I think the most romantic thing about this whole scene is when he says "rigatoni...nice!" It shows that he absolutely loves her and her puking in front of him is no big deal.
I don’t understand why he couldn’t have just told her that he didn’t get in to begin with. There was no reason to tell her he didn’t love her anymore and to break up with her in the first place.
Because she said that she wouldn’t go to Brown without him because Brown was originally his school but He didn’t want her to give up such an amazing opportunity
Shows Seth's character growth, at least in a small way. He lied to Summer and that's not cool, but what's different about this one is *why* he lied. Seth's other lies have primarily about his own self-interest or keeping something from someone to spare himself from the potential fallout from the truth. This one started out as that too. But eventually, it became something else. Seth lied to Summer initially because he was ashamed that she got into Brown and he didn't. But after she said she wouldn't go without him, it changed. Seth knows Summer has a once in a lifetime opportunity in front of her. As much as he loves her, he can't have her throw away her future. Summer's future is more important than Seth should be to her. She can't abandon it and Seth knows that. He knows she would regret it. Was it right to lie to her and break her heart so much that she became a miserable trainwreck without him? No. But sometimes we do the wrong things for the right reasons. This is perhaps the first lie Seth has ever told that was selfless. He lied to give Summer the future she deserves.
Summer falling off the plank of the ship was the funniest thing of the episode. It's a shame Samaire Armstrong didn't become a series regular in Season 4. Would've been awesome.
