You guys are great. There are only a few car review channel I watch. Yours is one of them. I like how you are honest feedback, instead of those that say everything is good
I walked into a dealership where a new owner was screaming at the sales staff & service department. She had her hybrid for 2 weeks. They refused to take a look at her car or book an appointment the following week. She wanted to know if the dealer sold her a lemon. They insisted she only come in when they want her to (sticker on the window), even if she has car problems. She was calm at first. The dealer said, "Although we are not busy today, you'd be wasting our time." This all happened in front of the assistant manager. I immediatrly walked out & bought from another dealership. They also would not tell me the price of the car & refused to look at my trade-in unless I guarantee I buy from them. There were no other customers. Work customer service ever.
I'll never forget a Subaru salesman, after the test drive, then back in his cubicle, insisting I pay him $50 before he'll give me a price, in order to guarantee that I'm "serious about buying." I immediately left. Or a Mitsubishi salesman who repeatedly (for 30 minutes) refused to give me my prospective trade-in's keys back, while attempting to persuade me to pay a bloated new car price. And many more dreadful car sales experiences...
@@kenhoward3512I went to one Subaru dealership and they completely ignored us after being there for ten minutes. Not even the receptionist offered to help us. I've heard that some dealerships when asked about pricing tell customers to find the pricing themselves online. So the customer is to print it at home. Then the sales guy walks away. Of course, after glaring at the customer from head to toe & checking out what they drove in. FYI: Some people do downgrade from luxury brands or upgrade to luxury brands.

these days a LOT of service tech at dealership do not really know what's going on with these complicated high tech cars.(yes, I'm looking at you, BMW dealers!) sometimes people on BMW forums can diagnose problems 10 times faster than BMW dealers... worst yet, sometimes dealer will misdiagnose the problem and apply the wrong software fix, which makes the problem much, much, much worse.
Love everything you two do, so genuine. Thanks for sharing, your insight is usually sound. Leasing is not popular in Australia, I think our dealerships are better here than in North America. Our cars also last longer with better weather but all good things come to an end 4 a reason, to be sure, to be sure. ❤
Another great review! Next time you two are in the States reviewing a vehicle maybe you could have a meet and greet. I think you’d get a great turnout from both your fans.
Interesting to hear the Venza is on its way out, but not surprising based on its limited numbers. I bought one 2.5 years ago and love it, but mostly got it because it was in stock on the lot, otherwise I likely would have got a RAV-4 Hybrid instead (which had a very long wait time). Earlier this summer, my neighbour went to look for a Venza as they wanted to replace their RAV-4 and they really like my car but didn't want to wait the 18-24 months it would take to get. They ended up getting the new NX instead as its wait time was only about 3 months. Regarding the concern about discontinued models, I think it is more about the vehicle itself. If it is a vehicle that has little demand because it isn't very good, that would be reflected in its resale value and may be tough to sell (or you'll get less on trade). Parts availability shouldn't be an issue as long as its a major brand (Toyota, Honda, VW, Ford, etc). Considering the demand for Toyota Hybrids is strong (because they are so good), it's unlikely going to affect the resale value in any negative way. To give you an example, I just looked at how much a low mileage 2021 Venza Limited is listed for in my area and I found a nice example at the Toyota dealership near me in Waterloo for $48,999. That is $1054 more than what I paid for my car 2.5 years ago (well, excluding freight and fees). That's the advantage of buying a vehicle with strong resale value. You don't lose your shirt when you move on to something else in the future.
We need Lemon-Law in Canada! Our system is ridiculous and always sides with the OE's. Having had a Lemon car that I tried to fix through the dealer for months and months and ended up taking a $10,000 loss on when I traded it for something else just to get rid of the problem. It was a Toyota Highlander with paint defects and a transmission issue. Even the regional manager from Toyota was difficult to deal with. I was nice and patient but they wouldn't fix it. I'm not sour on Toyota but I feel that had we had Lemon-Law it would have been a total different experience.
Under the Lemon-Law, it takes a minimum of TWO years and you cannot drive the vehicle and you Must have it enclosed in a carport or garage while you’re waiting. You Must keep current on your license registration, payments and insurance. The vehicle Must have been into the dealership for the same reason a minimum of THREE times for the Same problem during the First Year of ownership. I know because I had to take a Nissan pickup through the Lemon-law in 1986. It was a horrible experience. If Nissan would have taken care of it within 6 months after I filed under the Lemon-law, I would’ve bought another Nissan, but because of all that I went to, I will Never Ever own another Nissan product, Ever
@@Doc1855 My experiences with various mass-market car manufacturers and dealers have been the same when it has come to fixing a problem they don't want to deal with - under warranty, that is. Dealers I've dealt with apparently want cash customers filling their service bays, while manufacturers consider the *dealer* their customer ("We'll call the dealer, but he's an independent businessman, so we can't tell him what to do." was literally the answer from a customer service rep at a carmaker).
@@kenhoward3512 Yes they are independent businesses owners. The dealership doesn’t make much money from warranty work. They don’t get paid for the normal markup on the repairs but they do get paid for the time it takes for the repair.
@@kenhoward3512 Manufacturers don't get a free pass on this practice. They provide dealers with monthly budgets for warranty repairs and will often demand video and photo evidence before approving a warranty repair. This is why sometimes near the end of the month the service manager may get really sticky about doing warranty work - especially for people that didn't buy the car there.

FortNine used to do a lot of shoots just around where the nightlife segments were shot. My YT fanfic is that you guys crossed paths just as one crew was wrapping up and another was coming.
I get why people miss the night life segment. Because this is 2024, and as we continue to see a ton of technology and interior lighting in these vehicles? It's nice to see what it will look like before we purchase. I know that was a biggie for me, when choosing my B9 Audi S4.
Tesla is about improving the car while driving down costs. It is the right approach. Market share is irrelevant. Sales are what counts. When sales go down, it is time to redesign the car. That said, I wish Tesla was making a minivan. It would sell like hot cakes.
Love your vids! Not car related, do your neighbors mow their grass like it is a golf green? That specialized mower shown at about the 6:30 mark is unusual. That grass on the boulevard in the background of your videos is amazing. Again love you guys!!!!

I’m sorry for the owner of the jeep 4xe. One of the main reasons why I’m hesitant to go with any new technology is it seems like there’s many stories where the service department has no clue how to service and repair.
Zack, my house is 94 years old. Have you ever researched a fix for the noisy floors? I'd love to know . . . on the other hand, house guests can't sneak around :^) Another entertaining episode, A & Z. Keep up the good work.
What to do with a lemon car? Well, way back in 1973 I owned the first year of the Pontiac Astre, my very first new car, and the Pontiac version of the now notorious Chevrolet Vega. In only a few months that Astre was burning oil like nobody's business (apparently, according to GM, burning a liter of oil in a few hundred kilometres is "acceptable") and less than a year later I traded-in that car on what turned out to be a very reliable Plymouth Duster with the 225 slant 6 which I owned for a decade. Of course that Astre became someone else's problem, hopefully they got some support from the dealer, and who knows maybe from GM, but I didn't want to fight that battle. Maybe things have changed since then but I doubt it.
With regard to Night Life, I would appreciate comments on the performance of the headlights of the vehicles you review as some are rather poor. As a senior, I do appreciate the superb headlights of my Acura RDX - one of the reasons I bought a second one. same applies to our CX5.
Can you do a segment on the unspoken subject of EV battery disposal/recycling being sidelined by companies licensed to produce these toxic banks prone to eventual combustion upon cell degeneration? :)
Just turned in my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2020 with 22k miles due to lemon law! I loved that car, just wished they were reliable like they use to be. Now I don’t know what I want, it is so frustrating!
The reason they have lemon laws in the states is due to the 350 non-turbo diesels from GM in the early 1980s. Those would self-destruct with major head gasket leaks at 36,000 miles and GM did nothing to fix the problems! The Yugo's where also a big problem until the they failed emersions from the EPA!
I remember the nite-life segment.... It was cool 😎...as a video editor.... I knew that was a lot of work. So many things need to go right to pull it off....You make great content decisions...thank you

Unfortunately for the viewer with the problem Jeep, Stelantis does not participate in CAMVAP. And while they say they are unbiased, CAMVAP is funded by the participating manufacturers, so they know who butters their bread, so to speak.
Stellantis (Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat) are NOT participating in CAMVAP ( Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration plan). There is a list of 15 manufactures on the website that are participating. I suspect that Stellantis knows the quality of its vehicles and would lose a fortune if it participated.
Great job Andrea on finding out on the Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration Plan sound good! Everyone should check this out. No wonder some informations keeps us dark. Cheers! ☕️☕️
The Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration Plan sounds interesting. This was the first I had heard of this. Also, it might not be helpful to your viewer who asked the question, as Stellantis does not appear on the list of participating manufacturers.
I see that Stellantis is no longer participating in auto shows. That’s sad for customers comparing vehicles in a non dealership setting. What do you think?
I sent it to maintenance one week later blind spot monitoring indicator came on , and the engine light came on it took me to take three times to the dealership to finally fix the issues. Thank God for warranty , but still, the fact they put apprentice with no experience to work on my car. Has me worried and don't feel safe to drive that car
I would agree with Zack with regard to leasing "new Tech cars and I would add Electric Cars be the full EVS or Plugins to the "New Tech" definition. Until Manufacturers get a handle on the issue with regard to Battery replacement cost I will only Lease such vehicles and I will ask the Leasing company what is their policy with regard to this issue as they may put the liability for this issue on those who lease in the "fine Print" that none of us read when signing on the dotted line.. In which case I would not consider taking on any type of electric car. I would feel like I was sitting on an economic time bomb every time I got in it to drive down the road trying to avoid bits of road debris.
Looking to buy 2022 Honda insight hybrid as a gas saver and possibly passing to my 15 year old in a year or two - we have bought 2023 Honda odyssey as a family van… any thoughts?? Recommendation ?
Listen i owned a 2010 matrix 2.4 discontinued for a long time now i don't have any problems for the parts because all the parts in the matrix come from the Corolla and also last year i bought a 2022 venza hybrid now again discontinued and you don't worry about parts again because the venza parts are from the rav4 parts
I don't have any problems with the 2.4 litre engine for the matrix yes i heard about some people complaining about losing engine oil and i brought my matrix to the toyota dealership to check it out is nothing wrong i think some of the owners of the toyota 2.4 just do the oils change very late that is the problem but i do my oils change on my matrix every 4500 kilometers
Something I found out today! I have a GMC 2021 1500 with 3.0 Duramax and I am forced to only trade this truck back to GMC, I cannot sell to Carmax, Carvana or a Individual and make profit! This is clearly A desperate attempt to screw the intelligent customers out of well-earned profit while at the same time keep writing loans for poor folks who they keep upside down and ruin there financial lives! It seems this policy was put in place 7-1-21, we leased 4-1-21 so it means they added a caveat after we leased!
We had the same dilemma when we’re looking for a new vehicle - SQ5 or X3 M40i. Bought a 2018 X3. The Audi interior is nicer but the X3 is just a little better in almost every other respect. It has lower fuel consumption, has more cargo room and for some reason is actually faster even though the power and weight are about the same. And Zac is right - the engine in the M40 is a dream. Absolutely no issues with it all in 5 years. Although one thing to watch - the alignment on the M40 is super aggressive and BMW’s tire pressure recommendations are way too high, especially on the rear. I have summers and winters that are worn out after only ~25k km on them. I went to a shop in Calgary that can correct the alignment issue so your tires don’t wear out so fast. Those 255’s on the back are mighty expensive.
@@volvo_3877 I would also suggest to people to check out the M35i X1 as an alternative if they have to buy now. Although you are getting a 4 cylinder that runs on premium fuel.
So I asked this in your Top 5 Luxury SUV (midsize I think): do you have any news on when a new Q5 is coming? I agree it's aging gracefully, but come on!
Dangit! I had my heart set on the Mazda CX-5 and now Andrea has me thinking about the new CX-70. Just sent me on a wild google chase to investigate. Looks like a doozy.
As a current owner of a 2007 328i, a 2018 X3 and a 2005 Highlander all since new, I can honestly say that the 2 BMW’s together have cost me less than 1/2 what the Highlander cost in maintenance. To be fair the Highlander has a lot more miles on it, nor am I knocking Toyota. The longevity of their cars is impressive.
J D Power current Reliability Survey has Jeep only 5% worse than the industry average, with 196 problems per 100 vehicles vs the industry average of 186. The "well respected" brands, VW, Audi, and Mercedes averaged 236 problems per 100 vehicles. Ford and Lincoln? 254.
Japanese automakers don't bring their nice smaller vehicle offering to the US/NA market that they sell in other regions, like the Lexus LBX to name one, so not looking forward to anything. It's almost all oversized garbage for my needs/wants in this market.
You are journalists , you should inform better . In 2023 for pure BEV it is not BYD best seller but Tesla BYD BEV + PHEV + Hybrid maybe sold more than Tesla but not pure ev It was an article a week ago that in Q4 2023 BYD sold more BEV than Tesla , but in 2023 still Tesla os No1 But indeed in 2024 BYD shall be No1 in BEV sales and No.4 in top sales overall and max 3-4 Years BYD shall be No 1 auto in the entire world in front of VW and Toyota

That's really too bad!
Great job Andrea on finding out on the Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration Plan sound good! Everyone should check this out. No wonder some informations keeps us dark. Cheers! ☕️☕️
Thanks so much!
@@andreaspencer9813 You are a very welcome Andrea! ☕️☕️
since my kids wear me down, I'm asleep by 8:30p. No way I'm working past ten pm. How do you guys handle such late daylight?
I want to see a Tesla 2 from Mexico make it to the US market.
Ha! ViceVersa - good one. 😂
The Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration Plan sounds interesting. This was the first I had heard of this. Also, it might not be helpful to your viewer who asked the question, as Stellantis does not appear on the list of participating manufacturers.
Of course Stellantis doesn't lol.
I see that Stellantis is no longer participating in auto shows. That’s sad for customers comparing vehicles in a non dealership setting. What do you think?
Avalon or SQ5 or BMW - Keep the Avalon!
My 2022 mazda cx-3 is a lemon car ryt now
I sent it to maintenance one week later blind spot monitoring indicator came on , and the engine light came on it took me to take three times to the dealership to finally fix the issues.
One could assume battery replacement cost for PHEVs would be 1/5th to 1/8th the cost of an EV battery, regular hybrids even less.
always regret selling my bimmer 3 series straight 6 convertible
Looking to buy 2022 Honda insight hybrid as a gas saver and possibly passing to my 15 year old in a year or two - we have bought 2023 Honda odyssey as a family van… any thoughts?? Recommendation ?
night shots were a waste in such great shows
Listen i owned a 2010 matrix 2.4 discontinued for a long time now i don't have any problems for the parts because all the parts in the matrix come from the Corolla and also last year i bought a 2022 venza hybrid now again discontinued and you don't worry about parts again because the venza parts are from the rav4 parts
Totally ordering a ‘24 Vice Versa!! 😂Happy New Year eh!?🎉
You know the 2024 Vice Versa is the bomb! lol!

👍🏻
As an FYI BYD only beat Tesla for the last quarter. Last year BYD sold fewer BEVs than Tesla.
What car are you sitting in? Looks super airy and open.
I saw the new Tesla here in MA at a Dunkin
It will be interesting to see if the US will allow BYD EV's in, lots of political issues in play, potential tariffs and so on.
Keep the Avalon TRD. Its different and will outlast the Audi and BMW.
Spencers, why not outsource the nightlife segment to your sons? It can be their, um, rent... yes, rent!
8:57 zach: you know what it is ?
me: BYD
Zach: NO it's not that. It's BYD
😮
Something I found out today! I have a GMC 2021 1500 with 3.0 Duramax and I am forced to only trade this truck back to GMC, I cannot sell to Carmax, Carvana or a Individual and make profit! This is clearly A desperate attempt to screw the intelligent customers out of well-earned profit while at the same time keep writing loans for poor folks who they keep upside down and ruin there financial lives! It seems this policy was put in place 7-1-21, we leased 4-1-21 so it means they added a caveat after we leased!
I will get in touch later in week but I did confirm with GMC that this is there policy@Motormouth_.
SQ5 and the X3 are at the end of their design runs. Wait
@@JeliYYC I’ve test driven a 2023 X3 M40. That thing is shockingly quick. I wonder when the redesign goes on sale.
@@kevinn1158I would say August-November of this year
@@volvo_3877 I would also suggest to people to check out the M35i X1 as an alternative if they have to buy now.
Bill 29 in quebec....it's coming
a family member was a chrysler service the question he has is why is stellantis still in business
🙂👍
What happend to Hyundai santa fe??? 2024 redesign
well lets not talk let get a test Eh?
Porscha 😁 (no one here in the EU says that...) 😘
BYD sold more cars than Tesla. Not BEV. they make ice cars and hybrid
Hi, but you are forgetting the reliability that comes with a BMW or Audi …compared with a Toyota…
"call a cop!" hahahaha!
Don't buy any Stellantis product, most are GARBAGE. Some of the vehicles with the most problems per car in the industry
Japanese automakers don't bring their nice smaller vehicle offering to the US/NA market that they sell in other regions, like the Lexus LBX to name one, so not looking forward to anything. It's almost all oversized garbage for my needs/wants in this market.
You are journalists , you should inform better . In 2023 for pure BEV it is not BYD best seller but Tesla
BYD BEV + PHEV + Hybrid maybe sold more than Tesla but not pure ev
It was an article a week ago that in Q4 2023 BYD sold more BEV than Tesla , but in 2023 still Tesla os No1
But indeed in 2024 BYD shall be No1 in BEV sales and No.4 in top sales overall and max 3-4 Years BYD shall be No 1 auto in the entire world in front of VW and Toyota
Bring more Chinese EV here because EV right now is ridiculous high sticker price.
Tesla interiors are very low rent.
Or just get a tesla
