    You must remember to oil the forcing bolt as it preserves the threads.

      Important, especially on them wicked spring compressors.. I hate those.

      @Vanadeo Completely right. I bought a pedestal hydraulic one from amazon for about £95. Never using those stupid bolts again.

    Great video ! Really helped so I could have an idea to tell the garage what I thought the problem/noise would be . Unfortunately the discs were so worn they had to be replaced along with the pads so that the bearing ( just o/s) could be fitted . Thanks again for posting.

    If you hear the bearing while ratating wheel by hand, they are worn as hell. Normally you hear them when wheel sre spinnig under the full load of a car. Nicely done 👍

    Good job Guy ;oP
    Is it possible to send the scan of the user manual of the tool used (the one presented in the video) in order to clearly see the installation according to the extraction or the insertion?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi, you should replace that tie rod end if spinning like that.

    • @TeachDIY
      @TeachDIY  2 года назад +1

      I have no problem with play, vibration or issues during cornering. Tie rod ends are just a ball and socket, sometimes they spin like that without needing replacing.

    7:51 what are you doing here, after you removed the bolt, and before you move the drive shaft?

    • @TeachDIY
      @TeachDIY  2 месяца назад +1

      I am using an air hammer to unseat the drive shaft from the wheel hub.

    How much would this cost at a garage? Rough price?

    • @TeachDIY
      @TeachDIY  2 месяца назад +1

      Anything between £170 to £300. I spent £45 on the hub and £55 on the tool. Since then, I have used the tool once more, so the second time, I only spent about £45 for the bearing.
      You can get cheaper bearings, but I am not sure I would trust them.
