Bit of correction contradictory to what she said before how horses were considered above royalty. horses were never killed actually the use of them was decreased as they are very high maintenance.
Thank you for sharing the history of these wonderful horses! I only learned about them recently, and was impressed to see their fast gait, "speed-racking" as they call it here in the U.S. May the Marwari continue to thrive and prosper!
I'm glad this video meant something to you! It's like Here in South African we have the Vlaamperd, and not a lot of people know about them. They are just beautiful horses that look a little like a slick fresian. They are so rare :D
Good video, but this is to inform that Marwaris were not actually developed by the Rathore rather the very fine Marwaris were brought into the ranks as the Rajputs had to quickly change from a conventional army to a cavalry based army as the situation demanded swift and highly mobile warfare, and that’s how the prominence arose, the same concept was adopted even by the Marathas although the Marathas preferred lighter breeds such as the Sindhis and the Kathiawaris owing to the hilly terrain of the Deccan. Marwaris have no connection to the Arabs and is a separate breed more ancient than any other oriental breeds, the story of shipwreck and Arab horses swimming ashore has no historic and literary evidence and is a lie propagated to promote the Aryan Invasion Theory by the English.
Thank you for this amazing comment! One can only draw conclusions from what you learn, so I an little sad I didn't spot this during my research. But thank you so much! It's always a treat to learn something new :D
@@AbsurdandFantastical there is very little research done on these horses, and more unfortunate is the fact that Indians absolutely have no concern about this breed and hence have not created any documentary about the Marwaris, Kathiawaris and Sindhi. These horses if researched upon well will completely change the narrative on horses. I’m very sure even the Arabs would owe their lineage to Indian breeds, as nowhere else in the world have horses been so thoroughly been bred as it has been here in India, most of the ancient knowledge has been lost although it still exists in Indian folklore.
Very beautiful horse, even though I'm not Indian, it makes me proud whenever I see a Marwari horse in a Bollywood movie. I say this considering the history and how the British at the time involved this breed with the racism issue. Glad this breed did not die out. Thanks for this informative video!
