  • On March 13, 2024, LLNL held a Women in Data Science (WiDS) regional event featuring speakers, panelists, networking and mentoring sessions, and other activities. Learn more about WiDS Livermore at data-science.llnl.gov/wids.
    Sarah Osborn presented "Uncertainty Quantification, Software Ecosystems for Exascale Systems, and Squirrels: A Brief Survey of Research Projects​." She explained a scalable approach for forward propagation of uncertainties for large-scale subsurface flow problems, then described the Extreme-scale Scientific Software Development Kit (xSDK) developed as part of the Exascale Computing Project (ECP). Osborn also presented the Squirrel computational framework for identifying weaknesses within critical infrastructure to help prioritize investments to increase resilience against cyberattacks, natural disasters, and mischievous squirrels.
