Hey man, you should try the mid/high rpm optional tuned pipe. Might bring your mph up. It sounds like it has the low/mid rpm stock pipe. Doesnt sound like it revs as high as my slayer.
Traxxas motors have many weak points. A bad tune, chasing motor temps, found that Traxxas Motors just are weak. 20%=safer, I've learned the hard way with two blown traxxas motors. That and in not Racing anyone just me putting around.

You could, but it would be a hard tube to keep on a Traxxas.
I ran 20% for over a year.
30% all day.
