@@poodook because they’ve had a lot of freshmen classes come and go since Todd Reesing nearly led them to a BCS title birth. The current freshmen at KU were barely walking and still wearing diapers when Reesing led KU to an Orange Bowl win and KU was the David shaking up the college football landscape. After his junior year in 2008, they’ve had zero bowl births and zero seasons at or above .500.
@@bradmyers5354 Yes Brad, you nailed it. I graduated from KU in 2004 and watched the 2007 season and it was amazing. This team, and especially this coach, are making KU relevant again.
I'm happy for KU. I know they were the laughingstock of the Big 12 for years, but it looks like the tides are turning. Good to hear they are bowl eligible.

Did Kansas beat Oklahoma State to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2008? Yes, they did.
This video warmed my heart at a time when it needed a warming. And if you'll watch to the end of this video you'll get the payoff of viewing Jayhawks fans dumping the goalposts into Potter's Lake. My question is who digs them out? Or do they actually sink to the bottom of the lake, only to be found when the lake is drained, if that ever happens? Tremendous work by Athletic Director Travis Goff (attaboy Travis!), KU Head Coach Lance Leipold, his staff and support crew, and the entire KU football squad. Enjoy it KU fans!!! Celebrate! I love Kansas' offense. Really good o-line play this game. They know how to run the ball effectively

I think Kansas is going to have a number of bowls interested in them. For one the fans have been waiting ages to go to a bowl game, so they're going to sell tickets no matter where the bowl game will be. Secondly, Kansas is a fun team to watch. They're offense is going to put up some points, so you should expect to see pretty good ratings for the bowl game as well.
I'm thinking Holiday Bowl or maybe even Cotten if they can make it to the big 12 championship game.

How did Oklahoma St even win 6 games? They looked like they didn't even wanna play. Horrible tackling and tackling angles by their defense.
Because this is not the same team from the first half of the season. Injuries and lack of depth have destroyed the team
Because the offense actually had somewhat of a coherent scheme until 3 weeks ago. Kasey Dunn has destroyed Oklahoma State football. Fuck all the excuses about injuries, there's enough depth on this team to account for that. Kasey Dunn is just a moron that should be bagging groceries and not have anything to do with football.
Kansas trying to take us back to the days when they nearly played for the BCS title. Been a long time since KU fans have had something to be proud of on Saturdays in the fall, but it’s good to see. I was beginning to think they’d never recover from parting ways with Mangino, but I’m glad they seem to have proven me wrong. As long as they lose vs Texas, they’ve got my support.

I was there. It was frankly pretty embarrassing to lose to a team that had been the laughingstock of the Big XII for years. For a team that had historically been the bottom of the barrel to beat us and then storm the field, was humbling. OSU had a bad season and we need to learn from this loss to be a better team. But that didn’t help the feeling of embarrassment when you lose in front of a hostile crowd. Go Pokes, but 2022 sure wasn’t our year. The Jayhawks just beat the pants off us is fair and square and held their own against Arkansas in the bowl game. That’s to be commended highly.
Wow. The Hawks are amazing n offense with their back up QB! Hands down the Big 12 is the most fun to watch in all of football. These teams score like crazy. Kansas might win 8.

@@gsl649 This has been the second time Kansas has beaten a top 25 opponent while being unranked this season. They were ranked 19, but fell out on Oct 10 after a 2-loss streak to TCU and Oklahoma.
In comparison, OSU was still ranked 18 even though they were blown out 0-48 against Kansas State.
The AP Poll is based off of the opinions of 62 sportswriters, and their rankings are not based on any form of hard evidence. The lack of hard evidence makes teams that mostly play against worse opponents (Georgia only playing 2 ranked opponents this year) rank higher than teams that are playing against actual competition and still winning ('Bama played against 4 ranked opponents already this year). The bias is extreme with the rankings.
