I play it with a slow triplet strum...Down with the first finger, up with the thumb, up with the first finger, repeat four times per measure. Or you can play four down beats per measure (this would be a way to make it easier).

Such an amazing channel.. Thank you so much😊🔥 and people in comment section are also too sweet suggesting strumming and picking patterns which works best according to the song..
I love it! Just a tip tho, instead of using d7, using d would be much better as it gives completion to the chord and the song. That's what I reccomend but other than that this was really great! Good job.
I had to go back and look at the song; I think I chose the Hawaiian D7 because it is easier to play for beginners (although I did use D earlier in the song) and also because of the incomplete nature of the D7 (especially the Hawaiian D7 without a D in it) leading back to the actual key of G. That said-if you want to play the D instead-go for it.
@@sandidiogeness 6/8 is the time signature. like 4/4 where there are four counts or beats in a measure in 6'8 there are 6 and can be counted in 2 ways 1,2,3,4,5,6 or 1 and 2 with sub divisions.
DDUUDDUU DDUUDDUU for each chord. For the 2nd part you'll see you only strum DDUU DDUU for each chord. Then when you get to the part where it gets faster it will be 1 strum D for each chord. Then over again.
Thanks for adding a pattern. I always want to remind people that there isn’t one correct pattern, but a bunch of patterns that can work for people. What is most important is keeping a steady beat and changing chords at the same time. Special patterns are just icing on the cake!
Good suggestion. It doesn’t even need to be transposed. It might a little while (a week or two). Be working on your Bm, and switching from Bm to D (that’s a pretty quick change in that song)
I did leave you a message about the value of not having an "official" strum. I also looked and I had left responses to other comments saying what I did. If you can't "hear" the changes, watch for the "moving box" to start to fade and change...it will go "solid" when the next chord is supposed to start.
All these years of complex chords and sings and I'm still a beginner!? Please make something much more advanced fir me so I can show my father I'm an advanced ukulele player and not just a begginer. Like fast changing chords, maybe harder chords like F#sus and Eb7sus.

I think this song is autobiographical and she is his wife now. Since he is Ed Sheeran, I think he has enough money to buy a home. But I get what you mean. Nobody, male or female, likes to be taken advantage of.
You have to help yourself with that; but if you can sing and play ukulele to her when you find her--that will either be incredibly cool, or she'll hate it. 😄
I like how you think, but for the record, my wife just tolerates my ukulele addiction. To be fair, I didn't have it when we were married (almost 13 years already).
Check the other comments for suggestion. Something in the realm of 6/8 or 12/8 strumming, like a triplet strum would work well-but you’ll have to watch other videos to learn how to do it.
So, no offense to the video or creator. I'm just having a hard time actually learning the song with the format. I can play along relatively well at this point, but without the video I struggle. Any tips?
Download the chord chart, such as at ukutabs.com and practice off that chart, without the play along video. If you want to bring something from just a play along to performance, you’re going to have to move towards performance. And music is one place where you can fail, dust yourself off, and keep going.
Likes and dislikes don't really help me, as a creator, to know anything more about the video. I know the algorithms look at it, but I could really care less about it (as these videos do not earn any income, at least for me...copyright holders and RUclips earn any ad revenue that you see). I avoid giving specific strumming patterns because in most of the songs, ukulele was never used and there is no "right" answer. These were also created for the classroom, and teachers like to specify their own patterns with their students. And, adding a strumming pattern to the beginning of a song adds time before students are playing--which is fine the first time, but an added lag each and every other time you want to play the song. I do realize that some people get caught up in playing "THE" right pattern...and for those people, in the summer of 2019, I began creating tutorials for every play along that I make on my sister RUclips Channel. For many of these older play alongs (older on this channel), there are lots of suggestions in the comments, and if you need some guidance, that would be a good place to start!
