- Two bullets found in luggage at an airport in the Turks and Caicos led to an Orlando woman’s arrest this week, police say.
Sharitta Grier, 45, was arrested on Monday at the Howard Hamilton International Airport in Providenciales, after police say two rounds of ammunition were found during a routine luggage search.
I can honestly say as a Vietnam era veteran I have been able to live my entire seventy year life without having ammunition in my luggage.
EXACTLY…exactly.
Seriously. And it's not like she's the only person this has happened to. This is the 5th person. These people seem to have so many guns, that they're accidentally packing bullets in their bag! I've never owned a gun in my life and hopefully I'll never have to, so this wouldn't be a problem for me. With that said, there was just another story like this about a month ago. If you know you have guns, why wouldn't you completely empty your bag, then pack it and check and name sure there are no bullets in there?
@@dontbanmebrodontbanme5403 Then there’s always the rando trying to get on a plane and stating they forgot it was in their bag.

I'm sorry but why do all these people have random bullets in their possession that they don't know about?

The bigger question is how this was able to go through TSA without being detected? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
If weed gets into the US on a Jamaican flight, Jamaica gets fined heavily for not preventing it from happening, the same should go for US guns and ammo.
What makes you think the TSA checks?

Because tsa is a bunch of senile boomers.
The best solution is to check your luggage before you travel.
Ummm here is a better idea. If you decide to "legally" own guns, and ammo, properly store said items. Why would a responsible person have bullets in their luggage?
It’s wild how many people don’t do this, luggage is packed in closets and anything can fall into a pocket by accident. We learned nothing from Barry Switzer…
@@TokenBrotha Just saying, if you have so many guns and ammo lying around your house that it is in kitchen drawers and luggage, what kind of gun owner are you?

Shut tf up...they treat bullets worse than they treat drugs or bombs🙄
While I agree "their rules, their laws", 12 years for accidentally packing bullets in your bag is extreme, especially when there's no gun. Again, I get it, it's their country. But this is a country that relies HEAVILY on tourism. I don't own a gun and never have, so I can't believe I'm defending these people. But this is a very honest mistake. You're telling me you've never forgotten your keys? Left a restaurant and realized you didn't take back your credit card? I've traveled many times, only to see my wife's socks in my bag. How did they get there?
This will have people being paranoid, again, even for people like me that don't own a gun. Maybe some people simply decide not to go to Turks and Caicos. They're the only ones that lose in that instance, as there are a lot of other Caribbean Islands one can go to.

It's not against the law to have them in your checked bags as long as they're properly stored. I doubt the TSA is comparing every piece of checked-in bags with what the passenger declared when they checked-in the bag. If they did, it would delay probably every flight for something that is not a security issue. If a passenger declared they have a bunch of guns and ammo in their checked bag and it's properly packed, and are heading to the Turks and Caicos, that's perfectly OK. If you’re _that reckless_ with your ammo storage, then you’re probably equally as careless with securing your firearms. The TSA has “no obligation” to detect ammo in luggage headed outside of the U.S.

People gotta triple check their bag or just use a separate bag. This is getting ridiculous.
It's unclear whether it's a checked-in piece of luggage or carry-on. It doesn't matter. The TSA will detected weapons in your carry-ons, but it's not against the law to check them in (properly stored), and I doubt the TSA always looks at what a passenger declared at the check-in and what they see in the luggage before it's loaded in the plane (they would be delaying a lot of flights). If you have loose bullets in your checked bag and the Turks and Caicos sees it when you arrive, it's your fault. Always pack your own luggage and make sure the bag is totally empty when you start packing. Nothing in any of the pockets. The Turks and Caicos is not Texas. I doubt she'll be spending an entire 12 years there, but it will be some.
The problem is that they are able to bring them on an airplane in the first place!!!
