost 2 million on a car not just for the sheer thrill of driving. You buy this for your family and hence it has to be a comprehensive well rounded package.
Why don't they tell about the Kushaq EPC problems and how owners are suffering because of it? None of the midsize SUVs offer anything special over compact SUV's, makes more sense to get Harrier, Hector or Compass, all of these are safe and come with genuine SUV like features.
Idk what's the fun of having a air purifier outside the air ducts inside a cabin like creta have whereas kushaq has inbuilt air care inside the air vents which is sensible and meaningful
I am absolutely convinced to buy Kushaq or Taigun.. but the nearest showroom & service centre is 250 km away. now who in his right mind would take such a risk.. so the biggest issue for these brands remain dealer network..

It used to be "SKODA" earlier. After new "Octavia" i started hearing the pronounciation to be "SHKODA" which is correct. Even "Octavia" was transformed to "OCTEVIA". "गेरेज" became "गराज". This car's name is "कुषक" & not "कुषाक" derived from Sankrit language. Every other Indian car journalist pronounces the Indian words wrong. Correct me if I am wrong.
Why haven't you addressed the EPC issues on the kushaq that have left people stranded on roads with brand new cars? In fact none of the Indian auto review houses are addressing this. Reviewers in other countries often talk about problems with certain cars and highlight their deficiencies. Indian auto reviews all sound generic and are little more than glorified brochure presentations
Firstly, why is this so called Creta segment is being called a SUV or Mid Sized SUV and not a cross over. Anyways comparing SUV’s with no real SUV capability is pointless. Wish Suzuki could offer you guys to market the S Cross which met a slow death.
I don't get it Why you guys didn't take 1.4dct Seltos over the creta. Also please don't spread false info. Seltos has rake and reach adjustability for steering. Didn't expect this from Evo
Kushaq and Taigun are priced just based on the European brand name premium. For the price they are asking, why can't they add in the cosmetics like Creta and Seltos. Even though they are making it locally to reduce the cost. But still comparatively the price aren't to less, nor do they have the cosmetics. Obviously buyers would be tempted to go for the Korean vehicles. If VW and Skoda want to succeed in India, they should target the majority of buyers, rather it looks like they are adamant that they only need the ' enthusiast' customers. And the numbers aren't many. Gonna end up like Ford, if they don't change their strategy.
I hope the Taigun has heavier steering. Although I know it won't it's worth hoping for. Kushaq / Taigun over the Creta / Seltos. However, space and "features" (unfortunately) do matter to most Indian buyers and seating three abreast at the back is looked at by many when buying this kind of a car.
If you where to compare the ride and handling of Kushaq vs Jeep compass diesel which one do you think is better(interior you can ignore ). I felt like Kushaq has a lighter steering and not sure on how it is at higher speeds.
Great Job Sir. Its a comparison of MT of Kushaq 1.0 TSI vs Creata 1.5 NA. As a baniya Car buyer would appreciate your views on Creata 1.5 simple engine technology with linear power delivery with no nonsense driving comfort in City traffic against 1.0 TSI. How good the Turbo 1.0 TSI would perform in City against 1.5 NA Petrol engine. Since Kushaq has a long traveling clutch & I did not find the Gear Shifting as smooth as Creata. Does 1.0 & 1.5 TSI require additional maintenance & how good is the Reliability. Because I have fear that incase the TC malfunctions or Conks off what is the replacement warranty & price for replacement of a TC unit.
Seltos diesel auto is most sensible buy!! creta is nauseating to drive.. skoda all powertrans will have issues and skoda will leave ppl stranded.. 3 cyl turbos will be stressed, cylinder deactivation will show loads of issues in future.. dsg dq200 is crap..add to that epc and 8kmpl in city..
How about safety of these cars? Sirish missed talking about that between the Creta and Kushaq. Usually Maruthi and Hyundai are tin cans which crumble easily. Moreover recent news of Seltos ripping apart into 2 pieces in accident. Not always trumps over the extensive feature list. From what I have heard so far the Skoda/VW cars have thicker steel for the body and the monocoque compared to Hyundai's
Also when the reviewer pointed out about the Cretas screen being slightly bigger therefore it's the best of the both hardly makes any sense. How does a few millimetres matter? Even air purifier, how many really care about air purifier, if some feels it's an important thing, which will minority in my opinion, they can always get world class car air purifiers instead of a substandard one which the manufacturer pushes on to you. It's more about quality over quantity.
My brother sold his 2013 ford figo and bought verna sx 2021 and what's his review is that i wasted money on hyundai verna he said figo was much better than verna
Dont agree with steering being too light for Kushaq, it is light but in a good way. It doesn't feel lifeless and gives right amount of feedback. Its much better than Hyundai's which feels lifeless.
Both Creta and Seltos has WIRELESS Android auto and Apple carplay So please updated that don't mislead people , b'cause it they (build quality and german lover who actully has Alto800) Will find another point to complaint about best selling Seltos and Creta😅✌
Lower end versions have wireless, top end doest have. The bigger infotainment system doesn't have wireless android auto/apple car play, whereas the smaller infotainment system(also used in export cars) has. Koreans know that Indians prefer style over substance.
I personally feel ŠKODA should have engineered a sub-4 meter car out of this new platform. Kushaq is too small to be called an SUV. It’s even narrower than cars like Nexon, Venue, Sonet, and XUV300.
These are all small urban cross overs. Also, sometimes, people like cars for different reasons and for the people that’ll go for the kushaq the cars size isn’t one of them. What part of this is hard to understand ?
Only 4 wheel drive is real SUV other all are crossover. For lot of futures & gimmick Indian's will love without giving priority for safety its fact seltos scored 3 stars and people who dream that creat will score 5stars are real fools 🤣

Good part about creta is its got far better inside out and bad part they have messed up the front side. its looks as if over make up on front side. Old version creta was far more classy and sporty also. Here grill loooks tooo wide-open. Skoda has both balance inside and out.
Why these auto journalists can't speak about the severe EPC issues I can't understand. If reliability is also a concern, the kushaq would be the last choice, at least until skoda eradicate their teething problems. The long term issues are still going to be the DSG issues since it uses the famous Dq200 dry clutch. Search Dq200 horror stories and you'll find hundreds of forum threads since 2012, and worse is issues still occur occasionally. If I'm going to buy a VAG, definitely not one with the DQ200. What's the point of build quality, if your car can stop in the middle of a highway at night. A torque converter is of the need, which is tried and tested by the hyundais.
No offense. But why is that on every comparison video on the Mid-sized SUVs done by every RUclips channel, they deliberately exclude Tata Harrier. Just curious to know.

Suggestion - this episode like certain others are too much dragged with lot of talking talking and talking inside the cars. Would be better if you keep it a bit crisper and get to the point a bit early. At a point I lost interest.
Finally a nicely balanced review without giving away too many platitudes. This is a whiff of fresh air.

DSG is designed for performance, but You don’t do racing every time
For me if it was driving feel and pleasure over anything Kushaq 1.5 manual hands down
But if City traffic and features come into consideration it would be the seltos top end (with 6 airbags can’t risk safety that too when this car has achieved a meagre 3 star, 1.4 manual)
Even the Kushaq has 6 airbags
Its strange...when i drove 1.4 turbo creta. I thought it was just not worth it. .
Evo reviews are in-depth for sure. Kudos
Just one question. Does Kushaq drive and feel like a typical Škoda? I haven’t driven one, but had seen the car. Honestly, the Fabia, Polo, Vento and Rapid got better fit and finish. Thus, the question.
10 year old car has better finish than Kushaq ? Have you ever sat in it ? You need to sit in it and drive it before making assumptions
@@ashwink6567 Read my comment again before making assumptions.
just compare the rear wiper of kushaq with rear wiper of polo ull come to know how cheap it looks on kushaq
Reviewers conveniently ignore reliability issue of the DSG box
Reliability and post sales service is a real horror for the new owners.
DSG - “EPC errors” and vehicle stalling are a real problem from the initial owners.
Really hope Skoda brings their A game there or else we are looking at yet another non-Asian company packing their bags (I am looking at you Ford).
Plus the plethora of issues Kushaq is having!!
That and a lot more
they always leave out reliability and safety
@aravind srinivasan it got 5 5 ratings in both child and adult now go and mar ja kahi jake
Hey team lovely video!
Slight correction, @ 33:06 it's Kia Seltos* and I guess the variant you have tested for this video is HTK+ instead of HTX mentioned , so that's a little mistake 😅
Nonetheless, a great video as expected by team Evo!
Well said!
Kushaq outdoes Creta and Seltos where it matters most, safety and overall driving dynamics.
Kushaq is a car. Creta and Seltos are just smartphones on wheels.

Dear @evoindia kindly do a video about the issues with the Skoda Kushaq especially about the EPC errors. There are currently countless horror stories circulating about the EPC errors.
Are you wearing a Zeppelin watch? If yes is it worth it?
I don't get it
Why you guys didn't take 1.4dct Seltos over the creta. Also please don't spread false info. Seltos has rake and reach adjustability for steering.
Didn't expect this from Evo
Kushaq 1.5 TSI is a bomb.
You mentioned seltos had a very stiff ride quality. Is it better now?
Safety performance and vehicle dynamics on all these parameters Germans are best! Creta and seltos compromise on safety…
Sir, although Eco sports is different segment car, but in comparison does kushaq is more fun to drive then ecosport??
How about safety of these cars? Sirish missed talking about that between the Creta and Kushaq. Usually Maruthi and Hyundai are tin cans which crumble easily. Moreover recent news of Seltos ripping apart into 2 pieces in accident. Not always trumps over the extensive feature list. From what I have heard so far the Skoda/VW cars have thicker steel for the body and the monocoque compared to Hyundai's
We’ve spoken about safety at 31:46
Aatish did talk about it….
Yes but not between Creta and Kushaq
Also when the reviewer pointed out about the Cretas screen being slightly bigger therefore it's the best of the both hardly makes any sense. How does a few millimetres matter? Even air purifier, how many really care about air purifier, if some feels it's an important thing, which will minority in my opinion, they can always get world class car air purifiers instead of a substandard one which the manufacturer pushes on to you. It's more about quality over quantity.
My brother sold his 2013 ford figo and bought verna sx 2021 and what's his review is that i wasted money on hyundai verna he said figo was much better than verna

Lower end versions have wireless, top end doest have. The bigger infotainment system doesn't have wireless android auto/apple car play, whereas the smaller infotainment system(also used in export cars) has. Koreans know that Indians prefer style over substance.
I work at Hyundai, SX and SXO doesnt have wireless Android auto apple carplay. Only the EX and S has it.
Hands down Skoda if they would have added a panoramic sunroof.
Hands down the Kushaq for me !
I personally feel ŠKODA should have engineered a sub-4 meter car out of this new platform.
Kushaq is too small to be called an SUV. It’s even narrower than cars like Nexon, Venue, Sonet, and XUV300.
For that matter nexon is wider than both creta and seltos
These are all small urban cross overs. Also, sometimes, people like cars for different reasons and for the people that’ll go for the kushaq the cars size isn’t one of them. What part of this is hard to understand ?
Wait for the Slavia
It has a wheelbase that’s longer than the Creta’s!
Only 4 wheel drive is real SUV other all are crossover. For lot of futures & gimmick Indian's will love without giving priority for safety its fact seltos scored 3 stars and people who dream that creat will score 5stars are real fools 🤣

Torque converter with the 1.5 ltr engine would have been a good option and more reliable too.
