Great review. I really like them in that colour. They sound so good too. I agreed with you that Ford/FPV should have done more like you said with the seats and the steering wheel. Simple things that would have made the R-Spec more special. Thanks for the review.
Thanks Johnny for a great day reviewing our RSPEC. A fantastic review and also big thanks for doing a review on my Holy Grail. They are both great cars that I hold very close to my heart. Aussie muscle cars at their best. A part of the Australian motoring history. Cheers mate
Not a ford lover, typically - at least not for the later model ones - more because they stopped dropping money on developing the interiors a few years before stopping production - but you cannot deny the strength of their drive lines. My brother had a gold FG GT with 700+ HP, an undeniable weapon - but the interior feel was very very 'taxi'. High seating position and a dashboard that looked 5yo when new... a sad development for what was otherwise an amazing piece of kit. Such a damn shame that Ford and Holden went down the tubes.... That, however, is gorgeous! Kudos to the owner - keeping a rare bird in such low Ks condition - must be hard not driving her!
Love your reviews Ross, but this one in particular was great. Your comments about the development of these cars and engines and how we’ve given it up for electrification and 2L crap cracked me up! So true though, the loss of Australian car manufacturing is a crying shame
They run Intercoolers with no Water. Meaning it was used as a Heat Exchanger. Harrop made made the Coolers Wet. It was used on the Holy Grail Falcon from Premcar. Madness.
They are cool. Ive driven a few SC 335. I found them to be deceptively fast. My thoughts are an F6 gives more of a shove in the seat feeling but with the 335 you look at the speedo and go holy crap id better slow down.
The sound of this I'm reminded of the days of Bathurst ford is Holden but sadly those days are slowly going away due ev cars etc it's not the same call me old school got to love a V8 rumble
I absolutely love this car but I'm also jealous of the owner because he owns the Holy Grail as well lol what a legend,a very nice review of an Aussie classic I thoroughly enjoyed this mate thank you.
Thanks for showing. Can only wonder what could have been done if ford Australia was still going with money. But glad some people still have the passion and look after examples like this.
And it's reviews like this that really make me think I should still hang on to my GT that I've owned for over 20 years , still goes like stink, but I hardly drive it, but each time I do wowzer, still puts a fair few cars to shame on the road.
Hat's off to the Owner of the GT R -SPEC, driven under 7,000 Kilometres in 2024. On the Super Charged 5.0 Coyote / Miami it didn't perform well with the " 6 Speed ZF " auto transmission. the power from the engine couldn't get to rear wheel quick enough from what i heard. GS 315, XR8 335 - 345, GT 335 - 351 were all powerful cars that produced more kilowatts then what FORD Australia advertised them for. But the ZF 6 Speed auto did the 5.0 Miami injustice. Super Charged 5.0 Miami also came in utes.
Very nice car. That's the Old Pac, right? I remember going up and down that (when the road quality was a bit better). I had a VR SS Commodore at the time.
No it’s not 420kws. Its real number is about 375kws. You have to remember that at the end Ford came clean with the real number of the Sprint. The sprint 8 was disclosed at 345kws and 400kws transient. That is down on the GTF. The Rspec has no more power than a normal GT and is most definitely lower than both the Sprint and GTF.
And he and you are wrong. There are only 2 cars documented at 400kws or more. I know because I was there. At the launch of the GTF Ford revealed transient overboost to much confusion from the media. If you're saying the Rspec had a number of over 400 kws in transient back in 2012 then you are calling FPV and Ford liars. Thr only official Miami with a stated transient number is the sprint 8 at 400kws. It's a truncated GTF tune to protect that car as the most powerful Aust Ford. If you look at the tunes the sprint 8 and the GTF are identical until the sprint 8 is told, son you're not a GTF and stop. Even the GTF transient number isn't official. When they showed us the graph the number went as high as a chart that indicator but there were no numbers. When sprint came along, as a parting gift they decided to release the official transient number. They are respectfully 400 for the 8 and 370 for the 6. Now for the more astute there is actually a pattern to the transient value. From this we can guess what the standard GT Miamis transient number was.
@@HSE2inc you can make literally any miami more powerful than the sprint or gt-f with an 800 tune lol. Its all just marketing brotha, that overboost is just the pcm using 10psi when intake temps are below 40 odd degrees or something. It's just driveline protection like the torque limit in 1st in F6's and the 8's. You can change all that with simple edits and even then the coyote platform takes timing out when things get too hot anyways.
@@doug-core8850 if we were talking about modification then you would have a point. Since we aren’t LOL you don’t. LOL You watched the video yeah? Ross didn’t at any time say that car was modified did he? LOL. In fact he said the opposite didn’t he. 6000kms and purchased as an investment. We all know the moment you tune it, it’s devalued. Maybe just maybe there is an argument on the grails only because they have been modified by Premcar. So for your benefit again. Any Stock car as this car is claimed to be with 335 on the side isn’t anywhere near 420kws. LOL LOL LOL.
Too bad Ford almost brought the Falcon to the United States in recent times. It did not materialize. This would have competed head to head against the Dodge Charger and Pontiac G8/Chevrolet SS in the United States. Thank you for sharing the many Australian models you share. Were these exported to the Middle East under Ford? I am not sure.
@@RossReviewsau Thank you Ross for addressing the question. It is sad it did not. It should had a come back. That was due to Taurus and Fusion on one side and Crown Victoria on the other side in the American market. It would clashed. This should have come here because Chrysler had the 300 and Charger and GM had Pontiac G8 and Chevrolet SS ( both were Holden Commodore). We got the Holden Caprice, but it was police duty only and it was stripped and equipped a certain way. They would not sell them to regular citizens. GM banned this. They stopped dealers who were caught selling them. Regular citizens bought them later after they came off police duty and they modified them. There are plenty on You Tube. Buick got the Holden Caprice too. They sold it in China as the Buick Park Avenue. Chevrolet in the Middle East got the Caprice and sold it as the Chevrolet Caprice. Too bad America did not get either version. It had an upgraded interior. The Holden Caprice and Statesman would have made an excellent Oldsmobile. Ford missed out it seems... Now we do not had a sedan from any of the brands except the up coming new Dodge Charger coupe and sedan.

Yup your spot on with that man.. the Miami can hold its own with a good Barra anyday.. seriously quick!
Your a lucky man Ross, driving some beautiful Fords, keep up the great work mate.
Thanks, will do!

You're truly living the dream! Man the white on that R Spec is sexy, thanks for the review man they're always great.
Hot colour for it eh
Great video man, what a weapon. Would love to see you review a Force 6 if you can get your hands on one.
Trying to get a hold of one
Love that they didn't get the racoon eyes with the R-Spec
They are their own model
Great review on the R-Spec mate, these are one of my favourite cars. How would you like to review a 2012 6 speed R-Spec ute ?
Would love that mate shoot me a message on fb or instagram

You should brother
Do the 335 engines suffer much from heat soak with no intercooler?
Great video mate. You drove the car the way it should. Ps it sounded fantastic, i loved it. Cheers ✌️🍾👌🤟🤙
Thanks 👍 definitely had to give it a good run
5.5 to 100 with im guessing 12 year old dunlop sport maxx tires
Great review! what a legendary vehicle.
Couldn't agree more!
IS THAT THE BRA TREE!? I was there today!

Ross, how do you convert rwkw to kw at the engine?
Harrop Blower were used on FPV.👌
