Y'know what I like? When a sequel or new update on an old piece of media comes out like 10+ years after the fact and actually delivers. It's good for the soul.
TWEWY was one of those game that happened at just the right time and place for me as a teen. I'm not sure if I'm gonna spend the time with this one (at least not right now, I should play it sometime even just to get my hands on the battle system at least) but I'm very glad this seems to have turned out to be a solid sequel.
There is a free demo version available on the Nintendo Switch so be sure to pick it up and have a try if you have the time and the console. Not sure about the Playstation version though. You'll only get access to a handful of pins and 3 active skills in a fight, but it's a decent demo.
@@TreizeSolo Yep, the PS4 version has the free demo too. Covers the entire first two days of the game, limit of no more than 10 of each type of pin, and carries save data over to the full game

Big gaps in time between sequels can actually be good for creativity/quality. When devs and creatives have to push out sequels in fast order they can suffer burn out and writer's block. The first game is one of my absolute favourites, and i can honestly say...it’s fine? The presentation is stylish from the unique art direction to the stylized locals, the music is full of bops and the battle system is flashy yet surprisingly layered, evoking a ton of what made the original release really good.
