  • Have you ever heard the story about the incident regarding the mix-up between the movies "Insidious" and "Inside Out" shown in a theater in Ohio back in 2015? If you haven't heard of it, here's the story:
In spite of the fact that these films have little in common, it was reportedly the case that the projectionist accidentally played the movie "Insidious: Chapter 3" in a theater that was scheduled to screen "Inside Out." As you can see, both titles have similar letters, and the film reel cases usually display the title names without any additional images or descriptions. The parents were very angry after this accident. They gathered their families and quickly exited the auditorium. One of the parents said there were kids tied up and some murder scenes. Then one enraged mother mentioned that her children were terrified and kept asking questions.
According to Mandy Jocelyn, a moviegoer who was actually there, the managers caught on to what was going on and shut the projector off shortly after the opening titles were cut off, before any of the real movie was played. If you had already watched 'Insidious: Chapter 3,' you would know that no scenes related to the incident described by the parents were shown throughout the movie, and the grisly accident scene actually occurred 15 minutes after the film started. Many kids in the auditorium were actually calm, and a few of them were terrified, but the panicked adults worsened an already tense condition. She added that it was the trailer for another movie that ran before the movie started, "Sinister 2," that displayed all those gory scenes and triggered this unfavorable event.
Of course, the manager and the entire crew apologized and upgraded everyone to a complimentary 3D theater showing "Inside Out" without hesitation.
