The conclusion doesn't support the earlier exposition of the text because it is Christ and the blessings and privileges are what has been chosen and predestined before the foundation of time rather than having individuals chosen before the foundation of time. In addition, it diminishes the idea of Christ's centrality and the idea of everything being summed up in Christ because it then becomes a focus of who's been chosen and why we should be grateful for that rather than to be grateful for all the spiritual blessings to all who are in Christ which is open to all who believe rather than all of the elect as it states in v.13-14.
