On Monday I sang some songs with my friends to some old people it was fun also with my teacher
I'm 52 and have never played an instrument in my life. On Feb 29th of this year (2020), I decided to take that "extra" day (Leap Day) and learn something new. I always wanted to play the ukulele!
It's been 7 days now. I'm still working my way thru sore fingertips, (who knew strings would hurt so bad, !?!?), but I'm getting there...... almost!! I can play all the cords, sort of. I just need to work on strumming & the flow from cord to cord.
I'm having so much fun though!! Guess you really CAN teach an old dog new tricks! 😉

When in doubt, loosy goosy. This is what i taught my younger cousin. Loosen up your hand when you strum, and youll sound a lot better. Need any advice, just ask. Uke is so much fun to learn.

This is one of the first songs I learned to play on my ukulele
This is the same strumming pattern as Riptide if you are familiar with it! Just a little different rhythm and you repeat it twice for each chord rather than once in Riptide. :) I have such a hard time learning strumming patterns, so this being the same as Riptide really helped!
Im a beginner and my boyfriend taught me this song, super easy if you have barely any experience with uke and great to learn some of the basic chords on

follow the beats or sound while strumming its like ur hands are sinhing 😂 but its works for me my tutor said that to me and its so easy
just got my ukulele yesterday and this is the first song i learnt!
If you're looking to do the bare minimum or easiest version, I would recommend doing 4 downstrokes for each new note. This makes it so you can actually sing along without messing up every 5 seconds and still have the ukes melody.

I found this video very easy to follow. this video is amazing for me. I just started to learn the G cord and this song helped me. this video is great for those people who want to learn. PS I slowed the video down to start of so I could get the hang of it, then made it faster. just a helpful hint there guys. I used to say that before.. itll definitely takes time, don't worry.. youll get there.
My tip would be just get used to the strum that you're mostly vibing with it. until you dont have to focus if it's the right strum or not cuz your hands are used to it and youve got better knowing to just vibe
this song definitely will help cuz there's not much of a change from beginning to end.. i used to practice to learn singing and strum with this song and it helped me to different songs as well

the strum pattern with which I can sometimes sing along is D DU UD cause it's so simple, or else i cut the sentences in time with the strumming or I'm focusing so much on the note I'm playing that's the one I sing instead of the intended note

For beginners I found it useful to try just strumming once to get used to the song per chord, then doing the DDUUDU :D
