Why are 99% of space sims focused on small fighter scale ships? The very few capital ship games are almost all strategy games where you command fleets. I just want a slower paced, more tactical and realistic game where you command your own single capital ship, managing ship systems, energy, heat etc. At this rate it feels like it'll be quicker for me to learn to use the Unreal Engine and make it myself than waiting for someone else to do something even remotely satisfying. I'm aware of Capital Command btw, but it's been at the tech demo stage for what, two years now?
@@Swooper86 Yes, survival building multiplayer "space legs" simulator, with hover vessels, small vessels AND capital vessels, interiors included. Not a "strict" flight simulator tho... Still all ships are flyable.
What I really like about the Hunternet trailer is the enemies aren't covered in HUD info, preventing you from seeing the actual ship you're shooting at. I hope they keep the HUD minimal in that regard.
Remnant protocol looks like my kind of game. I love nothing more in a space game than getting to flit about in the middle of a fleet sized furball. It’s nice to feel like part of a larger force rather than the traditional one single starfighter saves the universe type of play.
So many exciting games here to check out :) Really like the new additions and nice to have one I can try now in QANGA! I think some of hem might be a way off but great to see and awesome video!
I keep going back to titles such as Homeworld, Nexus: The Jupiter Incident and Sins Of a Solar Empire. Grand Strategy, RTS or huge ship simulators have always been my space thing, not using a joystick driving around a small fighter style spaceship. If I wanted that I would go back to Fighter simulators such as DCS.

It was so Janky when we tried to play it toegther that it was comical. It was oversold by the Space Sim channels. Look it has potential....but we try get to the truth here!
which one of these games allow you to roam around your starship and interact with stuff inside like going into rooms/sections of the ships and walking around? basically like STAR CITIZEN does??
Thank you for being honest about Qanga. As a long time Star Citizen backer it's a really interesting title that I genuinely hope succeeds and gets made, but i tried it and was severely disappointed after seeing other's reviews.
Starship Simulator must have really upped their game recently; because when I tried out the demo/whatever it was several months back -- it was a buggy, unfinished mess. Hell, some of the rooms you went into were just empty, and had rolls of toilet paper stacked in them.
Thanks for showing Outer Empires 2. Looks very promising. Also Starship Simulator, but I doubt that that game will ever be released if it doesn't get a complete visual rework. I think it looks way too much like Star Trek and Paramount will not allow that, I'm sure.
I notice a lot of games having multiple MDFs in the cockpits of the ships with unnecessary information that is flooding the screen. Those things does not make up for the lack of content in the game.
It always amazes me how every single you tube game reviewer has never once showed a game that they say is crap lol its almost like there livelihood depends on it. BTW space sim + online =Garbage in my opinion.

@@MonteAdorableMax Guess it's a great privilege to have someone who can judge the accuracy of other posters statements without offering a scrap of explanation why so.
Have the big space sim channels hailed quanga? Maybe the ones I have watched aren't the big ones, but they've played it, but have pretty much given the same sentiment. A potentially good game. But not ready unless you enjoy playing beta and early access games with a lot of jank Also as for exodus. They hired Peter F. Hamilton to write the story and the first book was just released, so expect a great and grand space opera story that isn't afraid to not be written for children or make some philosophical questions.
Squad 42 doesn't have any new footage to show yet, maybe after citizencon. Even so it could still be a long ways away considering how often the devs like to redo the flight model for SC.
I have featured Star Citizen many times and usually get the opposite comments. But to write off the games on this list is not right. Some of these look excellent and it's always good to have variety to look forward too 🚀
Chris Roberts said it was in polishing phase at CitizenCon 2023. I wouldn't put a lot of stock in what he and CIG say; their track record of over exaggerating what they can develop, deliver and when, has been dismal for the last 12 years despite having 1200 employees and raking in $700 million in pledge money. We've heard the "coming soon" mantra of Chris and CIG so often in that time that it's become a meme. I've lost count of how many times SQ42 has been pushed out. Don't be fooled by the cinematic trailers that CIG put out either. At least in the case of Star Citizen, they misrepresent the in-game player experience. Most of what we've seen of SQ42 has also been cinematic trailers.
@@altostratus9342 Maybe you forgot the 2023 SQ42 trailer that was 90% gameplay? CIG has missed the mark several times yes, and got a lot of backlash for it. That's why they don't give dates anymore. Way too many online games for my limited timetable. Some of them like Outer Empires2 would be awesome single player games. I don't understand why they keep banging their heads on the MMO wall.
