@@IndoorEcosystem I'm planning on adding it myself with some RGB bulbs at some point, or if I find any green party bulbs at a thrift store. I bet adding green to the mix would probably increase growth even more but then I'd be trimming ferns non stop!
Yeah, I have 2 tanks running, and I'm setting up 3 others with plans for a 4th, for a total of 6. At least for this coming year, haha. I mean, I am not adverse to setting up a paludarium at some point... Never say never.

The struggle with the big power plugs are so real. The thermostats I run sometimes can't have another appliance right next to each other. For my snakes I have 12 slot extension cord.........just because of the space.
I'll have to upgrade to a 10-12 slot as well and space everything every second slot. These Sinkor ones will at least let you put a normal plug between them but I have a few other things connected that won't allow anything to fit next to them so you lose a spot...
I got these from "Invital" here in Europe. They are really good value for money put out some really good results. I'm not sure about US retailers though but Google Sinkor lights and something should pop up pretty quickly.
I don't actually know how many are in this tank these days. They bred constantly and I slowly sell them (local pickup) every so often. So the numbers stay in a healthy range.
@@leekaifengmoe9604 The big tank has Geosesarma dennerle, the fern jungle has Geosesarma Hagen and I have 3 other tanks with 3 different species as well. You need a different tank for each species otherwise they fight and kill eachother. Sadly you can't mix them in a single tank or it's just a death sentence. But I will be revealing the other 3 species as the videos for those builds come out.
It was a toss up between those and these Sinkor ones. I picked these because they look a lot more streamlined and minimalistic, especially with the adjustable legs. You can slide them up and down the entire length of the light. I probably should have showed that in the video actually 😅. Hindsight now though. In an extreme example you could mount a 90cm light on a 30 cm tank if you so really wanted to.
hey, I had a question about your paludariums. Do you do any water changes? In my current tanks I've noticed that a lot of the times there is a bit of evaporation, so i usually just add some water here and there instead of doing an actual water change, I wanted to see what your thoughts on this were? Especially since water sections in most normal sized tanks cant hold that much water since we go by the 80/20 rule I was somewhat worried that me not doing water changes may have a negative effect on my tank. Thank you!
I do a change of about 50% every 2 weeks sometimes 3. I also top up the evaporation. I have noticed that the crabs love water change day as well. For the next couple of days after a water change they all seem to come out and sit in the water for a while. Sometimes it will trigger molting as well. The water tests perfect all the time so it probably wouldn't need changing but it's so quick and easy I always make sure to do it. Plus the crabs react well to it too.
@@IndoorEcosystem sounds great! It obviously felt like I should be changing it (don’t worry tank is still cycling, no crabs in there) but since I’m getting close to being ready I did want to clarify! Thanks for always responding
@@happyface98765 it's handy having water that stays clean for weeks so if you're just too busy to do a water change or if you go on holidays you don't have to stress about it. The other thing that water changes help with is removing mineral build up after evaporation and topups. Over time the water can get quite high TDS without water changes.
Little news from my vampires crab... There is a big mystake ! I didn't hit it at the beginning and yet, I ordered for 5 Geosesarma Dennerle ; I have three dernnerle & the problem is that they gave me two males Geosesarma noduliferum in addition, with red pincers & white eyes. So a problem will arise, I have two females, but they are Dennerle one male , plus these two others who are males too. So the risk is the hybridization of the two species because they are compatible to the reproduction point of view. So, I don't really know what to do... On the one hand I'm not the good Lord, but I'm very curious to see what nature is capable of doing with the crossing of the two species, perhaps a crab plus robust, because it seems that those, which have the red pincers, are more larger than the Dennerle, but on the other hand all the aquarists would say it, it is a bit of a heresy to cross the species, except that in botany That always gives something better, so the balance leans a little more towards letting mother nature do its thing and we'll see. P.S : In any case, they are quite shy, but they seem to be very sociable, when I manage to observe them without them seeing me, they are often all together or not far from each other, but each has their own little corner, the majority have dug burrows to sleep in, another sleeps in Bromelia plant =) And I noticed that they did like chickens, they eat small quartz gravel.
If you can make a smaller tank for the species you have fewer of. If you mix them there's a very high chance that they will all kill eachother before any hybridisation. It won't always happen right away but it will happen eventually sadly. Make sure you email them back about the problem.
