Exactly. I know Gege hasn't been an author who focuses too much on the MC. But I don't see it happening without a major moment between Yuji and Sukuna. That could come after the merger if Sukuna can do it without killing everyone. But especially with Sukuna stating ages ago that Yuji's ideals are strong and that he wants to break them. There needs to be a call back to that before he dies.

Yeah, I thought that was clear when I was reading it. I can see that being a big plot point. Either Sukuna will form that into a new body after Megumi is let free, or Sukuna will be beat, but Kenjaku won't be dead and takes it back to make the merger
I don't believe the merger is coming since most plot points in JJK hasn't come true at all. It feels like whatever Gege is building up something up he tends to move on from it. Megumi saving his sister, involving other countries into JJK series and lastly Kenny who is considered to be the next Aizen by most shonen fans, yet the main cast treated him like a regular villain. These examples show Gege doesn't care what he does with the story as longer the battle systems remain.

nah i do think the Merger will happen. I mean the whole story is pretty much build on it and it's one of Kenjaku his mayor plans. Perhaps Sukuna will release it just before he dies(Well he can't really die, just get sealed)

Honesty I am kind of over it at this point. We all know that Sukuna isn’t going to die, especially because Gege said the series isn’t going to end until December. I know he is taking another break but it is likely still too early for this to end. I think we have at least another 4 or 5 chapters before Sukuna finally goes down and then we will have a short final battle and epilogue. Then it will be over.

According to Gege interview he doesn't kill off characters who most fans don't feel sad for them at all. Ex: Mei Mei. There is a possibility everyone will die except Sukuna because I don't believe fans will be heartbroken if the main antagonist had died. I won't be surprised if Megumi and Yuji died then we see them meeting Nobara in the afterlife. This will trigger a lot of fans, but Gege might do that lol.

I will probably get a lot of hate for this this, but to be honest, this is truly peak JJK to me. To be fair I do get it when many have the complaint, but I think that’s because we are reading this week by week. I live in Japan and recently went back and re read a lot this this sukuna fight volume style, and it’s so much better than I gave it credit for. Everything flows so much better and tbh a lot of the characters coming in when they did and Sukuna’s reasons to be able to survive up to this point make sense within the verses rules. gege has done a great job all things considered. I think this will age so much better after it’s all said and done, and to be honest this is reminding me so much of back when madara was dominating chapter to chapter back during the Naruto days. And my god wait until Mappa gets their hands on this, gonna be straight 🔥🔥
