  • Hey there! This is the first video for Bionic-Gaming. It's a little bit of an introduction and a solution to my rental of Oblivion (Blu-ray) not playing.
TLDR - Turning off the internet on my playstation 3 allowed the blu-ray to play immediately.

I turned my LG Blue rey disc player on and no matter how many times I turn it on it always says "no signal" it worked before but no for some reason it doesn't. It would always say no signal no matter if I turn it on with the player or with the little remote. It doesn't work, I tried even adding a disc inside to see if that will work but it doesn't. I have the needed cable plugged in and there's no absolute reason for it to work the first time, you not doing anything, but it not working the second time. Please do you have an advice?
OK, I just realised I wasn't on the right source. I had to go on to "source" on my big remote and that was it.

My Sony 4K upscaling Blu-ray stopped plating discs. It kept saying unable to play because of scratches or format. I disconnected the internet after seeing this video and it finally will play discs!! Thanks!

THIS TOTALLY worked. MUCH thanks for the tip !!!!!!
player was a SONY BDP3700 - everything else was working fine, except, that player did not recognize it had a disc inside. Turning the internet off (a frankly STUPIDLY difficult thing to do within their 'settings') did the job. I basically had to RESET EVERYTHING to factory default cuz there was NO WAY to simply turn off the network settings. Then the disc inside was read / recognized etc etc.

DVD & Blu-Ray playback problems can have a variety of solutions… first you must determine & troubleshoot the source of the playback problem. Some initial suggestions would be to test OTHER DVDs in the device to make sure they play fine… if the disc you are having trouble with is one you burned yourself, you should also try another burned disc to see if it plays ok? IF NOT, perhaps your player lens is dirty and needs cleaning… some people (believe it or not) have even solved playback problems by switching their player to another electric wall outlet/circuit (because sharing the player with multiple devices can actually lower the laser intensity and effect playback… of course checking the disc surface substrate (on the data side) for any finger smudges or scratches, if so clean the disc gently with warm soapy water and dry immediately with soft cloth… ALSO try the problem disc in ANOTHER player (sometimes when old players get bad they don’t die immediately… they usually start to fail with burned discs first, before they start failing with ALL store bought discs) If the burned discs play elsewhere you know its likely the playback device that is at fault - also check the DVD burning software, is everything setup properly or did you miss something that is causing the playback issues? If all else fails try calling the folks at CD Duplication • CD Replication • DVD Duplication - DiscMasters

I have a Sony Blu-Ray player (don't ask for details I don't know how to find them out)
It plays many of my DVDs and Blu-Rays but some it won't even recognize the disc as existing and I see no scratches on the discs.
I have more then one disc it does this to and too many to test them all and no other DVD players to test the disks on.
Don't tell me any thing about reformatting or factory defaults or whatever because I have no clue how to do that or even if this has it.
these DVDs did used to play on my older players and I have not used them for some time and all of them were bought in America so there's no over seas reason lock issues
they are not copies or pirated and so far this is all on Studio Ghibli Disney DVDs not Blu-Rays
I did have one case of a Blu-ray playing and freezing up but when I swapped it for its DVD twin it ran fine.
I would like to do what I can in simple wording if possible so I don't have to buy a new thing or if I do have to buy a new thing if there was a way to know before I buy that it WILL work
also in some cases the MAIN movie disc 1 does NOT work but the 2nd Bonus disc DOES
also the player is not connected to the internet and I don't know how to change it so it can not be updated

My problem was somewhat different but your suggestion worked anyway. I have a Sony blu- ray player that I had for a while but hadn't used. I bought a later blue ray movie to try it out with that showed the previews ok but stopped at the movie. I have a Samsung M-5300 smart TV, that instantly recognizes the player, but it would play only the previews not the movie so I decided to try what you suggested and disconnected the internet, then tried playing the movie again and this time it was different, it popped up a notice that the blu ray player was not connected to the internet. I then connected the TV to the internet, and this time the Samsung account appeared, and it apparently automatically paired up the Samsung remote to the blu ray player and instead of just stopping at the movie I got a menu this time and selected play using the Samsung TV remote and it played the movie. I actually would rather have less technology, and just be able to connect the player to the TV and show a movie like the old VHS tapes. The Sony blu ray does have a lot of extra internet features so it's anything but just a blu ray player which I'm sure are nice features to have but in ways I still would prefer a little more simplicity for just watching a movie.

Certain Bluray Players from Marantz, Sharp and Toshiba will not allow a BD-R/E disc to be played, This is to prevent piracy and to stop illegal copies being played..

In case you have a problem loading some blu-rays and firmware upgrade didn't work for you, try this one. It's taken off Panasonic website and it worked for me:
If the disc is BD-Live compatible you will need to ensure that an SD card 1GB or larger is inserted in the unit before loading the disc. If no card is inserted the disc may not load correctly.

Had to go to scene selection to get it to play, DVD works Blu Ray , Bin It.
My opinion, rather watch and listen to a film brand new. But there intermittent sounds problems are a very big turn off. Blu Ray to me equals Garbage and wasted investment.

I won´t even bother trying. Tried once to put a Blue Ray and make the player play the disc, only to realize the player could not read from the format. I saw then how primitive Blue Ray technology actually is, and why it has been advertised so much, and why so many Blue Ray discs will not play. It was just an overrated sales hysteria...of a product which failed to meet up to it´s expectations.

    • @tonyjohnson5669
      @tonyjohnson5669 6 лет назад

Yatukih001 Its actually more than that. They change the drm for blu rays every now and then. This means that at times certain bluray players cant play the movie because they havent been updating with the new way to decode this new DRM. This more or less makes that player obsolete without having to be.

I just had a problem with my Samsung Blu-ray player (model BD-F5700). I was trying to watch THX1138, but after showing the FBI warning and the Warner Bros. logo and theme, it froze on the image of a disc spinning at an angle indefinitely.
Netflix sent me another copy, same problem.
    I stumbled on the solution:
In my player's settings under System is a menu item "BD Data Management". It prompted me to add or change a device, by which they meant a thumb drive. I always keep a thumb drive inserted, but it was not assigned. Once I selected the one available that it showed ("Flash Disk" for this particular thumb drive) when I went back and tried it the Blue-Ray disc's menu came up, and the movie and special features could be played.
