Cheers, all ye good mates who still love this! This tune swims through my brain on occasion, a mere 43 years since it aired! Don’t think many of the songs created today will stand that test of time…
Please, other music fans, post a mega positive comment....this was apparently recorded in 2017, about 50 years + after I purchased the 45 vinyl. Great happy song by a happy talented artist. She pilots me to happiness every time I hear this song. Lovely.
I am so happy to see and hear this. I love ya, Charlie, all the way from Southold, New York almost 40 years later. Nice acoustic version. Thanks for posting this!!
Well I knew Charlie was still writing recently (Celine Dion's "Refuse To Dance" being one of Charlie's songs, for example); but until riding in the RUclips taxi down memory lane just now, didn't know she was still performing, and looking and sounding so fine decades after "Pilot Of The Airwaves" appeared. I've got the 45 of the radio edit of this song too, and also the LP "Where To Now" from which it came, and still love the sound. (1979 was about 40 years ago, not 50, but for Charlie to sound--and look--so great after 40 years in the music biz is impressive enough!)
She's just wonderful. An added surprise is Mr. Cleverdon on the Tenor guitar.

Glad Charlie is out there sharing this wonderful song 40 yrs later. 😘
1979 memories. This song got me through that special summer between grade school and high school.
This is one of the best songs ever has been written.

STILL LOVIN' CHARLIE DORE! :)
I love this song, clearly she can no longer find the upper range, but this is a quality arrangement of a fantastic song. Great to hear.
Listening to my old memories
Still sounds great - even after 37 years. We love hearing it on the XFM countdown 80s countdown program a few times a year.

Omg, I remember that guy standing on the left used to be soooo cute 😂😂😂
The Lady is ok, but How in the World put her a Bunch of Grannies beside ?
Guy to her right is way too loud! He’s drowning her out.
Shoot me
At what point did she go tone deaf
