I really missed the old outro! Thank you for the stream Fauna! The stories were more sad than scary honestly, especially with this atmosphere. I don't know what to say about the existential dread, even if we're all minuscule in the grand scheme of the universe know that you mean the world to some people
Owl Creek from Bierce was really vivid. I was closing my eyes listening and could imagine it so clearly, I can see why this is famous. Having a calming kirin voice reading it out made it extra comfy

Also I will 100% feel you on the existential dread; Ultrakill has a line about the human brain being an evolutionary maladaptation which also reminds me of a Lovecraft quote. We're intelligent enough to comprehend the concept of death and also of just how vast the universe is - meanwhile for other animals the biggest worries are their next meal, surviving, and having kids.

Despite the existential dread from the stories, hearing you read them made it really relaxing
I definitely recommend finding a chance to see the Milky Way! I saw it when I was really young and even though it's not like the pictures, it was a really memorable part of my childhood
Fauna your narrating voice is so calming and pleasing to listen to. Bonus points for getting an actual physical book, I love audiobooks as much as the next person but nothing beats the grabbing the ole hardcover, and sitting back in the big comfy chair with a lightly scented candle burning nearby. You know, of all the horror stories you read today, the scariest thing was the reminder that polar bears aren't cute and cuddly and in fact brutal murder machines that aren't afraid of anything because they don't have a reason to be.
Aside from that cruel reality, this stream was a pretty chill way to relax after work today. Thanks for that Fauna!
I listened to most of this live, but missed part of the one story (it was the one with the questionably dead main character ). Worth coming back to, even if it took me too long. I always appreciated these reading streams and their tangents, and I'm happy Fauna's whole audience will get a chance to check them out, even if it is happening for a sad reason.

I usually recommend people load up Elite Dangerous and get to the point that you can open up the star map... The game is set in the Milky Way, and it has most of the stars that are known to us. Its a great way to get a feel for how big and how many stars are in the galaxy, especially when you start doing faster than light jumps in the game and it still takes you hours or days to actually get any kind of real distance covered
If she ever gets a flight stick that would be a good game to stream with

I knew that Lovecraft was influenced by Chambers, but I didn't know there was someone even earlier than him in Ambrose Bierce.
