Hi Mate, your doing a great job, a bit of a fight with the netting may be you might need to put bars on top of those poles linking the together to stop the net ripping in the wind. keep up the good work and catch you soon, take care

@@shaun30-3-mg9zs ha yea that netting put up a bit of a fight. I did go up today and the poles have put a hole in the netting but I am hoping it will be ok. Thanks for watching

Get yourself some tent pegs to peg your netting down more securely! You could also wind some twine tightly around the top of the stakes to hold it taught. It is all hardwork on an allotment and an ongoing learning curve!

Yea the other half had told me to use pegs but I totally forgot thank you will pop them in next time I am up good idea with putting twine at the top. Definitely a lot of hard work

I actually found a caterpillar 🐛 in my vegepod 😮 how the heck it got in there I don’t know. Great recycling idea Anthony for a mini brassica cage. We get tree “snow” in spring from the birch type trees and they are all over my beds. Yep being on cold days so the cabbage whites piss off 🤣🤣. Have a super week, it’s all a learning curve so enjoy the process too, Ali 🌧️🇨🇦

I like how down to earth and honest your videos are. They're not insta perfect and i just enjoy your failings as well as successes. Keep it real, love it!😊 the Netting literally had me laughing out loud... we've all done that! 😂

Longer videos for me Anthony, you can cover more topics/issues etc. Those poles/canes you put in the ground are gonna end up ripping your net, either put poles/canes across to connect them or pop a pop bottle over the top of each one. Rome wasnt built in a day, you are doing well and it will take shape as the months pass by.

Thanks will do. Yea one of the poles but a hole in already probably get some pop bottles to stop it again. Thanks taking time but getting there

Just saw you were at 999 so thought i would make it 1,000. Well deserved!🎉 As a fellow first year allotment grower, everyone is saying it’s the worst year ever, so if we can grow this year, next year will be easy im sure 😂. Seed catalogues and garden centres are dangerous things i have found… only thing i found for slugs was beer traps, trouble is they need emptying every few days. Keep up the hard graft💪

thank you so much and welcome. yea its not been the best year to start has it hopefully next year we can grow loads and we have a long summer you have to drag me out of a garden centre yea need to get the slug killing stuff for next year. thank you so much

Yeah, apparently it hasn’t been very fruitful (excuse the pun), i didn’t consider when following Mr Dowdings techniques that you need to remortgage your house to pay for compost, so i have 6/7 daleks full of horse manure now, and a homemade hot composter at home, to hopefully have enough to not buy any next year, and i have vowed to not buy any plug plants next year… but we will have to see on that one. All the best 👍
