My notes from the lecture
The conclusion of good manners are from 4 hadith's:
1. Say that which is good or be silent. Perfect your tongue. Protect your tongue. Control it. Use your teeth to imprison your tongue. Only let it out when there is a need. Only when saying something beneficial. 3 types of things we may need to say - a. It's clearly good to say
b. It's clearly evil.
c. It's doubtful and you are not sure whether it's good or evil - rather stay away from this.
This is the first foundation.
2. Leave off that which does not concern you
- stay away from unnecessary issues which are not really our business. Always full of issues, can never have good manners. Takes one out of the realm of good manners. This is common place today. Eg. Other people's relationships friendships etc
3. Don't get angry
- evil trait. Starts off crazy. Later calmed down we regret everything. Beginning of anger is lunatic, at the end regret. Don't come into contact with triggers that make us angry. Wisely avoid it.
When angry:
A. Sit down
B. Lay down
C. Stop talking. Utter silence
4. Love for your brother that which you love for yourself
- cleanse your heart. No enmity and grudges towards our brothers and sisters in islam. Don't let other people live in your hearts and minds. Forgive and forget. We benefit from this the most with tranquility. We cannot enter jannah with enmity and grudges in our hearts. What's in our hearts usually reflects on our limbs. We become rude, dismissive. Our hearts must not get corrupted. Don't be vulgar angry rude belittling mocking. We must strive in shaa Allah.
May Allah subhaana wa ta ala grant us all the best of manners Ameen

I just have a doubt. If we don't correct people when they are wrong, aren't we sinful? So how can we stop arguing if that person is wrong???
p
which scholars are of the opinion you should forgive and forget because I haven't seen any ahadith that clearly indicate to forgive and forget rather a brother informed me about the fact that the sahaba who killed Hamza(ra) the uncle of the prophet(saw). The prophet never looked at him.
Would this mean the prophet(saw) held a grudge?
This is what the brother came to me with and i was hoping to get an answer
.
The prophet saw always forgave. He
would only have a grudge if Allah was not pleased with the person. For instance Abu sufyan killed many sahabi but once he converted and repented rasullollah saw was very kind to him.
And he never looked at him because it reminded him of what he did to his uncle and that hurt him a lot.
Can you give me a reference fro this, please?
